Truth advocates push for GMO labeling initiative to be placed on 2012 California ballot

(NaturalNews) Advocates for truth in food labeling will be working diligently this fall to gather enough signatures to get an initiative placed on the 2012 California electoral ballot that, if passed, will mandate that genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) be properly labeled within the state. The measure also has the potential to set a new labeling standard for the rest of the US as well, which could eventually drive GMOs out of the marketplace altogether. The biotechnology industry and its allies have pumped billions of dollars into lobbying efforts that have effectively prevented every proposal for GMO labeling from moving forward. While numerous polls have found that at least 90 percent of Americans support the mandatory labeling of GMOs, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and various other federal agencies backed by special interests have repeatedly stood against it (http://www.naturalnews.com/029168_GMO_foods_labeling.html). The Obama administration has also made it very clear that regulating genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) is not a primary concern for the US government, let alone any sort of proper labeling. Just a few months ago, Obama’s USDA, for instance, willingly and openly deregulated GM alfalfa without an environmental impact report (EIR) or any proper safety studies (http://www.naturalnews.com/031196_GE_alfalfa_GMOs.html). And the administration has also been pushing very hard to get GMOs permitted for planting in national wildlife refuges, which is against the law (http://www.naturalnews.com/032726_GMOs_national_wildlife_refuge.html). Getting GMOs labeled continues to be an uphill battle — and it may seem like something that will never happen apart from a miracle — but like every other political effort that has ever been successful on a significant level, dedication and strategic planning by grassroots activists just might be the key to victory. By simply getting a GMO labeling initiative on the California electoral ballot in 2012, half the battle will have already been won. The goal now, though, will be to gain enough signatures to get it on the ballot. Organic Trade Association board members have ties to GMOs, thus the organization’s silence on the issue Labeling of GMOs is something that most NaturalNews readers might assume is widely supported by the nation’s organic companies and groups. And this is largely the case except for a few, including the Organic Trade Association (OTA), whose ranks have been tainted by board members with ties to corporations that profit from the sale of GMOs. OTA’s President Julia Sabin, for instance, is Vice President and General Manager for Smucker Natural Foods, Inc., which uses GM high fructose corn syrup and other GM ingredients in its various jellies and jams. Sabin personally profits from her company’s use of GM ingredients, and yet she holds the highest post at OTA, a group that is supposed to represent the interests of the organic food industry. While OTA claims to support the labeling of GMOs, the group has never devoted any of its financial resources to actually making this a reality. So this key player in the organic industry has essentially done little to nothing to actually get GMOs labeled in the US, and yet claims at the same time to support GMO labeling. Be sure to watch this short, informative video about various OTA board members’ connections to GMOs, and learn why OTA has taken a soft stance on GMO labeling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCK0MTS4mvI&feature=player_embedded After seeing the numerous connections to GMO interests, it will become clear why OTA essentially plays both sides of the fence by saying one thing and doing another. Speaking about Oregon’s Measure 27 (2002), Alexis Baden-Mayer, Political Director of the Organic Consumers Association said “The first ballot initiative effort to require food companies to label products that contain genetically-modified (GM) ingredients. The Organic Trade Association ostensibly supported the measure, but didn’t chip in financially. The food and crop biotechnology industries raised a war chest to fight the ballot measure. Ironically, some of these companies already had stakes in organic and some had subsidiaries that were members of OTA.” Baden-Mayer also stated that “General Mills (currently represented on the OTA board by Craig Weakly of Small Planet Foods), HJ Heinz Co. (invested in the Hain-Celestial Group), PepsiCo (Tropicana and Quaker produce a few organic products), and Kellogg’s (owns Kashi), joined a coalition of corporate giants — the Coalition Against the Costly Labeling Law — including chemical makers Monsanto and DuPont, agribusiness ConAgra, food processor Sara Lee, the pesticide lobbying group CropLife, and the junk food lobbying group the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), in spending some $5.5 million to defeat mandatory GMO labels.” So you see, some of the very same organic companies represented by OTA are also tied to companies that use GMOs. Naturally, these companies are choosing to fight labeling laws that will hurt their bottom line. This is precisely why it will take grassroots support to get the California initiative on the 2012 ballot, and to successfully rally enough support to get it passed. If you would like to learn more about how you can help gather signatures for the initiative this fall, and get this landmark GMO labeling law passed, visit: http://www.labelGMOs.org At the site, you will also find access to useful information about organizing and educating people in your community about GMOs, volunteering to help the California campaign, and even starting an initiative to label GMOs in your own state if you do not live in California. Vaccines found to activate moron genes that cause further belief in vaccines (satire)
