Man pleads guilty to illegally trafficking kidneys from Israel where they were later transplanted into American patients at prestigious US hospitals

(NaturalNews) Levy Izhak Rosenbaum, an Israeli citizen living in Brooklyn, NY, has pleaded guilty to illegally purchasing kidneys from desperate Israelis, and trafficking them back to the US for transplant in patients at prestigious, but unnamed, American hospitals. Rosenbaum has also reportedly pleaded guilty to conspiracy for illegally brokering kidney sales. According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA), desperate kidney patients collectively paid Rosenbaum $410,000 to purchase kidneys harvested from Israelis who had sold them for a mere fraction of this amount. Rosenbaum’s lawyers claim that all the donors agreed to give up their kidneys, but a 1984 federal law prohibits knowingly purchasing or selling organs for transplant. Rosenbaum allegedly bought the kidneys for as little as $10,000 each, and resold them for a minimum of $120,000 each. He then used the money to purchase property, which he has since agreed to forfeit following his guilty pleas. According to Nancy Scheper-Hughes, an anthropologist and organ trade expert, Israel is a hotbed of illegal organ trafficking. Many of those who are willing to donate a kidney, which is one of the few organs that can be harvested from a live person, are very poor immigrants from Eastern European countries who are desperate for money. Rosenbaum had reportedly been arrested several years ago as part of a massive organ trafficking sting. A US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent pretended to be businessman in order to nab Rosenbaum, as well as 46 others, many of whom were rabbis, for participating in illegal activity. On October 27, Rosenbaum pleaded guilty in a New Jersey court to three counts of organ trafficking and one count of conspiracy. He faces up to 20 years in prison, and as much as a $250,000 fine. He could also be deported back to Israel. “A black market in human organs is not only a grave threat to public health, it reserves lifesaving treatment for those who can best afford it at the expense of those who cannot,” said New Jersey’s US Attorney Paul Fishman about the case. “We will not tolerate such an affront to human dignity.” Most countries of the world currently have laws on the books prohibiting organ trafficking. Treat cancer – Recent research shows natural combinations boost IV vitamin C

(NaturalNews) The latest research on high dose, intravenous vitamin C continues to confirm its cytotoxic effects on many cancers in tissue culture models. Results have been so promising that oncologists are now researching the combination of vitamin C with standard chemo drugs. Vitamin D (calcitriol) combined with H2O2, which is released during IV vitamin C treatment, increased the breast cancer cell death rate by 78% compared to H2O2 alone. Some additives, however, actually inhibited the effectiveness of vitamin C. For example, vitamin C lost 95% of its cancer killing power when glutathione was co-injected, and the tumour shrinkage normally seen with vitamin C alone was inhibited. This remains a very active area of research, and more powerful combinations with vitamin C may yet be identified in the future. Fukushima already ten times worse than Chernobyl in ocean waters, suggests data

(NaturalNews) Recent readings taken roughly 19 miles out to sea from the Fukushima nuclear power facility in Japan have revealed radioisotope levels ten times higher than those measured in the Baltic and Black Seas after the massive Chernobyl disaster. Water fluoridation is a civil rights violation say Atlanta civil rights leaders

(NaturalNews) On April 18, Atlanta civil rights leaders called for an end to Georgia’s mandatory water fluoridation practices April on the grounds that it negatively and disproportionately impacts the health of black families and the poor. Andrew Young, former U.N. Ambassador and former Atlanta Mayor, along with Reverend Dr. Gerald Durley, Pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Atlanta, both inductees in the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame, expressed concerns about the fairness, safety, and full disclosure regarding fluoridation in letters to the state’s minority and majority legislative leaders. Studies show that despite fluoridation, tooth decay is higher in blacks. Dental fluorosis, caused by overexposure to fluoride which can result in pitting of tooth enamel and mottling of the teeth, is also higher in blacks. The Department of Health and Human Services proposes to lower water fluoride levels to alleviate the growing dental fluorosis epidemic but the Fluoride Action Network submitted scientific evidence to HHS indicating that, to preserve health, fluoridation must stop completely. “My father was a dentist,” Young said. “I formerly was a strong believer in the benefits of water fluoridation for preventing cavities. But many things that we began to do 50 or more years ago we now no longer do, because we have learned further information that changes our practices and policies.” Fluoride has been linked to many health problems, according to FAN, including lowered IQ in 24 human studies and damage to the brain in over 100 animal studies. “The National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences has designated kidney patients, diabetics, seniors and babies as ‘susceptible subpopulations’ that are especially vulnerable to harm from ingested fluorides.” Dudley said. “Black citizens are disproportionately affected by kidney disease and diabetes, and are therefore more impacted by fluorides.” Infants, one of the sensitive subpopulations, who are fed formula made with fluoridated tap water will receive up to 175 times more fluoride than breast-fed infants, according to FAN. Infants zero to six months old, the smallest and most vulnerable in our population, were completely excluded from risk calculations in HHS’s proposal. “I am most deeply concerned for poor families who have babies.” Young said. “If they cannot afford unfluoridated water for their babies’ milk formula, do their babies not count?” “This is an issue of fairness, civil rights, and compassion,” he said. “We must find better ways to prevent cavities, such as helping those most at risk for cavities obtain access to the services of a dentist.” The attack on water fluoridation is just one of many building across the country. Black cohosh safe for your liver, review finds

(NaturalNews) A safety review published in the journal Menopause has confirmed that black cohosh, a natural plant alternative to conventional hormone replacement therapy (HRT), is safe and will not cause liver damage. Some recent reports have questioned the dietary supplement’s safety, but the new study confirms that menopausal women can safely use black cohosh to help alleviate hot flashes, night sweats, and other menopause symptoms. Led by Dr. Belal Naser from the German-based Schaper and Brummer GmbH and Co., manufacturer of a popular brand of black cohosh, the study analyzed 1,100 women who used either black cohosh, HRT, or a placebo to treat menopause symptoms for up to six months. Not only did users of black cohosh not experience visible signs of liver damage, but 62 percent of those taking the supplement that had indicators of liver problems prior to the study actually saw these indicators normalize at the completion of the study. At least eight different studies have shown that black cohosh is just as effective as synthetic HRT therapies at treating menopause symptoms, but without the harmful side effects. A 2004 study from the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz., for instance, found that black cohosh reduces weekly hot flash averages by more than 50 percent.
