Monsanto trying to take over world seed supply, nation by nation

(NaturalNews) He who controls the seed controls the food supply; and he who controls the food supply controls the world. There is no question that Monsanto is on a mission to monopolize the conventional seed market. In fact, they are steadfastly working towards the goal of creating a world where 100% of all commercial seeds are genetically modified and patented- basically a world where natural seeds are extinct.(http://www.naturalnews.com/029325_Monsanto_deception.html) Unfortunately for the global community Monsanto is accomplishing their purpose. They currently own 90% of the world’s patents for GMO seed including cotton, soybeans, corn, sugar beets and canola. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2007/jul/26/gmcrops) Yep, the creators of chemicals that will go down in history for their toxicity and horrific side effects, is attempting to take over the world’s seed supply. Ask yourself- do you really want companies such as BASF, Bayer, DuPont, Syngenta, and Dow involved with your food? Sadly, to a large extent they already are. These Monsanto chemical and GMO cronies all share genetically engineered traits and create the patented herbicides and pesticides that GMO crops require to thrive. Monsanto is infamous for taking advantage of small farmers, and with the advent of MoU’s they are doing so with governmental license. Countries like India, Pakistan, Australia, and New Zealand have all executed MoU’s with Monsanto. MoU’s or memorandum’s of understanding permit Monsanto to use publicly owned lands to create so called demonstration farms (GMO breeding camps) which in turn -at least in the case of Rajasthan – are subsidized by the government. Monsanto literally takes farmer seeds, creates genetically engineered copycat versions, and then retains all intellectual property rights. Dr. Vandana Shiva, Executive Director of the Navdanya Trust, an Indian organization committed to organic biodiversity, states that “the MoU’s will in effect, facilitate bio-piracy of Rajasthan’s rich biodiversity of draught -resilient crops …. by failing to have any clauses that respect the Biodiversity Act and the Farmers’ Rights Act, the MoU’s promote bio-piracy and legalize the great seed robbery.” (http://www.deccanchronicle.com/editorial/dc-comment/great-seed-robbery-394). It is common knowledge that GMO seeds are much worse than conventional ones. As with all of their agreements, Monsanto shields itself from any liability- so when the Monsanto’s promises of higher yields with less work ring hollow, when farmers crops fail, or when mass suicides are committed because of crop failure and spirit crushing debt- Monsanto presses on with no worries. (http://healthfreedoms.org/2011/03/02/monsanto-shifts-all-liability-to-farmers/) Farmers that sign up for Monsanto’s seeds of destruction find themselves hooked. Year after year, no matter what prices are being charged, they are dependent on GMO seeds for new crops because GMO seeds – the bastardized versions they are – don’t regenerate. (http://www.naturalnews.com/031742_GMOs_dangers.html) Monsanto has no qualms about robbing farmers that don’t play poker with them. As a mater of fact; it makes a business of it. Conventional and organic farmers in both Canada and the U.S., who have the misfortune of having lands that border GMO farms, often end up with trace contamination in their crops, making them (if organic), unsuitable for sale. Monsanto actually uses this situation against farmers and files patent infringement claims that they often win. The result farm owners are left with exorbitant legal bills and fines often forcing them to shut down: clearing away Monsanto competition. In a savvy move for survival, a preemptive suit on behalf of almost 300,000 plaintiffs seeking legal safe harbor, has been filed in New York. (http://www.naturalnews.com/031922_Monsanto_lawsuit.html) Monsanto’s product has changed from poison to food, but it has held true to its history of violating the rights and health of people around the globe. Monsanto is a 100% committed to the sale of their seeds of destruction no matter what it takes: bullying, infiltration of high government offices with company friendly individuals, or intimidation. The organic movement has taken up the standard against Monsanto’s machinations in court as well as through grassroots education and activist efforts. The organic revolution is Monsanto’s Achilles heel, and its goal is a world without Monsanto. 1. http://www.icis.com/Articles/2002/02/12/156788/austs-nufarm-monsanto-sign-herbicides-mou.html 2. http://gmo-journal.com/index.php/2011/06/02/more-organic-growers-join-the-suit-against-monsanto/ 3. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/1500-farmers-commit-mass-suicide-in-india-1669018.html
Health Ranger unveils The God Within documentary, exposes the false philosophical foundations of modern science

(NaturalNews) I have a timely and important message to share with you today. As explained in this important mini-documentary we’ve decided to release at this moment (link below), it is time that we tore away the false facade of “modern science” and exposed the core philosophical underpinnings that have enabled so much pain, suffering and destruction to be carried out in the name of “science.” The world of “science” has given us atomic weapons, GMOs, vaccines, toxic synthetic chemicals, pesticides and psychiatric drugs. It has used innocent people in deadly medical experiments (http://www.naturalnews.com/019189.html) and unleashed widespread genetic pollution on our world through the careless proliferation of genetically modified organisms (http://www.naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=29315DF17DC44267949234EA7262ED2F). But the scientists insisted they were creating a better world. “Better living through chemistry,” they said two decades ago. And now, a generation later, we are dealing with a collapse of life on our planet so large and so disastrous that it is being called the sixth great extinction of life on our planet (http://www.naturalnews.com/031625_mass_extinction_life_on_Earth.html). How could science have paved the way for such destruction on the planet? Watch The God Within mini-documentary to find out. It’s available for viewing right now on NaturalNews.TV: http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=E3B38227225F9FC62BAEA9CC81BE1D12 We denounce the core philosophical delusions of science This new documentary, The God Within , seeks to answer the question of why science is so destructive and dangerous. It begins by denouncing the false philosophy fronted by famed physicist Stephen Hawking, who insists that human beings are biological robots with no consciousness, no free will, no minds and no spirit. In his own words, from his book The Grand Design : “It is hard to imagine how free will can operate if our behavior is determined by physical law, so it seems that we are no more than biological machines and that free will is just an illusion.” Like most conventional scientists, Hawking believes that human beings are not conscious beings . Thus, we are incapable of empathy; incapable of love, pain, suffering or making our own decisions based on free will. This utter lack of recognition of the value of consciousness in living beings is the core principle of evil upon which most of modern science is built. It is the lack of empathy itself that gives rise to great evil. Interestingly, this is precisely the conclusion of a member of the scientific community — Cambridge University psychology professor Simon Baron-Cohen, who has written a new book in which he concludes that evil