Former top Democrat says when Obamacare takes effect, small businesses will drop employee health coverage

(NaturalNews) In regard to the health care “reform” measure in 2009, President Barack Obama assured the nation that the 1000-plus page measure was vital – vital – to ensure that all Americans were finally covered by health insurance. In praising its passage in the House, Obama said the measure “will begin the process of fixing what’s broken about our health care system, reducing costs for all, building on what works, and covering an estimated 97 percent of all Americans.” That prediction isn’t likely to come true, for even a former head of the Democratic Party says not only will millions of Americans lose their preferred coverage after the so-called “Obamacare” legislation kicks in completely, but its price tag is liable to double. Howard Dean, a physician, onetime Democratic candidate for president and former head of the Democratic National Committee, said this week that when Obamacare takes full effect, as many as one-third of the nation’s small businesses will opt to drop their employee coverage. “This is very good for small business,” Dean said. “There was a McKinsey study, which the Democrats don’t like, but I do, and I think it’s true. Most small businesses are not going to be in the health insurance business anymore after this thing goes into effect.” The study pointed out that one of Obama’s key promises – that employees would be able to keep their employer-provided insurance plans – won’t be true for employees of about 45 percent of small businesses, because those same businesses are planning to drop employee coverage because it’ll be cheaper for them to do so. Which leads to the second of Obama’s two main promises – that his healthcare reform measure won’t add to the nation’s deficit. As it turns out, employees who are tossed off their employer’s plans will then be eligible to sign up for one of those government (read taxpayer ) provided health insurance exchange pools. And that, as they say, is where the real money is. Regarding Dean’s comment that dropping employee coverage would help small businesses, former New York Gov. George Pataki said, “The only way it’s a help is if they drop coverage and their employees would all of a sudden have to go on the exchange, which is what of course the president promised wouldn’t happen.” Most estimates of the healthcare reform bill is that it would cost about $970 billion over 10 years, about half of which would be paid for in new taxes. But that was based on a relatively small amount of employees – something like 7 percent, according to Congressional Budget Office estimates – being moved off their employer-provided coverage and into the exchange pools. But with millions more employees likely to wind up in the exchange, that is liable to add nearly $1 trillion more to the cost of “reform.” Wasn’t Obamacare supposed to reduce costs?

Seven startling things most people still don’t know about the national debt, banking and the money supply

(NaturalNews) Most people, even smart people, know surprisingly little about the way money really works in Big Government. With the debt ceiling fiasco suddenly raising awareness of the possibility of a total global financial blowout, now seems like a good time to remind people of seven disturbing facts about money that are almost never acknowledge in the old media. Fact #1 – There is no FDIC insurance fund. The money at your bank is insured against loss by the FDIC’s insurance fund, right? Nope. That’s total fiction. There is no actual money in the fund . The FDIC insurance money has already been looted by the U.S. Treasury which has simply replaced the money with a bunch of IOUs. Why does this matter? Because it means that if the U.S. government goes into default, so will the FDIC! And that means all your bank funds have zero insurance . That’s gonna be a big shock for tens of millions of people when they finally figure this out one day… Fact #2 – There are no social security funds, either. When you pay social security taxes, all that money goes into a trust fund that’s held for safekeeping until the day it pays you back, right? Ha! That’s the “sucker’s view” of social security that only ignorant people believe. In reality, there is no money in the social security trust fund because it too has all been looted by the U.S. Treasury and spent. In truth, social security is already broke. Can’t wait for people to wake up and figure this one out, either… Fact #3 – The U.S. Treasury is stealing money from you every day, even if you pay no taxes! Here’s a mind-boggling truth that most people just can’t seem to get their heads around: The U.S. Treasury is stealing money from you every single day by the simple fact that they keep creating new money and handing it out to wealthy banksters. Well, technically this is being done by the Federal Reserve, which isn’t even part of the federal government. But it’s all done in cahoots with the Treasury, which is eroding the value of your money through these money creation and distribution actions. That’s why prices keep going up all around you, folks: Food isn’t suddenly worth more money; the truth is that your money is worth less! That’s how the Treasury and the Federal Reserve steal from you without even breaking into your home. Probably 99.9% of the population has no understanding of this phenomenon — the erosion of currency valuation through the centralized government printing of more currency. And yet it is a government scam that has been carried out against citizens of the world time and time again, spanning millennia! As history has clearly shown, every nation that goes down the path of printing more currency to pay its bills eventually ends up in a runaway hyperinflation scenario followed by economic collapse. The USA will be no different. Fact #4 – The “balanced solution” isn’t balanced. Don’t you love the quirky White House Press Secretary who keeps spewing out the phrase “balanced solution” even while the debt deal leaves the U.S. budget entirely unbalanced? When you’re spending more money than you’re earning, that’s not financial balance. When the White House says “balanced” what it really means is “compromised” — as in, half way between the Republican position (spend us into purgatory) and the Democratic position (spend us into oblivion). Neither party has any real solution to the cancerous growth of Big Government. That’s because they are creatures of Big Government! Politicians can no more solve the problems of Big Government than arsonists can solve the problem of office fires. Because they are, themselves, creatures of runaway debt spending (how else do you get elected these days?), they simply do not possess the cognitive framework from which real financial solutions must stem. Fact #5 – The government is going to steal everything from you before it collapses Oh my, this is a tough one for people to get their heads around… especially those who naively trust governments to act in the interests of the People. The simple truth of the matter — and I’ve publicly made this prediction before — is that the government is going to STEAL almost everything you own as it heads toward a total financial implosion. This will include: • The government theft of private retirement accounts. The feds will claim they’re taking them over “for your protection.” Yeah, right. And then one day they will simply all vanish. Kiss your IRA goodbye… • The government theft of precious metals. Within the next 3 years, watch for a national emergency to be declared, followed by government confiscation of gold and silver . The feds will take your gold and hand you paper money in exchange. The paper money, of course, will be all but worthless shortly thereafter. Only the suckers, of course, will actually turn in their metals… • Government takeover of your bank accounts. As banks begin to fail in the big collapse, the government will step in and take ownership of the failed institutions, just as it did with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (which used to be publicly-owned companies but are now largely just government finance operations). This will put your bank accounts under the direct control of the White House, which can use executive orders to do things like banning all wire transfers out of the country or limiting daily withdrawals and transfers. Sure, you’ll still “own” your money in the bank, you just won’t be able to freely access it! Fact #6 – Most people have no idea about fractional reserve banking, derivatives, the money supply or the Federal Reserve It’s not just that most people don’t understand banking and finance; it’s that even members of Congress have no idea how all this works. With few exceptions (like Ron Paul), they’re just clueless! Get this: Even most bankers don’t even know how fractional reserve banking really works. They don’t understand derivatives, either, which is why they screwed them up so badly in the housing boom that crashed in 2007. And because bankers, investors and bureaucrats have no idea how it all works, they unwittingly turn it all into a runaway catastrophe. Allowing ignorant adults to play with debt and derivatives is like letting infants play with nuclear weapons . It can only lead to something messy. Fact #7 – Most people are betting their lives on the dollar People buy insurance for their cars, their homes and even their health. But when it comes to money, 99 out of 100 people in America are betting their entire financial existence on the U.S. dollar! They get their paychecks in dollars, their savings accounts are in dollars, and all their assets are denominated in dollars. As a result, they have no diversity to protect them against dollar devaluation. That’s kinda crazy, considering just how quickly the dollar could collapse in the near future and become totally worthless. That’s why smart people are diversifying their assets and converting dollars into land, gold, silver or even storable food . Here in central Texas, even ammunition has a long-term barter value that far exceeds dollars. Looking around at the financial behaviors of others, I’m just stunned at how many people are betting everything on the dollar because they never realized they had any other option (that’s the way the government likes to keep it, of course!). Coming soon: A huge national finance education of the masses Mark my words, folks: The great financial collapse of America is now closer than ever. While I can’t put an exact prediction date on it, there’s absolutely no doubt that it’s coming. The morons in Washington aren’t doing anything to avoid it, either — they’re all just cashing in as much as they can before the big collapse rolls in. Bunch of cowards and crooks running this country. They don’t understanding banking and finance, and they’re determined to make sure you don’t either . Because the less you know about what’s really going on, the longer they can continue to loot the U.S. economy while people stand around and do nothing. How bad is the situation, really? Just yesterday, Vice President Joe Biden called Congressional Tea Party members “terrorists” for their insistence that the U.S. budget be balanced. So now, the mere idea of calling for a balanced budget turns you into a “terrorist” to be prosecuted under the Patriot Act. And why not? Demanding financial sanity MUST be labeled an act of terrorism for our criminal government to continue its own criminal looting operation. Next we’ll probably see the President ordering the arrest and prosecution of any members of Congress — i.e. “terrorists” — who do not go along with unlimited increased in the debt ceiling. Now you see what the terrorism laws are really all about: They are legislative weapons to be used against political enemies , not actual terrorists. Meanwhile, Big Government is technically engaged in the use of financial weapons of mass destruction against the People, yet no one notices. A bizarre world we live in, folks. It is dominated by the mindless masses and run by criminal sociopaths. Those who demand real solutions are labeled terrorists, and those who try to explain all this to everybody else are labeled “alarmists.” Just wait until this house of cards collapses, though. There will be a day of reckoning in which a whole bunch of apologies will be owed to all those people who tried to warn the nation what was really happening (and where it would lead us).

