Menopause is something that every woman in the world is going to go through at some point in her life. This is just a part of being female. Lots of women actively put it off but the simple fact is, eventually, the female body stops having its monthly cycle. The start of menopause can be traumatic for many women especially if they are unfamiliar with menopause symptoms. We have all heard the stories about women who are going through "the change" but what symptoms should we look out for? Keep reading to learn for yourself!
Sexual desire and genital dryness are a few of the signs of menopause that men cannot fully understand. Now men: just because your wife or girlfriend is suddenly "not in the mood" does not mean that she is automatically menopausal. A dry spell that lasts longer than a short period of time could indicate your partner is about to experience a serious life altering event. Don't try to bully her into anything you might regret later. The premenopausal woman is not thrilled with the changes going on either.
Losing the ability to sleep through the night is one of the troubling symptoms that menopausal women experience. If you are used to sleeping without waking and are suddenly having trouble falling or staying asleep it is possible that you are experiencing symptoms of menopause. Sometimes the women who have trouble sleeping also have hot flashes and night sweats. Sometimes it is not. Many times this symptom gets overlooked as nothing more than trouble sleeping. If you are experiencing this symptom you should talk to your doctor just to make sure that you are okay.
One of the most famous symptoms of menopause is irritability. Do you remember the beginnings of puberty when, without warning, just about everything seemed to be annoying as all get out? This is pretty much the same thing that a woman who is starting to go through menopause feels. If you know a woman is about the right age for menopause and she is suddenly acting like everything is irritating or annoying when she usually is pretty easy going, this might not be PMS. It might be a sign of impending menopause. Most women have a very difficult time when they go through menopause. It is important that the people who live with woman of a certain age try to understand that while they are going through menopause, the women have very little control over what is happening to them and that they are not enjoying the changes they are going through. A woman might be happy that she isn't going to have to go through a monthly "cycle" anymore but for the most part, menopause is very traumatic. Being able to recognize menopausal symptoms will help you be more prepared to help the women you know get through their "change of life."