originates with a failure of empathy (http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/05/us-science-evil-idUSTRE7442Q620110505). He explains that psychopaths have “zero degrees of empathy,” meaning they do not recognize nor value the thoughts and feelings of others. This just happens to be the core principle of conventional science, which believes that feelings and thoughts are mere “biological ricochets” of brain chemistry, lacking any spirit, intention or consciousness. Thus, the core principle of conventional science as practiced today is psychopathic and delusional. This is why so many offshoots of so-called “scientific” thinking — the pursuit of GMOs, the mass-vaccination harming of innocent children, the widespread chemical poisoning of the natural world — are so blatantly psychopathic in nature. To unleash genetic contamination upon the world through the use of seeds containing “terminator” technology is a dangerous act from a psychopathic industry operating without any empathy toward living creatures. Modern science is psychopathic in its applications A psychopath is defined as “A person with an antisocial personality disorder, manifested in aggressive, perverted, criminal, or amoral behavior without empathy or remorse.” Yet this perfectly describes the behavior of many corporations operating under the label of “science.” The GMO seed companies, pesticide companies, fluoride chemical companies, psychiatric drug manufacturers, chemotherapy makers and vaccine manufacturers are, in effect, “psychopathic” in their behavior. They all claim to be operating as “scientific” entities, however, and they aggressively attack those who disagree with them as being “unscientific.” It is this perverted, criminal and amoral behavior — and a total lack of empathy for living beings — that qualifies much of today’s “scientific” corporate behavior as inescapably psychopathic. Drug companies are engaged in ongoing medical experiments involving the widespread suffering of animals. Vaccines are manufactured by harvesting the organs of diseased lab monkeys who are imprisoned in utterly inhumane living conditions. Vaccine manufacturers conduct medical experiments on children in developing nations. GMO companies run genetic crop experiments that harm the chain of life in our natural world. All of this is conducted under the umbrella of “science,” and yet all of it is psychopathic in nature and utterly lacking the core philosophy of recognizing consciousness or a soul. They teach disease and drugs in medical school, in other words, but they don’t teach doctors to value the life experience and consciousness of their patients. The idea that the patient even has a “spirit” or a “mind” is so alien to modern medicine that the entire conventional medical system utterly denies the existence of mind-body medicine … as if somehow the mind did not even exist. This denial of the existence of the mind (and its interaction with the body) is a kind of scientific insanity that has infected the minds of modern doctors and medical researchers. But it doesn’t stop at medicine, of course: This delusion also runs rampant through the physics community. Watch The God Within to learn more on these topics: http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=E3B38227225F9FC62BAEA9CC81BE1D12 We must not blindly follow science to our own destruction That our world’s top physicists such as Stephen Hawking fully embrace the frightening belief that human beings have no consciousness, no minds and no free will is a gigantic warning sign that the human race must not follow “science” blindly to its own self destruction. “Science” has led us down the path of nuclear catastrophe, the depletion of natural resources, the chemical saturation of our agricultural lands and the ongoing collapse of food pollinators such as honey bees and bats. “Science” has irradiated our bodies, drugged our children, polluted our spaces with electromagnetic cell phone broadcasts, contaminated our water supplies and impoverished our genetic future with the incessant burden of DNA-damaging chemical contamination. “Science” is leading humanity to its own destruction while promising progress. “Science” has become the modern-day justification for the advancement of evil — the destruction of life on our planet for the sole purpose of furthering a corporate or political agenda (at the expense of protecting life). Science has become evil , in other words. Through its lack of empathy and its failure to recognize the existence of the mind, it is carrying out agendas that go far beyond mere “crimes against humanity” and border on the demonic. In the name of “science,” life is being destroyed across our planet, and yet, astoundingly, those poison pushers who profit from it proclaim that they are the saviors of our world! “People will starve if we don’t grow genetically modified crops,” they cry. Yet at the same time they refuse to let a farmer in India save his own seeds from one generation to the next. They have refused him the natural right to plant his own crops, year after year, without paying royalties to the monopolistic evil corporation that has used scientific genetic engineering to cause seeds to self-terminate after one generation. This is a template of absolute evil, carried out in the name of science . And it is being conducted by truly evil human beings who are quite literally psychopathic in that they have no capacity to value the lives or experiences of others. They are the demons who roam our world, destroying everything in their path while attacking those who dare to protect life. These demons must either be transformed or destroyed if we hope to have a sustainable future of life on our planet. We must denounce the mindless, soulless “scientific” path It is time that we, the citizens of our planet, denounced the mindless, soulless philosophy of the scientific community and embraced a wiser, more advanced philosophy that recognizes the reality of consciousness … not merely human consciousness, by the way, but the consciousness of all living things: Animals, trees and plants. Only by embracing a new philosophy that celebrates the existence of consciousness, the mind, the soul and free will can we ever hope to achieve wisdom and peace as a species. Only by valuing life can we ever hope to sustain it. Only by recognizing the suffering in others can we ever hope to end it. Only by abandoning the empty mindless underpinning of modern science can we ever hope to halt the destruction it has unleashed upon our world. A philosophical shift is the next step in human advancement The real solutions to our world’s problems, you see, do not merely require banning GMOs or outlawing certain chemical pesticides. They require a wholesale philosophical upgrade that advances human understanding from the outmoded Newtonian era of understanding to the “quantum era” of human and animal consciousness. The next stage in our evolution, in other words, will not come from the realm of science at all but rather the realm of philosophy. Without such an advancement in understanding — and the subsequent core shifts in human values — we will never achieve sustainable life as a species. If we follow “science” as our great leader and teacher, we will only follow it to our own self destruction. Because science has no soul. It has no spirit. It has no mind. It is an empty shell of mathematics that lacks meaning. It has nothing more to offer our civilization until we attain a deeper appreciation of empathy, consciousness and free will. Because only from that place can we hope to properly understand and apply the sciences in a way that protects life rather than destroying it. Watch my mini-documentary, The God Within to see a more complete discussion of these ideas: http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=E3B38227225F9FC62BAEA9CC81BE1D12 What’s available now is Part One of the documentary (roughly 22 minutes). Research finds non-prescription treatments and preventatives help Alzheimer’s Disease