World leaders denounce failed war on drugs; call for global decriminalization

(NaturalNews) The “War on Drugs” is a failure, with devastating consequences around the world, and it is time to decriminalize drugs and start treating drug problems as health issues, said a group of prominent former world leaders in a new report released June 1. “Fifty years after the initiation of the UN Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, and 40 years after President (Richard) Nixon launched the US government’s war on drugs, fundamental reforms in national and global drug control policies are urgently needed,” said the report. The Global Commission on Drug Policy responsible for the report includes : former Brazilian president Fernando Cardoso; former Colombian president Cesar Gaviria; Mexico’s former president Ernesto Zedillo; ex-UN chief Kofi Annan; former Chairman of the US Federal Reserve and of the Economic Recovery Board Paul Volcker; former U.S. Secretary of State George Schultz; Mario Vargas Llosa; Carlos Fuentes; and Richard Branson. The Commission called for loosening restrictions on marijuana and an “end [to] the criminalization, marginalization and stigmatization of people who use drugs but who do no harm to others.” The group of statesmen and prominent intellectuals said punitive measures had led to a situation where “the global scale of illegal drug markets — largely controlled by organized crime — has grown dramatically.” They encourage experimentation by governments with models of legal regulation of drugs (especially cannabis) to undermine the power of organized crime and safeguard the health and security of their citizens. “Decriminalization initiatives do not result in significant increases in drug use,” the report said, citing policies in Australia, Holland and Portugal. Another priority, the report said, is to work on treatment. “Let’s start by treating drug addiction as a health issue, reducing drug demand through proven educational initiatives and legally regulating rather than criminalizing cannabis,” Cardoso said. The drug war at home The report provides an international perspective but certainly hits home in the U.S. too. The United States has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world. With less than 5 percent of the world’s population, we have almost a quarter of the world’s prisoners, according to Troy Williams article in the Fayetteville Observer. Several factors may be to blame for the disproportionate rate, according to experts, but it is clear that a large number of incarcerations are for drug-related crimes. President Richard Nixon officially declared the “War on Drugs” in 1971, and by now it has become the longest and most expensive war in American history. It is impossible to give an accurate account of the “drug war” without spotlighting race. The United States locks up a disproportionate amount of African-Americans by continuing to go after minor drug offenders. The “War on Drugs” has essentially become a war on African-Americans, said Williams. These drug policies overcrowd our prisons and contribute to the growing financial crisis. $100,000 of taxpayer money is spent to support a person sentenced to five years in prison for possession or sale of $50 worth of drugs. That does not include prosecution expenses. The “War on Drugs” may be at a hinging point. While federal officials have maintained their stance — under both Republican and Democratic administrations — throughout the years, state governments and voters have been approving new medical marijuana laws that are at odds with federal drug statutes. Even the changing political tides seem to be working against the “War on Drugs”. The rise of liberty-minded presidential candidates, such as Congressman Ron Paul and Gary Johnson reflect a portion of American society that seeks less government intervention in the lives of citizens. In the first GOP presidential debate held in South Carolina, Paul responded to the debate moderator Chris Wallace’s shock that he would suggest legalizing drugs, such as heroin. “What you’re inferring is, ‘You know what? If I legalize heroin tomorrow, everyone is going to use heroin.’ How many people here would use heroin if it were legal? I bet nobody would,” said Paul, adding sarcastically, “Oh yeah I need the government to take care of me. I don’t want to use heroin, so I need these laws [to stop me.]” Paul’s response was met with applause. “I never thought heroin would get an applause in South Carolina,” said Wallace. Thomas Jefferson was America’s most famous anti-government revolutionary

