Wi-Fi radiation from laptops may cause infertility in men

(NaturalNews) Laptops with wi-fi technology have given us the capability to connect to the internet almost anywhere, but now researchers say wi-fi radiation may also be giving us more infertility by decreasing sperm motility and damaging DNA in sperm. Is Your Wi-Fi Laptop Hurting Your Sperm? Published in the medical journal Fertility and Sterility , the study looked at how radiation emitted from wi-fi laptops impacts sperm health. Researchers in Argentina took semen samples from 29 healthy men, and they measured sperm motility after four hours of exposure to wi-fi radiation from a laptop wirelessly connected to the internet. Sperm in the control group was kept at the same temperature for the same amount of time, but was not exposed to wi-fi radiation. Of the sperm exposed to the wi-fi radiation, 25 percent stopped swimming. Only 14 percent of unexposed sperm ceased to swim after four hours. Wi-fi sperm also showed 9 percent DNA fragmentation, or irreversible damage in the genetic code, while sperm in the control group only showed 3 percent. Electromagnetic radiation is a product of wireless communication, and researchers suggest this radiation may be causing sperm damage. “We speculate that keeping a laptop connected wirelessly to the internet on the lap near the testes may result in decreased male fertility,” say the researchers in their report. They also recommend more studies be done to examine the long-term impact of wi-fi radiation on sperm in a real world setting. It’s important to note researchers compared radiation emissions in wi-fi laptops to laptops without wi-fi connection. Emissions from laptops without wi-fi were negligible, while emissions from wi-fi laptops was significantly higher. Previous studies on laptops and fertility have produced similar results. Another legitimate concern is scrotal hyperthermia (elevated testicle temperature), which can easily occur if you sit with a laptop in your lap for hours at a time. Scrotal hyperthermia negatively impacts sperm quality and can cause decreased fertility. The solution? Keep the laptop off your lap. Laptops may have been designed for convenient lap placement, but this is obviously not best for your health. Instead, use your laptop on a desk or get a specially designed laptop tray. Also, use a wired internet connection when possible, as it appears the radiation emitted from wi-fi communications may be particularly harmful to sperm. Weather control is no myth: Scientists engineer thunderstorms over Abu Dhabi

(NaturalNews) Discussions of weather control technology used to be limited to the hushed gossip of conspiracy theorists, but it turns out the conspiracy theorists were right (again). Today in Abu Dhabi, scientists have successfully manipulated entire weather systems, causing up to fifty downpours of rain across the Al Ain region the desert nation over the last year. It’s all being accomplished by a team of scientists working for Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of United Arab Emirates. They have erected entire fields of giant ionizers to generate waves of negative ions which rise into the lower atmosphere and attract dust particles. The dust particles, in turn, attract condensation from the ambient air, and when enough condensation is achieved, the clouds can’t hold the water anymore and a downpour of rain is unleashed. The whole system was devices by a Swiss company named Metro Systems International. This last year saw huge rainstorms over Abu Dhabi during July and August — months that are normally bone dry in the desert. The success of the project astonished even the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology , whose former director reportedly said, “Maybe this is a most important point for mankind.” (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1343470/Have-scientists-discovered-create-downpours-desert.html) Where are the skeptics now? What I find really interesting in all this is that, for decades, the so-called “skeptics” have insisted that all this talk about weather control is pure conspiracy theory. If you tell a typical conventional doctor that “weather control technology can make it rain in the desert,” they’ll look at you as if you were some kind of nut. But it turns out the skeptics are getting soaked over this issue, as usual. This technology is up and running right now, bringing rain to Abu Dhabi at a fraction of the cost of desalination plants. The conspiracy theorists were right yet again about the existence of weather control technology. Jesse Ventura even did a show on it last year on his Conspiracy Theory series: Remember the episode about HAARP? (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program.) Watch that episode on NaturalNews.TV right now: http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=E3CADA3AE2B04FB92F27BB09C8AE19FB HAARP appears to be an experimental weather control technology being operated by the U.S. government right now, shrouded in secrecy. The field of HAARP ionizers looks eerily similar to those set up in Abu Dhabi (http://www.haarp.alaska.edu/), and the entire project is understood by those who have really looked into it as a “weather weapon” capable of “potentially triggering floods, droughts, hurricanes and earthquakes.” (http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/pandora/haarp.html) Today we know that weather control technology works . It’s up and running right now in Abu Dhabi, and there’s little question that controlling the weather has many applications, including military and economic applications. So for those who raise their eyebrows when you say “weather control,” just answer them with “Abu Dhabi.” Fifty thunderstorms prove it already works.