(NaturalNews) A recently published study on a popular Alzheimer’s disease drug demonstrated that there is no significant difference between patients taking the prescription drug and those taking a placebo. With one in seven Americans over the age of 71 affected by some form of dementia, the popularity of pharmaceuticals that offer any glimmer of hope is soaring. The problem is that many of these drugs have crippling side effects and can erode the patient’s (and their family’s) savings accounts. Recent research is providing encouraging news regarding natural treatments and sound methods of prevention. Non-prescription alternatives that help prevent memory loss and boost brain power include certain foods, dietary supplements, and lifestyle management. Turmeric (Curcurmin) is a popular spice in India, where Alzheimer’s disease is uncommon. A recent study at UCLA demonstrated that curcurmin helped bind amyloid beta, preventing the “gunk” that forms the plaques and tangles in the brain which lead to the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. Omega-3′s, fatty acids which protect cells and control inflammation, have been shown to clinically enhance the brain’s ability to process and store information. Exciting results from a UCLA study highlighting the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids were reported by researcher Fernando Gomez-Pinella: “Omega-3 fatty acids support synaptic plasticity and seem to positively affect the expression of several molecules related to learning and memory that are found on synapses.” Excellent food sources include beans, olive oil, walnuts, winter squash, and fish. Fish and flaxseed oil supplements are also good sources of Omega-3′s. The April 1993 issue of Drugs and Aging summarizes a clinically significant study pointing to the effectiveness of Alpha Glycerylphosphorylcholine (GPC) as a memory booster. Alzheimer patients who took 1200 milligrams a day of GPC reported an increase in memory recall and a sharper degree of attention. An added bonus was that most patients also reported a boost in mood. Ginkgo Biloba may offer an improvement in brain function and memory recall. UCLA researchers measured brain activity using positron-emission tomography (PET) on subjects taking Ginkgo Biloba. The subjects taking Ginkgo Biloba had slightly elevated brain activity in the areas of the brain related to recall. In a study published in the Journal of Gerontology, subjects taking a special extract of Ginkgo Biloba, EGb, experienced an increase in cognitive performance along with the exciting possibility that it might prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s disease in the first place. It is suggested that you take 60 to 120 milligrams two times a day with food. Memory improvements may take six to eight weeks. A moss extract, Huperzine A, is showing promise as a natural supplement which aids in preventing further memory loss. In a study of patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease, Huperzine A proved to be as effective as one of the most popular prescription medications. Lifestyle plays a major role in preventing/managing Alzheimer’s disease. Relevant and recent research attest to the positive results of stress management, exercise, quality sleep, and the amazing preventative power of challenging your brain by continually learning and cultivating curiosity. Considering the costs of prescription medications for managing Alzheimer’s disease — financially, physically, and now the question of “does it work?”, it seems that it would be prudent for the medical community to support and endorse natural supplementation and lifestyle management. Scientists issue urgent world-wide warning on bacteria with superbug gene

(NaturalNews) Nuclear meltdowns. Oil spills. More strife in Africa and the Middle East. GMO tainted crops. So what else could happen? Unfortunately, another problem has surfaced that has scientists calling for the “urgent need for global action”. This time, it’s worrisome news about a gene that turns bacteria into not just superbugs — but SUPER superbugs. Bottom line: this gene (dubbed the New Delhi metallo-s-lactamase 1 gene, NDM-1, for short) enables bacteria to resist virtually any and perhaps all antibiotics. These multidrug-resistant bacteria have been found in public water supplies and urban effluent in New Delhi. But this isn’t a problem limited to India. While researchers writing in the latest issue of the journal Lancet say the findings in India pose the worrisome possibility that NDM-1 is widespread in the environment of that country, there are plenty of reasons to be concerned the bacteria could be spreading to other parts of the planet. Mohd Shahid from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Uttar Pradesh, India, warns in an accompanying article that the potential for the global spread of bacteria with the super dangerous NDM-1 gene “.. is real and should not be ignored…coordinated, concrete, and collective efforts are needed, initially to limit their widespread dissemination, and finally to combat this emerging threatening resistance problem.” For the new study, Timothy Walsh from Cardiff University in the UK and his research team, in collaboration with reporters from Channel 4 television, investigated how common NDM-1-producing bacteria are in community waste seepage (water pools in streets or rivulets) and public tap water in urban New Delhi. Using a variety of sophisticated tests, including DNA probing, the researchers checked for the presence of the NDM-1 gene in bacteria found in the water samples. The results? The NDM-1 gene was found in 2 of the 50 drinking-water samples and 51 of 171 seepage samples. NDM-1 positive bacteria were grown from 2 drinking-water samples and 12 seepage samples. And there was a surprise — the gene was found in 20 bacterial isolates comprising 14 different species, including 11 species in which NDM-1 has not been previously reported. What’s more, the researchers reported in a media statement that it is particularly worrisome that the superbug-causing gene has spread to extremely pathogenic species of bacteria, including Shigella boydii and Vibrio cholerae, which cause dysentery and cholera, respectively. That means bacteria that can already make people extremely sick and even kill are now turning up with a gene that makes those disease-causing germs even more dangerous because it makes them “bullet proof” from antibiotics. The new superbug-with-a-super-gene problem is centered in India at the moment. The situation is largely blamed on a lack of sanitation — 650 million people or more in India don’t have access to clean water, according to the researchers’ media statement. Moreover, it turns out that the rate at which the NDM-1 gene is copied and transferred between different bacteria is highest at 30C and that falls within the daily range of temperatures in New Delhi for 7 months of the year from April to October. So if you are in the U.S., Asia or Europe, you don’t need to really worry about this superbug threat, right? Not so fast. There’s a reason the scientists are warning this is a potential global problem. Already, reports have come in of people from Europe, North America, Asia, and Australasia who were infected by bacteria with NDM-1, most likely from traveling in India and being exposed to the superbug through close personal contact or from ingestion of water or food contaminated with the NDM-1-positive bacteria. Pakistan and Bangladesh have also been identified as countries which are “exporting” cases of infection with these superbugs to travelers who then return their home countries. “International surveillance of resistance, incorporating environmental sampling as well as examination of clinical isolates needs to be established as a priority,” the researchers concluded. As NaturalNews has reported for years, superbugs are a growing problem in the US and elsewhere. Instead of panicking about exposure or feeling helpless when Big Pharma’s drug arsenal becomes useless, consider investigating natural preventive measures and treatments such as Manuka honey (http://www.naturalnews.com/027470_maggots_superbugs.html) and probiotics. Discover the radiation protective benefits of Spirulina and Chlorella