(NaturalNews) “A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of good government.” One of the most influential of our nation’s founding fathers was Thomas Jefferson, to whom the above quote is attributed and the man who was the primary author of the Declaration of Independence. Perhaps more than any other American founding father, Jefferson was a bona fide proponent of liberty who was inherently suspicious of a powerful central government and who once wrote in a private letter he had “sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.” Born in Albemarle County, Virginia, in 1746 to Peter Jefferson, a successful planter and surveyor, and Jane Randolph, who belonged to one of Virginia’s most prestigious families, the former U.S. president grew up well taken care of. He first studied at the College of William and Mary before reading law. In his mid-20s he inherited quite a bit of land from his father, on which he began building his famed estate, Monticello, and in 1772, just six years before he would take part in the birth of the United States, Jefferson married a widow, Martha Wayles Skelton. No public speaker, Jefferson was nonetheless a fluent writer, using his composition skills first as a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses and then as a member of the Continental Congress. He was 33 when he drafted the Declaration of Independence, ” regarded ever since as a charter of American and universal liberties .” Early on it was apparent that Jefferson was a champion of liberty and freedom. The dust and gunpowder smoke had barely cleared from the Revolutionary War when Jefferson, still based in Virginia, wrote a bill establishing religious freedom that was enacted in 1786. As the new nation formed its governmental institutions, Jefferson split early from the Federalists, America’s first national political party formed by Alexander Hamilton, because he believed its principles too strongly favored a strong national government while he supported giving state governments more power. As such, Jefferson drifted towards the Democratic Republican party, which was sympathetic to the revolutionary cause in France. In 1796 he came within three votes of being elected president, but he was named vice president though he was not an ally of President John Adams. Later, when he assumed the presidency in 1801, his leadership style reflected his small-government philosophy. He cut the size of the Army and Navy, got rid of an unpopular tax on whiskey (the source of the Whiskey Rebellion, which began in 1791), and managed to reduce the national debt by one-third. He also acted to protect the fledging nation’s interests. Jefferson dispatched a naval squadron to battle Barbary pirates who were attacking American shipping commerce in the Mediterranean Sea, and he increased the size of the United States by acquiring more land from France’s despotic leader, Napoleon, though the Constitution contained no specific language regarding expansion of the nation’s borders. Jefferson even managed to get a good deal on the purchase; Jefferson negotiated for about 500 million acres of land that wound up becoming part of 15 new states eventually, and all for about 3 cents per acre. After the purchase was finalized Jefferson commissioned Meriweather Lewis and William Clark to lead a military expedition to explore the new land. During Jefferson’s second term (1804-1808), he was faced with what to do about the Napoleonic Wars raging in Europe. England and France attempted to provoke the United States into conflict, as both interfered with American shipping and commerce. But Jefferson was determined to keep the young nation out of foreign conflicts. Although his solution – placing an embargo on American shipping – did not work out well and was unpopular, the nation did not involve itself in another conflict so soon after solidifying a functional government. When he finished his second term and peacefully relinquished power to his friend, James Madison, Jefferson retired to Montecello, where he continued his tradition of fostering liberty and public service. “I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them,” he once said. He went on to found the University of Virginia, and continued to reflect upon the grace of the new American republic, which he fully realized was as much a political experiment in its make-up as it was a miracle for its formation and functionality. Ironically, perhaps, even in death Jefferson’s life reflected his unending patriotism. He died on July 4, 1826 – 50 years to the day after the signing of the Declaration of Independence he authored – and just hours before his close friend, John Adams, passed away. Cognizant of the gift of American existence bestowed by him and his fellow revolutionaries on future generations of Americans, Jefferson was also fully aware of the responsibility those generations would assume in keeping the republic intact when he wrote in a letter to William Stephens Smith in Paris in 1878, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.” At his request, his tombstone reflected on his contributions and gifts to the new nation, not what he had received. It read: “HERE WAS BURIED THOMAS JEFFERSON, AUTHOR OF THE DECLARATION OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE, OF THE STATUTE OF VIRGINIA FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, AND FATHER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA.”

Why democracy is failing America

(NaturalNews) Democracy is the worst form of government, Sir Winston Churchill once said… except for every other form of government. In other words, all forms of government are atrociously bad, and democracy may merely be the least bad of the bunch. I certainly wouldn’t want to live under a dictatorship, socialism or communism. So I like the idea of democracy, and I wish it would work better for America. But it isn’t working. That much is clear. Democracy is failing America, and we can’t just blame it on the politicians and the corporations. People actually vote for their own self-destruction by electing professional liars to represent them. That’s where this article begins. Why democracy isn’t working for America At its core, the democratic process of electing representatives is a popularity contest . The voters inevitably end up supporting whichever lawmakers offer the best handouts right now , regardless of the long-term consequences to the nation. Voting, in other words, is a contest based on short-term rewards rather than long-term vision. Not surprisingly, when the voters go to the polls, they tend to elect the person who promises them the most right now . Now, it’s crucial to recognize this simple economic fact: No government can offer something to one person without first taking it from another . So the more handouts, entitlements and benefits any government offers, the more it must confiscate from others in order to meet its “obligations” to the voters. This creates a downward spiral of entitlements leading to inescapable debt. Because sooner or later, governments always run out of other people’s money . But that doesn’t stop the voting action which still boils down to a popularity contest to decide the leader who tells the best lies . When given a choice between a realistic candidate who says America is deep in debt (Ron Paul) and a fantasy-land candidate who says there’s nothing to worry about (almost everybody else), most voters will choose the fantasy candidate… especially if it means more money in their pockets. The right course of action is too unpopular What’s desperately lacking in all this, of course, is the far more important truth that when a nation is in financial trouble (and environmental trouble, health care trouble, etc.), only tough decisions will ever turn it around. And those tough decisions are, by definition, unpopular decisions . Huh? We have to consume less? Receive fewer benefits? Pay