Efficiency of home remedies for the common cold

The primary symptom for common cold is tenderness in the throat and constriction in nasal tract. Later, it affects other parts, also causing sneezing, running nose, increased temperature, sore throat, head ache, body pains, appetite loss and chillness. Due to its frequent occurrence , people find it irritating to visit hospital and take medicines, rather they like to take home remedies for the common cold, with the widely available things at home.

The widespread practice among the home remedies for the common cold is using lemon. With enriched vitamin C, lemon brings resistance to the body and decreases damaging effect of the virus. Lemon juice watered down in warm water with a single spoon of honey will definitely reduce the period of sickness. It is counseled to take twice each day.

Soup of garlic is another normal way among the home remedies for the common cold and taken once in a day. 3-4 cloves of garlic, boiled in water or few drops of garlic oil with onion juice diluted in water, has healing effect with its antispasmodic and antiseptic properties. It opens up respiration tract and flushes all of the toxins in the body and decreases the temperature.

Ginger is another kitchen product used in home remedies for the common cold. Water boiled with ginger or tea made with ginger is a perfect concoction to drive away common cold and fever.

Water boiled with lady’s finger or the steam caused by this curative vegetable can be inhaled, to get release from dry cough and throat infection, or by consuming twice, each day.

Sour gourd roots too work as an effective way to fix common cold. To scale back the bitterness, include honey with the paste of this root and take it as a course for one month, to completely exert common cold from the body. Turmeric is another superb herb used to treat cold, at home. Turmeric mixed with pepper in boiling milk can be an excellent drink. To stop the running nose, burn turmeric and inhale the smoke to experience instant relief.