(NaturalNews) Protecting yourself in the event of a serious radiation event involves much more than simply loading up on potassium iodide and various other iodine supplements. While high levels of iodine do protect the thyroid and glandular systems from radiation poisoning, they do not necessarily protect the rest of your body from the devastating and deadly effects of nuclear radiation. However, two amazing superfoods — Spirulina and Chlorella — offer substantiated protection against harmful radiation. They also help to detoxify the body of harmful radiation after exposure, effectively protecting organs and other areas not protected by iodine. Spirulina, the incredible medical food used to treat child victims of Chernobyl The numerous curative and health-promoting properties of Spirulina are truly amazing. This blue-green algae superfood is rich in vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, and antioxidants, all of which make it highly beneficial as an anti-aging, anti-cancer, and super-detoxifying miracle food (http://www.naturalnews.com/spirulina.html). But little known is the incredible radioprotective power of Spirulina. Numerous studies have found that Spirulina protects the body against — and even heals it from — the damaging effects of harmful radiation. A 1989 study put forth by researchers from Zhongkai Agriculture and Technology College in China found in tests that Spirulina significantly reduces the gamma radiation-induced micronucleus frequencies in the bone marrow of affected mice. Bone marrow, of course, is responsible for producing new blood cells and maintaining the lymphatic system (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2505406). A 1993 report published by the Research Institute of Radiation Medicine in Belarus confirmed previous research conducted in 1990-91 which found that Spirulina effectively decreases the radioactive load received by the body when consuming radiation-contaminated food. After just 20 days, children fed five-gram doses of Spirulina every day experienced an average 50 percent reduction in urine radioactivity levels (http://www.iimsam.org/publications_and_reports.php). In a study released by Mechnikov Odessa State University in Ukraine in 2000, Spirulina proved effective at increasing phosphate, pyruvate, and antioxidant levels in rats with lesions caused by 5 gray units (Gy) of high-energy radiation. Full-body exposure to 5 Gy or more typically leads to death within 14 days, but Spirulina helped to prevent this (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10907410). A 2001 study conducted by researchers from the Medical and Pharmaceutical Academe of Yangzhou University in China found that Spirulina extracts effectively protect against both the damage caused by chemotherapy drugs and the damaging effects of gamma radiation exposure (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11749812). Those negatively affected by high levels of radiation after working on cleanup efforts following the 1986 Chernobyl disaster experienced improvements in the autoregulatory functionality of their bodily organs and other systems, as well as long-term remission from overall radiation damage, after being treated with a regimen that included Spirulina (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10921251). Spirulina works so well at mitigating the damage caused by radiation that it was actually awarded a Russian patent in 1995 for improving the immunity of children affected by radiation from the Chernobyl disaster. Many exposed children became stricken with chronic radiation sickness and elevated Immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels, and they also tested positive for high allergy sensitivity. But upon consuming roughly five milligrams (mg) of Spirulina a day for 45 days, the children’s IgE levels and allergic sensitivities were restored back to normal. Conclusively, Spirulina offers remarkable radioprotective benefits in addition to its many other health-promoting benefits. Regular consumption of Spirulina not only helps to boost immune function and normalize the systems in the body that regulate and maintain overall health, but the superfood also offers a surefire way to mitigate the damaging effects of harmful radiation (http://jpronline.info/article/viewFile/3180/1592). Chlorella, the detoxifying superfood with amazing radioprotective benefits Much like Spirulina, Chlorella is loaded with an astounding array vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that help detoxify the body of heavy metals and other contaminants. The single-cell algae also helps to prevent and repair DNA damage, balance the body’s pH levels, fight inflammation, improve digestive health, and boost immune function (http://www.naturalnews.com/027894_chlorella_arthritis.html). And as far as harmful radiation is concerned, Chlorella is a powerful weapon to both prevent radioactive damage and heal it once it has occurred. A 1989 study put forth by the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences demonstrated that Chlorella effectively increases production of bone marrow and spleen stem cells. And in tests, Chlorella greatly helped improve survival rates among mice irradiated with a lethal dose of radioactive gamma rays (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2688154). In 1993, researchers from Jawaharlal Nehru University in India also found that Chlorella is effective at protecting against and mitigating the damage caused by both acute and chronic radioactive damage (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8176669). A 1995 study published in the Indian Journal of Experimental Biology found that when administered before or upon exposure to sub-lethal radioactive gamma rays, Chlorella helps to boost levels of colony-forming spleen cells. Such cells exist within the bone marrow and are essential for the production of vital blood elements and immune factors (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8543329). Ultimately, the incredible detoxifying power of Chlorella is not limited to toxins like mercury, aluminum, and fluoride. Just like it does to toxic heavy metals, Chlorella binds to radioactive particles and literally flushes them out of the body. In complete synergy with its many other health-promoting functions, Chlorella is a vital superfood nutrient that numerous scientific studies have proven helps to guard the body against radioactive damage (http://www.naturalnews.com/027361_chlorella_natural_detox.html). Both Spirulina and Chlorella are absolutely essential weapons in any natural radioprotective arsenal. Together, these powerful sea-based nutrients help to rid the body of radiation and the many other toxins that cause both acute and chronic damage to the body.