higher taxes? Make the wealthy corporations pay their fair share? Say it isn’t so… Not surprisingly, in a free and open democracy, tough, unpopular decisions will almost never be supported by the majority of voters . That’s because most people are simply selfish. They are far more concerned about their own immediate benefits than the future they might be handing down to their children or grandchildren. So there is zero willingness to make the tough decisions necessary to save the country. The voters, in other words, tend to vote out of their own short-term interests rather than the long-term viability of the nation as a whole. That’s why democracy is failing America. And that’s partly why America is headed toward a near-certain collapse in the not-too-distant future. A President who tells the truth and says we have to cut government by 80% to balance the budget is simply not electable. Too many people have their hands in the cookie jar. Too many voters depend on the government to send them checks, and far too many wealthy corporations are entirely dependent on government enforcement of monopolies and subsidies for their own survival. Big Pharma, for example, would shrink by at least 90% if not for the government’s support of the industry. So electing a President who will actually halt the financial bleeding of America will never happen . Sure, it might happen in a nation with a highly educated population. That’s why education is so important to the long-term survival of any nation. But America isn’t a highly-educated nation. Probably half of America’s high school graduates can’t do basic math. So the concept of compounded interest on the national debt is simply beyond their understanding and doesn’t seem real to them. They are short-term consumers because that’s the way they’ve been trained. That’s the way they think. That’s the way they calculate. And that’s the way they vote. Think about it: Your average consumer will spend $4 on a pack of two AA batteries when they could spend $10 and get 8 AA batteries of the exact same brand and capacity. To most consumers, $4 is cheaper than $10, so they just spend the $4 and don’t consider the cost per battery. People don’t do the math! And when they vote, they don’t think it through. They vote based on popularity, not rational thought. As a result, America today is a cesspool of lawmakers, Presidents and bureaucrats who merely weave elaborate lies to feed the public for as long as they can get away with it. There is hardly a shred of truth left in anything coming out of Washington D.C. these days. We are so far beyond the point of actually fixing the problems and turning this country around that most of the intelligent people are now focused on getting ready to “ride out the reset.” The dictatorship we definitely don’t want At this point, the only real way to save America’s future is to force a set of tough decisions upon the people by way of a strong dictatorship — and I am absolutely opposed to such a thing because it would destroy the few remaining freedoms we still enjoy today. You could, of course, try to educate the populace about freedom, fiscal responsibility and the value of long-term strategic thinking rather than short-term rewards, but that would require an entire cultural shift spanning at least two generations. Because let’s face it, Americans have been trained in the philosophy of “instant gratification” for at least two generations. It’s all about having more and having it now . You can’t reverse that kind of thinking overnight. You can’t reverse instant gratification thinking instantly, in other words. The end result will be collapse So what are we left with? There’s no way out of this except collapse . Michael Ruppert gets it (www.collapsenet.com). Gerald Celente gets it (www.TrendsResearch.com) . Alex Jones gets it (www.InfoWars.com). But most people don’t get it. In fact, the mainstream short-term thinkers and voters don’t get it at all. And the reason they don’t get it is because they are the problem from the start! They’re the ones who voted without thinking and elected professional liars rather than problem solvers. John F. Kennedy was probably the last President who attempted to actually tell the truth, and they shot him in the head for asking too many questions about the Federal Reserve (and other topics). After that moment in history, it has all been a series of escalating lies to the point where all the presidents in recent memory are now little more than staged public relations fictional characters playing a role in the hit comedy TV series called “America, The Leader of the Free World!” It’s a comedy series, however… not a reality show. And the mainstream media is playing the role of the comedy news source in the comedy TV series. Virtually nothing the media prints about health, the economy or world news has any basis in fact whatsoever. It is merely the regurgitation of crafted spin pieces and official deceptions designed to keep the voters entertained a while longer while the money commanders loot the economy before the coming collapse. Lessons to be learned from recent history Why does any of this matter? At one level, it doesn’t. The collapse of America has been set in motion, and there’s actually very little you or I can do to stop it. Emailing your congressman or signing a petition is futile. Even the act of voting is essentially an exercise in supporting a system of government that’s already on life support and nearing its expiration date. It doesn’t really make much difference at this point, except for local and state elections, of course. Because the bigger picture here is that the experiment of Democracy has failed on a grand scale. It’s not obvious to everyone yet (because few people are long-term thinkers), but it soon will be. Democracy doesn’t work if your voters are mostly short-term thinkers who can’t do math and whose selfishness outweighs any sense of leaving something of value for the next generation. The American democracy experiment will soon crash land, and when we’re sorting through the wreckage, all the shocked and bewildered people will be asking, “How could this have happened? Everything was going along just fine…” But it wasn’t just fine. Most of it was all a Big Lie, and lies have a way of catching up with you. America’s democracy was a noble concept. And it could have worked if the population had been better educated and the corporations less greedy (and the lawmakers less whore-like, I suppose). But today it has failed, and now it’s only a matter of watching it implode and then figuring out a better solution for creating a more sustainable nation for our collective future. Perhaps it’s time we threw away the idea of voters electing “representatives” in its totality and instead created a nation of sovereign citizens who operate from a completely different mindset. Who says we need a federal government at all? Wouldn’t most of us be freer, healthier, wealthier and happier if the federal government didn’t even exist? Sure, we need a national defense but even that could be coordinated by the states. Remember, the “United States” means a group of states who are united in their intentions. It does not mean a federal tyrant that overrules the states. The “United States” of America is supposed to be a system of agreement and open trade among fifty sovereign geopolitical entities, not one oppressive system that demands compliance with its corrupt, power-hungry agenda. These are some of the issues people will no doubt be pondering when the current experiment in democracy implodes. Don’t be surprised when that day comes, of course. It’s already past the point of no return. Be ready to take part in the discussions of what I call The Next Society that will inevitably be born out of the coming collapse. And hopefully we can figure out a way to improve on the concept of “democracy” for a brighter (and freer) future.