Light treatment clears psoriasis as it boosts vitamin D levels

(NaturalNews) According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) about 7.5 million Americans suffer from the chronic, autoimmune skin disease called psoriasis that causes irritated, flaky and thick patches of red skin; some forms of psoriasis are also associated with joint pain. Most medical treatment for the often painful and quality-of-life robbing disease center around controlling symptoms with medications like cortisone. But now research just published in the August issue of the Archives of Dermatology indicates there’s a non-drug way to clear and maybe cure the disease naturally — exposure to vitamin D boosting UV-B light. Comprising the “tanning rays” from the sun that are blocked by sunscreen and long feared for supposedly causing wrinkles and “age spots”, UV-B light, it turns out, actually promotes health by increasing levels of vitamin D. Now a team of scientists from St. Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, have found that treatment with narrow-band UV-B rays greatly increases serum levels of vitamin D in the wintertime. And they’ve shown how adequate exposure to UV-B light therapy can clear psoriasis. In fact, the new finding is powerful evidence that a lack of the “sunshine” vitamin is involved in the development and worsening of this skin condition. The researchers studied 30 consecutive patients with psoriasis who were treated with narrow-band UV-B light three times per week between October 2008 and February 2009. The research subjects’ psoriasis cleared and their serum vitamin D levels (which were measured before the study, after four weeks of treatment and after the treatment was finished) were compared with those of 30 control patients who also had psoriasis but did not have any UV-B therapy. The researchers also assessed the severity of the patients’ psoriasis symptoms and their skin disease-related quality of life before and after treatment. The results showed that levels of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D, which is considered the most accurate measurement of vitamin D levels in the body, had increased significantly among individuals receiving UV-B therapy — rising from about 23 nanograms per milliliter to 59 nanograms per milliliter at the end of treatment. However, there was no change in the control group. “At the end of the study, all patients in the treatment group were vitamin D sufficient, but 75 percent of the control group had vitamin D insufficiency,” the authors wrote in their paper. What’s more, the control group’s skin condition didn’t improve at all. And in the group treated with UV-B light exposure, their psoriasis severity scores decreased dramatically — from 7.1 at the beginning of the study to only 0.5 after light therapy. Companies may soon be required to prove chemical safety before use

August 6, 2010 by

(NaturalNews) There is a new piece of legislation before Congress that will require chemical manufacturers to prove that an industrial chemical is safe before they can use it in products. The Toxic Chemicals Safety Act of 2010 will grant more power to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate chemicals and will update the antiquated Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 to keep up with the times. According to environmental advocates, the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 is inadequate at protecting both people and the environment from toxic chemicals because the thousands of new chemicals that have been created since its passage are excluded from its mandates. The EPA has also failed to ban any chemicals under the old act. “[O]ver the years, not only has [the Toxic Substances Control Act] fallen behind the industry it is intended to regulate, it has also proven an inadequate tool for providing the protection against chemical risks that the public rightfully expects,” explained Steve Owens, assistant administrator of the EPA’s office of chemical safety and pollution prevention department. The Toxic Chemicals Safety Act of 2010 will update current laws to grant the EPA the ability to require more safety information from chemical manufacturers. The EPA will also be given more power to restrict and ban unsafe chemicals from use. As it currently stands, the burden of proof is on the EPA to prove that a chemical is unsafe after manufacturers begin using it, but the new bill will rightfully shift that burden to chemical manufacturers, requiring them to prove that a chemical is safe before being able to use it. Blueberries Improve Memory, Slow Aging and Much More

February 18, 2010 by

(NaturalNews) Blueberries are one of the richest sources of antioxidants, the natural substances that fight damage caused by free radicals. In addition to helping prevent memory loss, these versatile and delicious berries have been shown to be effective in fighting chronic degenerative diseases, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, muscular degeneration, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. The flavonoids contained in blueberries are thought to be responsible for these effects. Although it is not clear as to how flavonoids affect the brain, it has been shown that they are absorbed in the blood stream, crossing the blood/brain barrier. This enables them to influence regions involving memory and motor function. The researchers explained that it is thought to enhance neural connections, thereby improving cellular communication and stimulating neural regeneration. Blueberries have been shown to be instrumental in protecting the brain from free radicals, radiation, inflammation, and excitotoxicity. Additionally, blueberries may reverse decline in cognitive and motor function. In addition to its anti-aging properties, blueberries are also high in Vitamin C and Vitamin E. A recent study at the University of Cincinnati found that drinking a couple of cups of blueberry juice each day may give aging memories a boost. The study was led by Robert Krikorian, PhD and Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, and was published in the American Chemical Society’s Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. In the study, people in their 70′s with age-related memory problems were tested for learning and memory. One group of volunteers drank 16 to 20 ounces of a commercial blueberry juice every day for two months while the control group drank a non-juice beverage. At the end of the study, the group of volunteers who drank blueberry juice showed significant improvements on tests for learning and memory compared to the control group. The study scientists concluded that the preliminary findings were encouraging and that “consistent supplementation with blueberries might offer an approach to forestall or mitigate neurodegeneration.” Previous animal studies had indicated that blueberries may help aging memories, but until the recent study, there had been little actual testing of blueberries’ effect on people. The study also indicated that blueberries are linked to lessening depression symptoms and lowering glucose levels. Another plus is that blueberries contain a compound called pterostilbene which may be effective in lowering cholesterol. A test conducted by Dr. Agnes M. Rimando, a research chemist for the Federal Department of Agriculture in Oxford, Mississippi, found that pterostilbene activates a cell receptor that participates in lowering cholesterol and other blood fats. An additional study published in The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry and performed by researchers from Florida State University and Oklahoma State University found that blueberries can even be instrumental in preventing osteoporosis. This study showed that nutrients in blueberries may be responsible for preventing bones from weakening after menopause. In this study, ovaries were removed from rats in order to simulate menopause. While the control group showed bone loss, the group given blueberries retained their bone mass. Ongoing research at Rutgers University in New Jersey has isolated other compounds called proanthocyanidins which promote urinary tract health by preventing bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract walls. Scientists recommend consuming the whole fruit rather than just drinking the juice or taking blueberry extract capsules. The reason for this is that it is not known what part of the blueberry contains all its nutrients and antioxidants.