Twelve unsustainable things that will soon come to a disastrous end on our planet

(NaturalNews) If you look around what’s really happening in our world today, there’s an inescapable pattern that curiously emerges: Much of what’s going on is simply unsustainable . It can’t go on for much longer, in other words. And it must collapse due to the laws of economics or physics. Here, I’ve put together a collection of twelve systems that are utterly unsustainable on our planet. Each of these twelve is scheduled for some sort of collapse or shut down in the coming years. They range from economics to medicine, population and the environment. And interestingly, the collapse of just one of these twelve would have devastating consequences across human civilization. What happens when two, three or ten of these things collapse? This article doesn’t cover the consequences of the collapse of these unsustainable things, but we’ll work on covering that in future articles. Here are the twelve: 1) Debt-based banking and economic systems There’s little question that our global fractional reserve banking system is headed for a catastrophic collapse. It’s a system based on debt rather than sound money principles, and the laws of economics dictate that the global multiplication of money and debt is entirely unsustainable. This system will collapse, and when it does, it will be so large that the economic devastation will be global. Governments have actually made this worse, of course, by bailing out the dishonest investment institutions that have made the situation worse. The coming financial collapse will teach humanity some hard lessons about honest money. When it comes to money, banking and debt, Ron Paul has always been right, after all. 2) Conventional agriculture and “rape the planet” farming The current agricultural system that feeds the planet is simply unsustainable. It is a “rape the planet” model that clear-cuts forests to grow GMO soybeans that feed factory cattle which are turned into processed meat. Even the plant crops grown through conventional agriculture depend on chemical fertilizers from sources that are running out (fossil fuels, phosphate mines, etc.). Furthermore, the mass application of chemical pesticides, fungicides and Monsanto’s Roundup chemicals is destroying the viability of soils while polluting the world’s farms, rivers, streams and oceans. This system is unsustainable. When it collapses, humanity will learn (the hard way) that only sustainable agriculture can sustain human life on our planet. 3) Mass-consumption economies based on buy-it-and-trash-it behavior When children are raised to be good little Americans (or Canadians, or Australians, etc.), they’re taught to consume more stuff . In America, it was even called “patriotic” by former President George Bush. To support your local economy, you’re supposed to go out and buy stuff that you don’t need, then chuck it into the trash after you use it, then go out and buy more! Virtually the entire first-world economy is based on this idea that people need to consume more stuff, then throw it away, then consume more. That’s what all the corporate advertising is for, to convince people that they are inadequate unless they buy and consume more high-priced cars, designer jeans, electronic gadgets and throwaway home cleaning supplies. This system is insane . And it cannot continue indefinitely. 4) The accelerating loss of farming soils There’s a great documentary you need to see on this called Dirt. (www.DirtTheMovie.org) It explains the value of dirt (soil) and why conventional agriculture methods are destroying the dirt upon which our civilization depends. We even wrote about the movie here: http://www.naturalnews.com/031597_Dirt_movie.html No dirt = no food. Get it? And the dirt is disappearing at an alarming rate, thanks to the unsustainable practices of conventional agriculture, with all its tilling, soil destruction, poisons and GMOs. I wonder what the people will plant their seeds in when all the cropland dirt is either dead or gone? 5) The mass poisoning of the oceans and aggressive over-fishing Oceans ecosystems are collapsing. This isn’t some future prediction, it’s happening right now. Ocean acidification is destroying the coral reefs and mollusks all across the globe. At the same time, human civilization treats the oceans as giant planetary toilets into which all the toxic chemicals of modern civilization are flushed: Pharmaceuticals, pesticides, fertilizers, heavy metals, hormone-disrupting chemicals and a whole lot more. Massive fish die-offs are becoming increasingly common (http://www.naturalnews.com/031645_dead_fish_Redondo_Beach.html), and fish populations are plummeting across several species. We are beginning to see the results of mankind’s ongoing poisoning of the oceans. 6) Mass genetic pollution of the planet through GMOs It will be the great, dark legacy of our modern civilization: The widespread genetic contamination of the planet through the use of GMOs. Genetically engineered seeds are spreading their altered genetic code all across the world. The DNA of GMO crops is now detectable in soils, foods and water systems. What’s the upshot of all this? It’s a big unknown, of course, and that’s the frightening part: No one before has ever “played God” with the planet, right out in the open, and then observed what happens after a few years (or decades). Thanks to companies like Monsanto, we are the experiment , and no one know if it might ultimately lead to something like a widespread crop failure or even the alternation of natural web-of-life interactions across multiple ecosystems. And if genetic pollution causes problems, how do you “clean” that pollution? You can’t! Genetic pollution endures. Once crops become infected with GE seeds, it’s all but impossible to eliminate the DNA contamination. 7) The drugs-and-surgery conventional medical system Big Pharma’s days are numbered — based on economics if nothing else. The monopolistic pricing, the deadly side effects and the corrupt, criminal operations of the industry make it all utterly non-sustainable. Big Pharma and the whole chemical approach to medicine is bankrupting companies, cities, states and nations. No nation can economically survive in the long run if it keeps spending its money on Big Pharma sick care schemes. Ultimately, those nations that hope to survive will need to ditch Big Pharma and return to natural medicine and preventive nutrition. That day is coming. Sooner that you think, probably.