Doctors engaged in widespread medical fraud at Madison protests with fake doctor’s notes

(NaturalNews) If you’re an eighth grader and you show up to school with a fake doctor’s note excusing your suspicious absence the day before, you would probably face detention or some other punishment, including a possible investigation for truancy. But if you’re a teacher and you call in “sick” with a fake doctor’s note handed to you at a protest in Madison, Wisconsin, then that’s apparently okay… because that’s what countless public school teachers have been doing the past week. Masterminding the effort are rogue medical doctors committing medical fraud by carrying out obviously contrived conversations with protestors then writing them doctors’ notes to excuse them from work for such things as “fatigue” or “emotional stress.” What we have, then, is a tag team of fraud : The teachers who have abandoned their public duties and abandoned their students by calling in “sick,” and the medical doctors who are promoting the whole charade by pretending to diagnose these teachers with some sort of ailment that gets them off the hook. This sends a really powerful message back home to all the students in the Madison public school system: “Do as we say, not as we do.” Revoke the medical licenses of these fraudulent doctors It’s really just a bunch of adults acting like children , of course. Madison public system schoolteachers are already among the best paid in the country, taking home an average of $56,000 a year in salary, plus other benefits that bring the total to over $100,000 in compensation (http://maciverinstitute.com/2010/03/average-mps-teacher-compensation-tops-100kyear/). That’s a pretty lucrative deal for schoolteachers. You’d think that for a six-figure compensation, they might have some loyalty to actually showing up at work and teaching the schoolchildren. There’s a lesson in social studies for ya. For the doctors, there should obviously be an investigation and an effort to strip their medical licenses for practicing what can only be called “quack medicine.” Can you imagine the outcry if a bunch of herbalists or alternative medicine practitioners showed up and started writing excuse notes for these protestors? That would be rightly called “quackery.” But somehow it seems to be okay when medical doctors engage in that same quackery. One YouTube video features an especially arrogant medical doctor claiming he is engaging in “private conversations” with patients and that his conversations are protected by state law (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pDy3cvzDHs). Of course, he fails to mention he is engaging in these conversations in a public place , in the context of what is essentially a political protest, absent any context of a hospital, clinic or emergency room. Another video shows a medical doctor providing an excuse note with the diagnosis of “Sick of the whole thing.” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q65X9xPjJQk) A third video shows Madison doctors handing out a fake excuse note to none other than Andrew Breitbart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQRcNBWTOr8). It is doctors like these, with their flimsy and fraudulent diagnoses, who are probably the same ones engaged in widespread Medicare and Medicaid fraud . For all we know, these medical consultations taking place at Madison might actually be billed to Wisconsin state Medicaid for reimbursement! What’s clear from this fiasco is that both teachers and doctors in Madison will commit fraud when it serves their purposes . Do teachers have a legitimate gripe? This is all separate from the question of whether their grievance has legitimate standing. The political issue at hand is the attempt by the Wisconsin legislature to eliminate specific collective bargaining rights from unionized state workers. Clearly, this is a highly contentious issue, but Wisconsin, like dozens of other U.S. states, is facing a financial catastrophe if it cannot find ways to reduce the annual growth of salaries and benefits to state workers. If these efforts fail, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has already explained the state would be forced to fire 10,000 or more state workers. The issue isn’t whether Wisconsin wants to pay more money to state workers, but the far harsher reality of whether Wisconsin has any money left to pay state workers. This is a question that will be increasingly facing lawmakers in California, Texas, Illinois and many other states that are on the brink of financial disaster. That’s why you can expect more rallies, more protests and perhaps even economic riots to begin breaking out across the USA over the next few years. People get angry when their salaries or benefits are cut, or when they are threatened with a loss of bargaining rights. Yet if there’s one thing that unions have never quite grasped, it’s economic reality . You can’t pay out what you don’t have. And unlike the federal government with its private Fed counterfeit money presses, the states can’t print their own counterfeit money to pay people off. Will the protests turn violent? What we’re looking at here, folks, is a collision between state workers and economic reality . That collision is going to get increasingly nasty — and perhaps even violent — in the coming months and years. If things continue to heat up, all the fraudulent medical doctors currently handing out notes at these protests will soon find themselves doing actual medical work by treating riot wounds in a medical triage scenario. Wisconsin has already invoked the National Guard to track down and retrieve the missing Democratic lawmakers who fled the state to avoid holding a vote. It doesn’t take much of an imagination to see where this whole thing could escalate into violence at some point. Now, for the bigger question: Do government workers deserve more money? Of course they do. Everybody does. We should all live in a world where money rains down from Heaven and nobody has to work at all. Curiously, that imaginary realm does not exist. And it’s a good thing, too, because if it did, nothing would ever get done because nobody would have any incentive to work at all. You think schoolteachers actually enjoy their jobs? If so, you don’t know enough schoolteachers. We live in a world with limited resources , and cities, states and entire nations are now finding themselves with their financial backs against the wall, forced to make extremely unpopular decisions to prevents their states from going bankrupt. It is those decisions that are going to lead to sheer desperation among some ex-government workers. The phrase “going postal” comes to mind as one possible response we may have to deal with as these payroll cuts go even deeper. When will the medical doctors call in sick? I find it especially fascinating that medical doctors are actually encouraging these protests by committing medical fraud, right in broad daylight (and on video!), seemingly without any concern that their actions violate not only their Hippocratic Oath but quite possibly state law, too. What we really need to see is all the doctors going on strike and refusing to show up for work. Because that’s where we would actually see a decrease in mortality due to pharmaceuticals, chemotherapy and dangerous surgical procedures. After all, we need schoolteachers in society, but we don’t really need most conventional doctors (except the ones in the emergency rooms). And all these striking doctors can spend their days writing each other fraudulent excuse notes to make sure they still get “sick pay” from their employers. And, truth be told, if Wisconsin really wants to save money, it should be ending its financial support of Big Pharma and the whole “sick care” industry. That would save the state so much money that it could readily afford to preserve the collective bargaining rights of schoolteachers, firemen and police officers.

How Congress helped created the very mental illness that resulted in the Giffords shooting

(NaturalNews) Giffords was assaulted while doing what more representatives in Washington should be doing: Talking with their constituents at home in a public place, right out in the open. In an age where many members of Congress hide behind closed doors and spend more time meeting with corporate lobbyists than talking with their constituents, Giffords regularly took time to talk to the people she sought to represent in Washington. The sad fallout from this shooting in Tucson is that more members of Congress are now going to hide behind closed doors and refuse to interact with the public. There are psychos out there, after all. But where did all the psychos come from? Why Congress bears some responsibility for America’s epidemic of mental illness Congress bears a tremendous responsibility for creating those psychos in the first place, and that’s where this story takes a turn for the ugly. How could such a claim be true? Read on… It is Congress that has allowed the FDA to continue censoring the science behind nutritional supplements while pushing psychiatric drugs on children, for example. Did you know that vitamin D deficiency promotes schizophrenia? (http://www.naturalnews.com/003069.html) Did you know that most of the school shootings in the United States involve young males with a history of psychiatric drug use? (http://www.naturalnews.com/025826_Antidepressants_school_shootings.html) Did you know that SSRI drugs (antidepressants) often promote violent thoughts, especially in young males? (http://www.naturalnews.com/020787.html) I have very high confidence that a blood test of Loughner would reveal striking nutritional deficiencies combined with blood sugar imbalances. His photo reveals pale white skin, for example — a common indicator of chronic vitamin D deficiency. Did you know that the vast majority of violent criminals currently serving time in U.S. prisons suffer from blood sugar imbalances caused by a lifetime of junk food consumption? (Sodas, processed sugar, etc.) These are all issues on which Congress could have made a positive impact over the last several decades but refused to because corporate interests were at stake. The junk food, pharmaceutical and sick-care industries all have powerful lobbyists influencing the votes of members of Congress, and very few members of Congress have ever taken any real action to reduce the exposure of American children and teens to dangerous foods, additives, medications and chemicals that actually promote mental illness. Brain-damaging chemicals remain legal in America When it comes to brain-damaging chemicals, Congress has also stood by and done virtually nothing to protect the American people from fluoride, brain-damaging adjuvants in vaccines, mercury dental fillings, dangerous chemicals in personal care products and mind-damaging chemicals in home construction materials (wanna live in a FEMA trailer, anyone?) While decrying the terrible health crisis facing America today — which includes mental health — Congress has stood by and done absolutely nothing to actually improve the fundamental health of the American people. No, the Obama health care reforms don’t count, because all they do is grant a monopoly over sick-care to the conventional medical industry while completely ignoring disease prevention, nutrition and other natural therapies that can often reverse chronic disease. If anything, Obama’s health care reforms would make mental illness worse because, by forcing Americans to purchase conventional health insurance, they deny Americans the discretionary income they might normally spend on nutritional supplements, organic foods or other natural therapies that can help prevent mental illness. Instead of actually improving the health of the American people, Congress has jumped in bed with the pharmaceutical industry and handed Big Pharma a monopoly over sick-care, written into law with Obama’s health care reform (and also backed by the Bush administration before that). Notably, this decision was aggressively promoted by the Democrats and even Gabrielle Giffords herself, who voted for Obamacare. (Do not twist this into an interpretation that I blame Giffords for Loughner’s actions. She deserves no such blame. Congress as a whole, however, has played an important role in allowing mental illness to fester in America while suppressing nutritional therapies and cures that could help end that particular epidemic.) The illusion of mental health “treatment” in America Only a very small number of congressional members have ever done anything to support nutritional therapies or health freedoms that would genuinely improve the physical and mental health of the American people. Rep. Ron Paul , notably, has offered a Health Freedom Protection Act for several years now, but that bill never has enough support by other members of Congress to even make it to the floor for a debate. Rep Dennis Kucinich , on the Democratic side, is a supporter of natural health, and he deserves credit for trying to carry such concepts into his actions there, too. Aside from a few exceptions, Congress has, by and large, has done nothing to support any improvement in the mental health of the American people . And funding more conventional “mental health screening” doesn’t count because, as intelligent observers well know, mental health “screening” is merely a profit-driven patient recruiting scheme used by pharmaceutical companies to put more people on psychiatric drugs , many of which actually promote violent thoughts as a common side effect. (http://www.naturalnews.com/027425_drugs_drugs_violence.html) So now we have members of Congress essentially being violently assaulted by the very people they have historically abandoned with their Big Pharma favoritism and refusal to embrace health freedom in America. It remains illegal in America, for example, for an Omega-3 supplement manufacturer to tell the truth that omega-3 supplements work as well or better than antidepressants at reducing the symptoms of depression. (http://www.naturalnews.com/016353.html) The FDA considers such a claim, even if backed by links to scientific studies, to be a criminal act . And the Congress has never bothered to exercise oversight with the FDA to prevent such outlandish oppression of scientific speech about nutrition that could really work to reduce mental illness in America. Why nutrition affects mental health: Brain function 101 The brain, after all, is a physical organ fed by the blood supply. And the blood is comprised of the food you eat, the beverages you drink, and the medications you take. Everything you swallow affects your brain in one way or another. This simple truth is still not widely recognized in conventional medicine, nor is it common knowledge among the American people, most of which continue to feed their children processed, nutritionally depleted junk foods. And then they wonder why little Jonny is angry all the time. So they put him on ADHD drugs, SSRI drugs and other psychiatric chemicals. Before long, little Jonny is emptying a 30-round magazine into his classmates at school. And the parents, teachers, Sheriffs and members of Congress stand around scratching their heads, wondering to themselves, “Why does this happen?” So they blame Rush Limbaugh. Gee. Is the root cause of this really so complex to figure it out? See, a Glock pistol does not fire unless a finger pulls the trigger. That finger is attached to a system of muscles and neurons that are connected to the human brain. That human brain, which makes the decision to pull the trigger, is fed by the human blood supply. That human blood supply is literally manufactured from whatever that person eats: School lunches, Diet Coke with aspartame, Twinkies, GMO corn, High Fructose Corn Syrup, MSG in canned soups, artificial food coloring chemicals, and so on. So you have a chain of causality here: The food affects the blood, which affects the brain, which affects the “mental health” which affects the finger which pulls the trigger to cause senseless violence. Of course, there are other factors, too: Social factors, family, violent video games (perhaps), exposure to heavy metals such as mercury (from dental fillings, seafood, etc.), influences from peers, and so on. I’m not claiming that food alone is responsible for this shooting, but I am asserting, with confidence, that what Loughner consumed in terms of food, beverages and medicine absolutely DID have an impact on his mental health . That fact is undeniable. What is also undeniable is that the U.S. Congress has done virtually nothing to improve the fundamental health of the American people. Not that it’s their responsibility in the first place, but at the very least they should get out of the way and allow nutritional supplement companies to make scientifically-substantiated claims about the health benefits of their products. Banning junk food in schools (for real, not the fake ban like Clinton did) would also be a good start. (http://www.naturalnews.com/030811_terrorists_food_supply.html) Dismantling the entire U.S. Food and Drug Administration would be a far more effective action. It would unleash a golden age of health freedom in America and cause rates of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and mental illness to plummet over the next decade. (Yes, the FDA causes tremendous harm to the health of the American people.) (http://www.naturalnews.com/001894.html) America’s epidemic of mental illness This is largely why we have an epidemic of mental illness in America today. And that epidemic of mental illness, like all epidemics, has a cause. But what are the real factors that cause such widespread mental illness in America? In answering this question, you’re forced to consider things that poison the brain , which is after all a physical organ that relies on healthy biochemistry to operate correctly. So the right question here is, “What kinds of things in society today harm brain function? That answer reveals a very long list: Chemical substances: • Psychiatric drugs • Prescription medications • Over-the-counter drugs • Many street drugs • Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides in the food • Chemical food additives • Off-gassing of toxic chemicals from furniture • Toxic lawn care chemicals • Fluoride in the water • Chemicals and preservatives in vaccines • GMO foods • Mercury in fish and seafood (makes you crazy) • Chemicals in personal care products and cosmetics Brain programming: • Violent video games • Violent television programming • Military indoctrination programs that desensitize people to violence • Violent imagery on mainstream news programs • Violent imagery in Hollywood movies • “Militainment” – the transformation of war into killing entertainment through the mass media If you combine all these factors with widespread nutritional deficiencies, you will inevitably create mental patients out of people who would have otherwise been harmless. From there, it’s not difficult for a mentally deranged person bent on violence to locate a weapon of some sort — a machete, sword, firearm, knife or even a Buick — and then use it to commit violence against other human beings. I believe that any honest discussion about Loughner and mental health in America must embrace these critical factors. If we are to prevent future violence from happening again, we must reduce the number of people in America who suffer from mental illness. And I assure you that can only be accomplished through a revolution in food and nutrition . We are what we eat We are what we eat. Loughner was insane. It is no coincidence that our factory farming meat operations in America are similarly insane. It is no coincidence that mainstream laundry detergent products contain cancer-causing fragrance chemicals. It is no coincidence that our food supply is largely made of heavily processed, refined ingredients that have been nutritionally depleted. Loughner is the “refined white sugar” poster boy . He’s the Wonder Boy of Wonder Bread (refined white flour). He represents the ultimate extreme of what happens when you raise a kid on processed foods and angry meat products produced through the committing of violence to cows, pigs and chickens. Yes, it does matter. When you produce your food through violence, you tend to get violent behavior in those who consume it. But it’s so much easier to ignore the real causes, isn’t it? Of course, this article is fifty years ahead of mainstream thinking in America. Instead of considering these simple and obvious truths (well, they’re obvious to NaturalNews readers, anyway), Congress will instead seek to ban guns, or ban free speech, or somehow attempt to invoke some moronic reactionary law that will completely ignore the root causes of mental illness in America. Because that’s what Congress does best. And that brings me to the final conclusion here: Einstein once said the definition of insanity (mental illness) is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Yet isn’t that exactly what the U.S. Congress is doing? They keep favoring the pharmaceutical industry, the junk food industry and the toxic chemical companies while ignoring the real health needs of the American people. And yet they somehow expect the outcome to be different. By Einstein’s definition, the U.S. Congress also suffers from a kind of mental illness . They act out of an “insanity of the status quo.” And make no mistake, this insanity will continue for as long as our nation continues to raise our children on junk foods, factory-farmed meat products and psychiatric medications. Mental health can be cured in America. But not by national leaders who are themselves expressing their own pattern of mental illness through their legislative priorities. To cure mental illness in America, we need to first address the mental health of those who make our laws. If we do not, I sadly predict such random acts of violence will continue to be undertaken by the very same young men who have been abandoned, poisoned and exploited by the food, drug and chemical industries that now dominate America’s legislative landscape. You can’t stop bullets with laws. But you can legalize health freedom in America so that far fewer people feel the insane urge to resort to the use of bullets.

In wake of Giffords shooting, the mere act of questioning the government now being demonized