Widespread pharmaceutical contamination of the human population and the environment Until the day comes that Big Pharma collapses into ruin, the pharmaceutical pollution of the planet will continue. Right now, pharmaceutical factories in India (which export their pills back to the states to be sold as brand-name drugs) are dumping untold thousands of gallons of dangerous chemical drugs into the waterways there (http://www.naturalnews.com/025415_water_Big_Pharma_chemicals.html). In the U.S. and Canada, the water near every major city is heavily contaminated with pharmaceuticals. (http://www.naturalnews.com/025933.html) The situation is so bad that Big Pharma’s chemical runoff threatens the future of life on our planet! (http://www.naturalnews.com/029314_waterways_contamination.html) Fortunately, this sad chapter in human history will soon come to an end. 9) Runaway human population growth Here’s the one nobody wants to talk about. But make no mistake: The human population growth we see right now is entirely unsustainable. The available of cheap food and fossil fuels over the last century has contributed to an unprecedented population explosion that is now nearing its end. There are only so many acres of farmland, after all, and only so many acre-feet of water to irrigate it. Don’t misinterpret this, however, of thinking that I support some sort of population reduction measures a la Bill Gates and his quote about reducing the world population by 10 – 15 percent through the use of vaccines and health care (http://www.naturalnews.com/029911_vaccines_Bill_Gates.html). Unlike some of the truly evil world leaders, I don’t believe in killing off human beings just to reduce global population. Rather, it makes more sense to teach sustainable living practices along with good parenting and well-considered parenthood. Strangely, most of the new children brought into the world today are not the result of stable, well-prepared parents choosing to have children, but rather the unintended consequences of casual copulation. 10) Fossil water consumption for agriculture We just published a story on this issue, talking about how the Ogallala Aquifer is running dry, threatening the agricultural output of Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and even parts of Colorado and Texas (http://www.naturalnews.com/031658_aquifer_depletion_Ogallala.html). This is a global issue, affecting India, China, North America, South America and nearly every nation that produces any significant agricultural yields. Fresh water is running out all across the world, and while additional water supplies can always be created through desalination, for example, that’s a very expensive way to replenish the water, and it’s almost entirely dependent on fossil fuels (see below). Even if you could build enough desalination plants to irrigate the world’s croplands, the resulting food prices would still result in mass starvation by those who couldn’t afford the food which might cost ten times the current price. Imagine paying $20 for a loaf of bread and you get the idea of what’s coming. 11) Fossil fuel consumption I realize this is a highly contentious issue, with some people claiming that there’s an “unlimited supply of oil” in our planet because it’s replenishing itself all the time. This idea simply doesn’t square with what we know: The Earth is a finite object, occupying finite space. Inside it can only be a finite amount of fossil fuels. The recharge rate of fossil fuels is on the scale of millions of years, meaning we can’t simply wait around for more fuel to reappear if we use up the current reserves. There is convincing evidence right now that Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil producer, has been lying about its output capacity for at least the last decade. It can’t reach its production targets, and there is reasoned speculation that its own best-producing oil wells are approaching their end. Even if oil remains available for a few more decades, it still becomes increasingly expensive oil, meaning that everything else down the supply chain becomes more expensive, too: Food, fuel, consumer goods, etc. The era of cheap fossil fuels is coming to an end. Although fossil fuels will no doubt be around for several decades more, the cheap stuff is long gone, it seems. The citizens of Earth will soon need to find an alternate way to power their cities, cars and businesses in the 21st century. Oh, and by the way, solar probably isn’t the answer, as solar panels depend on rare earth metals that are entirely dependent on Chinese mining operations (http://www.naturalnews.com/028160_rare_earth_metals_mining.html). Wind energy also hasn’t panned out as it should have. And the governments of the world continue to suppress free energy technologies such as Cold Fusion , which has now been proven to work by even the U.S. Navy (http://www.naturalnews.com/025925_cold_fusion_science_Amazon.html). 12) The widespread destruction of animal habitat Here’s one that drives some people nuts. What? We can’t keep clear-cutting the rainforests to plant genetically engineered soybeans? Not if you want the planet to survive, actually. There’s a delicate web of life on our planet upon which human life ultimately depends. The more animal habitat we destroy, the more it ultimately comes back to haunt us. Now, I’m not in favor of the insane green police and the UN’s freedom-stealing efforts to pigeon-hole human beings into centrally-controlled behavior boxes. The key here is finding ways for people to live in balance with nature while still maintaining their freedoms. And that depends on education. We need to continue to teach people how to make sound decisions about where they buy their wood furniture (to avoid the slashing of old-growth forests). We need to teach people who eat meat to buy truly free-range, grass-fed meat rather than factory-farmed meats that depend on soybean mega-farms. And of course, we also need to make people aware of the benefits of getting more plant-based foods into their diets where possible, because when properly prepared, plant foods provide a lot of nutrients with a smaller ecological footprint than most meats. I’m not against those who eat meat, by the way. I just think that people need to consider where their food comes from no matter what they’re eating , and then take steps to reduce the ecological footprint of the food they’re choosing to consume. The best answer to this is to buy local food . In fact, I would argue that eating some beef steaks from a local farmer is more ecologically sound than juicing up organic fruits and vegetables grown and imported from Chile (unless you live in Chile, of course). That’s an arguable point, of course, and opinions differ sharply on this, but I believe that we really need to focus on eating local foods just as much as we do on what we’re eating . Personally, I don’t eat cows, but even for the plants I consume, I’m working hard right now on growing more of my own so that I’m acting with integrity — “walking the talk” so to speak — to be aligned with what I’m advocating for others. While we’re at it, one of the best ways to reduce the destruction of animal habitat is to grow your own food by turning your yard into a garden. Reduce your demand for store-bought food and you unquestionably reduce your ecological footprint on the planet. And reconsider how much seafood you eat. Most seafood is extremely damaging to ocean ecosystems. I don’t have space to discuss it all right here, but we’ll cover it more on NaturalNews in the near future. Life is on the line So those are 12 of the biggest things that are entirely unsustainable on our planet right now. Human life depends on most of them. It makes you wonder: How will humans survive when these systems and resources upon which we depend have run out or collapsed? That is a question we’d all better be asking ourselves right now. Because the age of cheap fuel, cheap money, cheap water and cheap food is fast ending. The future of life on our planet will require something far more evolved than the infantile, selfish and self-destructive mindset that humanity has so far demonstrated. Debt-based money systems don’t cut it. Burning up all the fossil fuels is only a fool’s abundance. Medicating the humans and animals with toxic, synthetic pharmaceuticals is a form of medical insanity. These things will all come to an end. The question is: Who will survive the end of these things and be around to help shape the next society which must operate with far greater humility and wisdom?
Superbug named New Delhi to make westerners afraid of offshore medical tourism

(NaturalNews) The industry of western medicine is steeped in corruption, dishonesty and dirty tricks. One of those dirty tricks became apparent recently when it was revealed that a superbug discovered by western researchers was given the name “New Delhi” in order to make westerners fearful of medical tourism in India. Medical tourism, you see, is hurting the profits of western hospitals and medical clinics who vastly overcharge for their services. By traveling to India or other countries, patients from western nations can receive virtually identical medical care at a small fraction of the price normally charged in America or other western nations. But the conventional medical industry cannot tolerate people having a free choice about much of anything, so they engage in dirty tricks to scare people into buying health care services at monopolistic prices. One of the more recent dirty tricks involves the discovery of a drug-resistant superbug in several UK patients. Because some of those patients (but not all) had traveled to India, the UK researcher decided to disparage India’s medical tourism industry and name the superbug “New Delhi.” Or, more specifically, “New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase 1 (NDM-1).” The name of this superbug was chosen to link “superbug” with “India” and “medical tourism,” thereby scaring people away from even thinking of traveling to India for medical tourism. Scare stories link India with superbugs It wasn’t long before one of western medicine’s greatest propaganda publications, The Lancet , jumped on board and began to spread the scare story by linking cosmetic surgery medial tourism to the “New Delhi” superbug. (http://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099%2810%2970143-2/abstract) Mainstream media outlets began parroting the propaganda (as they always do) and spreading the fear. The classic example comes from CBS News, which said on September 14, 2020: Experts worry that people who travel to developing countries for inexpensive medical treatment may be placing us at risk. (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504763_162-20016335-10391704.html) Did you catch that? “Experts” — whoever they might be — are saying that if people travel to India for medical tourism, they might bring back superbugs that kill us all! Run! This is from an article entitled, believe it or not, “Is Medical Tourism Spreading Scary Germs?” There’s a unjustified fear-mongering headline if I’ve ever read one. It even uses the word “scary” right in the title just in case you didn’t catch the implied fear. This is all, predictably, a pretext for banning medical tourism . Legislators could simply announce “medical tourism is a threat to our safety” and outlaw the practice. The naming of this superbug “New Delhi” is just one step in this process of shutting down medical tourism altogether. As further evidence of the real agenda behind this story, CBS News refers to offshore procedures as “cheap medical treatments,” not “low-cost medical services.” This is also an indication of their attempt to discredit the entire practice. (“Cheap” implies lower quality and is a derogatory choice of phraseology.) How to protect the medical monopoly Western medicine routinely attacks anything that competes with its profits or questions its mythology. Witness the viciousness of the ongoing attacks against Dr Andrew Wakefield, the vaccine researcher. The effort to discredit his work goes beyond any routine “science” and enters the realm of desperation . The vaccine industry is truly “desperate” to discredit Wakefield in order to save their vaccine monopoly and make sure parents dismiss any links between vaccines and health problems in children. We’ll cover that in another story, of course, but it’s just one example of how the western medical system viciously attacks anything that threatens its monopoly power base. Getting back to the New Delhi superbug, The Lancet was the first medical journal to report on it, and by using the “New Delhi” name in its report, The Lancet is responsible for cementing this name in medical history, thereby stigmatizing an entire nation and spreading irrational fear about medical tourism. When confronted about this, Richard Horton, editor of The Lancet, actually offered an apology. “We didn’t think of its implications, for which I sincerely apologize.” Hogwash. I believe Richard Horton knew exactly what he was doing. Remember, The Lancet is one of the most widely respected scientific journals in the field of medicine. Its editor is scientifically trained to consider multiple levels of implications of every action. The explanation that he failed to recognize that the phrase “New Delhi” was the name of a city in one of the most prominent and important nations on our planet is, frankly, unbelievable. A far more likely explanation is that Horton recognized the phrase “New Delhi,” and realized this name would have the effect of discrediting India but chose to go ahead and use it anyway. Does anyone seriously think Horton would have allowed a superbug to be named “London” without considering the implications? Of course not. So why would he use the name “New Delhi” which is the geopolitical equivalent? India’s politicians are accusing westerners of using this name precisely for the purpose of casting doubt on the safety of medical tourism. And even now, after the apology in The Lancet, the lead researcher who discovered the superbug said he has no intention of renaming it. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-12172633) So there you have it: A superbug named to discredit medical tourism, a weak apology from a medical journal editor but no action to change the name. So this superbug will continue to be called “New Delhi” and it will continue to discredit the entire nation of India which, of course, was the whole idea to begin with. Score another point for the evil, corrupt and intellectually dishonest industry of conventional medicine. Propaganda: 1 Actual science: 0
GM cotton has not improved yields, but it has ruined sustainable agriculture

(NaturalNews) Remember the promises made by Monsanto that genetically-modified (GM) crops would bring higher yields and a better quality of life to the world? A recent study put forth by anthropologists from Washington University (WU) in St. Louis has revealed that Bt cotton, a type of GM cotton that produces its own insecticide, is causing significant problems for sustainable farm management, while offering little to no actual increases in yield. First introduced in India in 2002, Bt cotton has been the source of much controversy because it simply has not lived up to its promises. A recent report in the U.K. Independent , for instance, explains that at least 200,000 Indian farmers have committed suicide in the past decade because of losing everything to Bt cotton failures (http://www.naturalnews.com/030913_Monsanto_suicides.html). And now, further research is showing that the “frankencrops” are exacerbating other problems on farms, including the rise of damaging pests not warded off by the cotton’s built-in insecticide. “[W]e are seeing erosion of benefits (with Bt cotton) as non-target pest populations are booming,” says Glenn Stone, Ph.D., professor of anthropology in Arts and Sciences at WU, and author of a paper on the issue that appears in the journal World Development . “It has also brought a quickening of technological change and undecipherability, which is the real underlying problem.” Though Bt cotton appears to have brought about a slight increase in yields, based on certain statistics, Stone explains that yields were already on the rise prior to the introduction of Bt cotton. And the same problems that plagued agriculture prior to Bt cotton — many of which were caused by other unsustainable farming practices — have only become worse now that Bt cotton is the norm in many Indian villages. “I would love to see Bt seeds as a real solution to these farmers’ insect problems, as many have claimed, but this may be a bit naive,” he writes. “Each new technology — hybrids, then pesticide after pesticide — brought about short-term gains but further eroded farm management.” At least with conventional cotton varieties, farmers were able to save and reuse seeds, and operate independently from the control of powerful biotechnology giants like Monsanto. Now, those who have adopted Bt cotton are stuck in Monsanto’s clutches with little to no remedy. Sources for this story include: http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2011-02/wuis-nfi020711.php