(NaturalNews) In the aftermath of the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson yesterday, the mainstream media is now desperately trying to blame the attack on “anti-government” sentiment. USA Today ran a tabloid journalism piece that selectively cherry-picked certain phrases used by Jared Lee Loughner in order to create the impression that he was some sort of anti-government nut. Loughner was actually a mentally deranged individual who ranted about everything from “grammar” to imaginary birds (http://www.naturalnews.com/030953_Gabrielle_Giffords_shooting.html). His state of mind, as evidenced from his YouTube posts, seems incapable of holding any traditionally-recognized political philosophy. The Associated Press, meanwhile, actually blamed the “political climate” for the shooting, saying, “The nation’s caustic political climate has become a suspect of sorts in the rampage that left six dead and a lawmaker critically injured in Arizona.” The implication from these kinds of stories is that if you criticize the government, you therefore promote violence . That is, of course, a silly idea, especially considering the fact that the government nearly always uses the threat of violence against its own citizens to get what it wants . To use the example of Obamacare, the law itself says that if citizens don’t buy health insurance, the U.S. government will essentially extract a large sum of money from you by force through the use of IRS agents and, if necessary, the government seizure of your assets. On the health care front, remember it was the U.S. government that committed medical violence against children by forcing teens with cancer to undergo chemotherapy against their will (http://www.naturalnews.com/019617.html). Various local governments also routinely threaten vegan parents with having their children taken away by Child Protective Services if they don’t start feeding their children processed factory foods such as hamburgers. The FDA, for its part, routinely sends extremely threatening letters to natural product companies (cherry growers, walnut growers, green tea importers, etc.) that contain extremely threatening language that imply company executives will be “criminally prosecuted” by the FDA, or have their assets seized, or even have their businesses shut down if they don’t agree to admit to crimes they never even committed (selling “unapproved drugs” which are really just cherries). (http://www.naturalnews.com/019366.html) No one is surprised when the government uses the threat of violence to get what it wants these days. Today, the government actually commits felony crimes against the American people on a daily basis! It’s called the “enhanced pat-down” by the TSA. If you did the exact same thing to another person at your office, you would be arrested as a “violent criminal” and charged with sexual assault. The FDA, too, has a long history of armed raids against innocents (http://www.naturalnews.com/021791.html) who were merely trying to help others improve their health with the power of nutritional supplements. These raids are always conducted with the use of firearms. The FDA even sent agents into Ecuador last year to illegally kidnap Greg Caton (http://www.naturalnews.com/027750_Greg_Caton_FDA.html) and fly him out of the country, in complete violation of international law. This, too, was conducted with the use of multiple armed agents wielding firearms. More recently, the U.S. government led an armed raid on a Venice, California food cooperative selling raw milk (http://www.naturalnews.com/030136_Rawesome_foods_raid.html). When the government commits acts of violence, it’s okay? There are many other examples of similar acts of violence by the government committed against the People of America, but it all brings me to this important question: Why are people so outraged when citizens commit acts of violence against a government official while relatively few people seem to care when the government commits acts of violence against the People? The outrage expressed in the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords is entirely justified, as violence is never the answer to disputes. Yet shouldn’t we all be similarly outraged when the government uses violence or the threat of violence to achieve its own political aims with the People? The mainstream media is dedicating a tremendous amount of coverage to this story on Giffords, and that is certainly appropriate for its own reasons. But did that same media cover the armed raid of a raw milk food store in California? Of course not. Or how about the story that the U.S. government is conspiring with the GMO industry to threaten “a list of retaliatory targets” in Europe who resist the introduction of GMOs there? (http://www.naturalnews.com/030828_GMOs_Wikileaks.html) You won’t find that story in the New York Times, USA Today, LA Times or any other U.S. newspaper that I’m aware of. The language used by the U.S. ambassador to France — the “list of retaliatory targets” — is precisely the kind of language that Sarah Palin is now accused of using against her political opponents in America. Sarah is being called out as an instigator of this shooting, yet I’m not aware of a single mainstream news outlet in America that bothered to cover this story of the U.S. government’s GMO conspiracy to push toxic crops into Europe. By the way, I’m not a Sarah Palin supporter, so that’s not where this is coming from. I’m a Ron Paul supporter, but now it seems that even supporting something like a desire to audit the Fed or honor the Constitution is going to be characterized as “radical” speech that will somehow be blamed for these acts of violence carried out by the mentally deranged. Non-violence must be a two-way street This is not meant in any way to excuse this act of violence against Giffords and those who attended her meeting. I’m already on the record condemning this act, and in every case that I have pushed for grassroots advocacy on this website, it has been done with the strict urging of non-violent action . Yet, unlike so many in the mainstream media, I believe non-violence should work both ways. I believe the United States government should stop using violence and the threat of violence against its own People in its efforts to oppress food freedom, to vaccinate children against their parents’ will, and to force people to buy into a health care plan they do not wish to purchase or use. If you do not yet understand that the government uses violence as a matter of course to get its way, then I challenge you to stop paying your property taxes for a few years and see what happens. Before long, your property will be taken from you (seized) and then sold in order to pay your “liability” to the government. And when they come to remove you from your property, will they bring happy people bearing flowers? Nope. They bring men with guns. The guns, of course, are at their sides to let you know that your compliance is not voluntary. (I pay my property taxes, by the way, and I’m not opposed to financially supporting local government where it makes sense. I use this as a simple example to point out one way in which the threat of violence is used by government.) Real peace requires governments to be kept in check If we truly condemn violence, we must condemn it from all sources, including our own governments which are, strictly speaking, the most violent and murderous organizations in the history of the world. Virtually every mass-murder that has taken place in human history has been carried out by a government claiming to be working for “a better world.” (Hitler, Stalin, Mao, you name it…) This is why the most peaceful society is one in which the government’s power is not absolute , and where the government is held in check by the citizenry who watch over the actions of government. This is also precisely why the founding fathers of the United States of America specifically created a limited federal government structure while guaranteeing certain freedoms and rights to the People as enumerated in the Bill of Rights. When Bush was in office, the government took huge steps to weaken that Bill of Rights with the setting up of secret military prisons and the Patriot Act which allows the government to arrest and detain you indefinitely , without being charged, with no attorney, for any reason they claim is related to terrorism. The Patriot Act, of course, exists in complete violation of the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution. President Obama actually ran on the platform that he would shut down Guantanamo Bay and end the secret military prisons. (There’s another broken campaign promise, eh?) Statistically speaking, the risk of violent acts occurring in any given country is far, far greater when governments rule over their people with absolute tyranny (Mussolini, Hitler, Pol Pot, etc.) than in a more balanced scale of power where governments must answer to the People. The most important way to prevent violence over the long term is to keep government in check and make sure that its power never nullifies the rights of the People. This is not a conservative nor liberal point of view. This is a practical peace philosophy that recognizes this simple inescapable fact: Most of the violence committed in our world has been committed by governments against their own people (or against the people of other nations). As someone who finds the application of violence to resolve problems deeply offensive, I am appalled by the mainstream media’s “selective” outcry of violent acts in certain selected situations while they ignore the threat of violence used every day by the government itself. The violent resolution of disagreements is unacceptable in a civilized society, yet the media apparently has no problem whatsoever covering their eyes and allowing violence to be committed against the People by the government. Stop government violence against innocents That is the real tragedy here. How many more innocents must be killed by acts of violence committed by the government before we will wake up and realize that peace is a two-way street? When the government stops allowing the poisoning our water supply (fluoride), poisoning our food (GMOs), and the mass poisoning of our children (vaccines and psychiatric medication), the anti-government rhetoric will quickly reflect such changes and naturally morph into something far less confrontational. There is a sensible reason why the anti-government rhetoric of today is so strong: Because government is not listening to the People . When the federal government bails out rich Wall Street banksters to the tune of trillions of dollars while everyday people are losing their jobs and homes, people tend to get irritated (to say the least). When people are treated like cattle by the TSA and sexually molested for merely trying to travel on an airplane, they tend to not like that very much. When farmers are arrested for selling raw cow’s milk to their neighbors, and people who carry homemade chocolate are arrested and treated like drug smugglers, it tends to tee off more than a few citizens. And when the Obama administration forces us all into buying an insurance police for a sick-care system that we neither use, nor support, nor believe in, people can get downright angry about it. This is not irrational; it is entirely understandable. And it deserves open debate which must include people being able to stand up and point out what’s wrong with various government laws, or policies, or regulatory agencies. This is part of the Democratic process . Maybe instead of asking why so many people are speaking out against the government, the media should be asking why the government has so little respect for the rights and freedoms of the People in the first place. And perhaps instead of condemning the People so often, the government should spend a little time trying to figure out how to serve the People . That is, of course, what government was supposed to do in the first place: Serve the interests of the People. Questioning your government is necessary in any functioning democracy To the extent that government continues to betray the People (FDA, TSA, CDC, etc.), it should surprise no one that the People aren’t happy about it. Questioning government is one of the most patriotic acts in which an American citizen can engage, because it is that questioning — and a demand for accountability — that forces bureaucrats to answer to the People in some small way. It is shameful and inexcusable that the mainstream media would now exploit this act of extreme violence committed in Arizona and use it as a condemnation of those who seek to keep their government in check by asking intelligent questions. It’s almost as if the media now wants to order Americans to “shut up and do what you’re told” because Big Government has all the answers for you. Just take your vaccine shots, buy your rip-off sick-care insurance and keep sweating away to earn a few dollars while the Federal Reserve effectively steals your money by creating trillions of dollars that are used to bail out the world’s wealthy elite. If the mere act of questioning the integrity of the federal government is now going to be blamed for every violent act, then we truly live under a society where the insanity of Jared Loughner has infected the minds of the newsmakers, too. It is a cowardly act to hide behind these deaths in Arizona while shouting out, “The questioners caused this! No more questioning the government!” This is precisely what the government-controlled press announced in the Nazi era. Anyone who dared to ask questions about Hitler’s ever-expanding power was arrested and (usually) put to death. I believe this is a time when, more than ever, we all need to be standing up and asking questions such as: Is the FDA’s censorship against healthy nutrition part of the reason we have so much mental illness in America? There’s a question that makes the mainstream media extremely uncomfortable. Pharmaceutical advertising money is at stake, of course, and the last thing the media wants is people asking questions that really threaten to expose the truth behind why so many people in America suffer from mental illness. Hint: It has everything to do with nutrition, which has everything to do with the FDA’s tyrannical censorship of free speech about nutritional therapies. We’ll cover more about that in a follow-up story. In the mean time, keep questioning government . It is your duty as a free citizen to do so. It is essential to the health and long-term sustainability of any democracy. It is patriotic and fundamentally necessary for the protection of freedom in a functioning democracy. Do not let the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords be the beginning of America’s jack-booted march down the dark path of stifling Free Speech and demonizing rational dissent. My heart goes out to Giffords, her staffers and the others who were killed or wounded in this senseless act of violence. I literally pray for a world where all such violence comes to end, including government acts of violence against the People.