GMO lies: Deliberate misuse of the term "genetically modified" designed to mislead people
January 25, 2011 by Health Blogger

(NaturalNews) It’s one of the most common false arguments of GMO pushers: There’s nothing to be worried about with genetically modified foods, they argue, because almost everything is genetically modified, they claim. What they’re referring to is the genetic selection used in the long, slow development of many crops such as wheat, which originally began as a grass but was shaped generation after generation through the selection of larger seeds, ultimately leading to modern-day wheat. This stands in stark contrast to genetic engineering , which is the artificial inserting of genetic code (often from animal species, by the way) into the DNA of a plant. This is a completely artificial, interventionist “engineering” of the DNA of a plant that wildly differs from mere genetic “selection.” GMO poison pushers attempt to confuse people with these terms by claiming that “lots of foods are genetically modified,” thereby blurring the distinction between genetic selection versus genetic engineering . I’ve even heard top-level scientists attempt to use this false argument, hoping that no one will notice. The simple truth is that genetic selection works in harmony with natural processes of gene variation within a species. If you grow corn, and you save the seeds from your best-tasting corn to plant the next generation of corn, you are engaged in genetic selection . This is natural. But the GMO industry doesn’t even want you to be able to save your seeds from one generation to the next. They use “terminator” technology in the seeds to ensure that the second generation of seeds is non-viable. That alone is a crime against humanity because it forces a seed monopoly upon farmers and consumers in developing nations and first-world nations. This is why any individual or organization that is in favor of seed-termination technology in GMOs is supporting a crime against nature . As usual, the powerful corporations pushing GMOs are attempting to blatantly confuse consumers (and journalists) over the difference between genetic selection versus genetic engineering . None of the biotech GMOs are created through selection processes along. They all are based on artificial genetic engineering. 10 facts you need to know about GMOs: • GMOs are created through artificial genetic engineering of plant DNA, usually through inserting animal genes into plants. • Genetic “selection,” in contrast, is a natural process whereby people plant seeds, generation after generation, from their crops that demonstrate desirable characteristics. This is how wheat, corn and other crops were developed over centuries of seed selection. • The GMO industry uses seed terminator technology to forbid seed saving and planting, thereby forcing farmers to buy seeds year after year (creating a seed monopoly and a single point of control for food). • People who promote GMOs are engaged in crimes against humanity and crimes against nature. They promote dangerous technologies that threaten the future of life on earth by causing genetic pollution and a sharp loss of seed diversity . • GMOs have been linked to at least 200,000 suicides in India over the past decade due to failed crops (http://www.naturalnews.com/030913_Monsanto_suicides.html). • The GMO industry has financially taken over much of the mainstream media, politicians and science journals (http://www.naturalnews.com/031093_unscientific_GMOs.html). They will not stop until they achieve complete control over the world food supply, enslaving humanity in a food monopoly. • GMOs cause “genetic pollution” that damage other crops and ultimately threaten the reproductive viability of crops in the long term. The future of food is jeopardized by GMOs. • The GMO industry is now attempting to brand all opponents of GMOs as “unscientific” by claiming that GMO = science, and therefore anyone who opposes GMOs is automatically an opponent of science (http://www.naturalnews.com/031093_unscientific_GMOs.html). • The GMO push into Europe is a confirmed conspiracy involving U.S. officials and GMO corporations, as revealed in a Wikileaks cable that the mainstream media has still refused to report (http://www.naturalnews.com/030828_GMOs_Wikileaks.html). • The next great food famine (and mass starvation) will undoubtedly be caused by GMOs. And yet the industry claims that GMOs will save the planet from starvation! Only in a crooked, corrupt world could an industry claim to be saving the world while actually enslaving the world. Food skyrockets to highest prices ever

(NaturalNews) Figures recently released by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) index of 55 food commodities indicates that worldwide food prices hit a record high in December. Though the costs of some food commodities like rice, corn and soy actually decreased, oil seeds and sugar jumped significantly due to various factors including erratic weather and droughts, according to reports. In the past, such ups and downs on the commodity market did not immediately affect actual food costs for consumers, but some experts say that this is no longer the case, and that “food inflation” will occur right alongside the commodity price gains. And rapid food inflation has already taken place in India, for example, with recent reports indicating that the country experienced an overall food inflation rate of 18 percent in 2010. Low food stocks, droughts and poor weather conditions have all contributed to the escalating food crisis, which has led many nations to cut off exports in order to save supplies for their own populations. And the resulting global shortages only exacerbate the problem further as importing nations scramble to source needed commodities for their own populations. Abdolreza Abbassian, a senior economist at the FAO, explained in a Bloomberg report that since not all commodity prices are rising, the overall indicator can be deceiving. Even so, prices across the board may increase as a result of a domino effect from the commodities that are in short supply, or even from the same conditions like droughts and poor weather that have caused shortages and price increases in the other categories. Rising global food prices and supply uncertainty are just another reason why self-sufficiency is vital to long-term survival. Individuals who grow their own food and live off their own land as much as possible will not be affected by volatile supply and demand issues that affect the global food market.