How the 2010 election results will affect health care and health freedom

(NaturalNews) In what appears to be a broad backlash against Obama-era policies, U.S. voters swept Republicans into office in record numbers in last night’s election. As of this writing, Republicans had clearly taken the House but failed to win a majority in the Senate. This effectively ends the Democratic super-majority alignment among the House, Senate and White House. So what will this mean for health-conscious consumers and medical patients? Will this result in any improvements on the health freedom front? A clue is found in the behavior of Big Pharma and health insurance companies. Even before the election was over, they were already focusing new efforts on lobbying Republicans, according to the Wall Street Journal (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704865104575588842204829432.html?mod=googlenews_wsj). The medical industry, you seem doesn’t care whether Democrats or Republicans are in office. It can buy influence with either party. Remember, it was the Bush Administration that handed Big Pharma a Medicare drug monopoly. Obama merely expanded and extended that monopoly with Obamacare health reform. Ballot measures challenge federal health insurance mandates In two states — Colorado and Arizona — voters weighed in on ballot measures designed to effectively block federal mandates that will force citizens to buy health insurance (or be penalized by the IRS). Arizona’s Proposition 106 appears to have passed, meaning that Arizona will soon find itself in a Tenth Amendment showdown with the federal government over whether the feds can force Arizona citizens to buy federally-mandated health insurance. (Gee, the fact that we’re even talking about this show you just how overreaching the federal government has become the days, doesn’t it?) In Colorado, Amendment 63 appears to have been defeated. Sadly, this means the state is surrendering its citizens over to the interventions of federally-run Obamacare regulations. Colorado has apparently forgotten that all-important part of the Bill of Rights which says, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” That’s the Tenth Amendment, of course. But even this amendment seems increasingly irrelevant to a federal government that chooses to ignore all the amendments in the Bill of Rights. Emergence of the Tea Party? One notable new element in play in this year’s elections was the Tea Party , which has emerged as a force to be reckoned with. The Tea Party believes in lower taxes, smaller government, stronger border protections, halting debt spending and the elimination of special interest groups (among other things). The Tea Party does not maintain a strong direct position on health freedom or the censorship of nutritional science by the FDA, but it can be reasonably inferred that the Tea Party’s opposition to “intrusive government” likely overlaps many of key issues on the health freedom front. Make no mistake, however: The Tea Party is not synonymous with health freedom. In fact, some of the strongest supporters of health freedom are from the far left. The issues of health freedom, banning GMOs, and ending seed monopolies seem to cross all the traditional party boundaries. Supporters of such fundamental freedoms range from tie-dyed hippies to ultra-conservative church-goers. What all these people have in common is a desire for freedom in the realms of seeds, food and medicine. Interestingly, the political party that most closely aligns itself with principles of health freedom and food freedom is the Libertarian party. Congressman Ron Paul is, of course, a libertarian at heart, and he is the sponsor of the Health Freedom Protection Act (which Democrats and Republicans refuse to bring to a vote). Libertarians have a longstanding fundamental belief in individual sovereignty and true freedom combined with drastically reduced government spending (and a much smaller government altogether). Interestingly, Rand Paul has apparently succeeded in his bid to become a U.S. Senator. He bridges the gap between Republicans and Libertarians by claiming to be “not quite” a Libertarian. It’s not yet clear what his final position is on health freedom, but he’s clearly in favor of drastically cutting government spending and reducing the size of government. He is also strongly opposed to Obamacare mandates. Conventional medicine depends on Big Government Make no mistake about all this, though: The survival of the cancer industry, Big Pharma and the entire conventional medical complex depends almost entirely on Big Government dishing out the cash via Medicare, Medicaid and vaccine purchases. Big Government is also the enforcer of conventional medicine through the FDA and FTC, both of which seek to criminalize any systems of healing or natural medicine that compete with the pharmaceutical industry. Cutting the size of government — regardless of which party takes credit for it — is probably the most effective way to end Big Pharma’s dangerous monopoly over the medical system and restore health freedom to the American people. It has become painfully clear over the last two decades that neither Republican nor Democratic legislators will bite the Big Pharma hand that feeds them. To really sock it to Big Pharma and unleash health freedom in America, it’s going to take a drastic cut in the size of government. That cut will almost certainly never be delivered by legislators or the voters… government will only shrink through catastrophe — a sudden collapse of funding due to a rapid devaluation of the dollar and the inability to sell off new government debt to international investors. That day is no doubt coming, and I pity the fool who happens to occupy the White House when that day of reckoning arrives. (It may yet be Obama if things happen quickly.) In the mean time, don’t expect any health freedom miracles from the new wave of Republicans in the House of Representatives. From the point of view of Big Pharma, the only thing that has really changed is the names of the corrupt politicians being bribed with campaign contributions. The voters, in other words, can keep sending new people to Washington all they want — Big Pharma will keep corrupting them and making sure they suppress health freedom and keep conventional medicine’s deadly monopoly locked in place for years to come. Remember this: The real battle is not between Democrats and Republicans; it’s between corporations versus the People! And no matter who sits in Washington right now, the corporations can always buy the influence they need to keep destroying our collective futures in order to accumulate more money for themselves.