February 27, 2011 by Health Blogger

(NaturalNews) Weekend satire special: New research accidentally conducted by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has discovered that vaccines activate the “moron” genes that normally lie dormant in human beings. Once activated, these “moron genes” cause individuals to lose higher brain function and the ability to question false information fed to them by doctors, drug companies and the media. This, in turn, results in even more people pursuing repeated vaccines, further causing expression of the moron genes, over and over again, until their brain function collapses to the level of a raw vegetable… otherwise known as a “voter.” Because of their disastrous effects on higher brain function, these vaccines are now being called “Moron Vaccines.” Moron Vaccines contain all the usual ingredients of flu vaccines and MMR vaccines, including methyl mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde and DNA fragments from diseased monkey organs. (This is truly what’s found in other vaccines…) But Moron Vaccines have one ingredient that’s slightly different. As Dr. All Proffit, a leading vaccine patent holder, explained, “Moron Vaccines are much like regular vaccines, except instead of taking diseased material from infected cows and monkeys, we take brain cell samples from existing morons which are easy to find among our colleagues. We then weaken those brain cells to make them even more moronic, and then we inject them into infants and children, mixed with a bit of mercury to make sure it targets the neurological system for maximum effectiveness.” The result? As Bill Gates explains, “Billions of children each year are being saved from IBFD.” IBFD is short for “Intelligent Brain Function Disorder. It is an affliction affecting hundreds of millions of people each year, causing them to achieve dangerously high levels of cognitive function that causes them to ask inappropriate questions about vaccines such as, “Why have vaccines never been tested against non-vaccinated children?” Or, “Why do vaccines cause some children and teens to collapse into autism, comas or death?” Or, “Why don’t flu vaccines actually prevent flu symptoms in 99 out of 100 people who receive them?” Those questions have no place in today’s medical system, where the correct answer to every disease is — as doctors are routinely taught — “More vaccines!” “The population is too intelligent for its own good,” Dr. Proffit added. “The only way to keep people in line with the expectations of Big Government, Big Pharma and America’s top employers such as McDonald’s and Wal-Mart is to increase the moron density in America through a determined, long-term vaccination program carried out with the help of doctors and government medical authorities.” To financially support that program, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) is investing over fifty billion dollars to roll out Moron Vaccines on a global scale. “This will help ensure that more people buy Microsoft products,” explained Gates. “Because if they regain higher brain function, they might be tempted to run Linux instead.” The FDA granted approval to the Moron Vaccines based on the scientific clinical trial data provided by the maker of the vaccines, most of which was, believe it or not, fabricated by morons. “This is why the data are so consistently reliable,” explained the company CEO. “When you’re studying Moron Vaccines, who better to offer an experienced perspective than an actual moron posing as a research scientist?” The FDA was influenced in its decision to approve the vaccines by the CDC, which recently warned that America was “suffering from an epidemic of critical thinking” that threatened the future of the U.S. government, the Federal Reserve, and the vaccine industry in particular. The source of this epidemic has been traced to Rep. Ron Paul, of course. “People who think for themselves are a threat to the U.S. government, and they are causing problems at airports, too,” said DHS secretary Janet Napolitano. “That’s why we’ve partnered with the FDA to make sure that those suffering from Intelligent Brain Function Disorder are offered ‘treatment’ at every opportunity.” As part of that government treatment program, IBFD screening centers are now being erected at the airports, sports stadiums and Wal-Mart stores. Interestingly, Wal-Mart stores have so far found exactly zero people at their stores who suffer from Intelligent Brain Function Disorder. Apparently, all Wal-Mart shoppers are already cured. (http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=5A4B5D4B84344D5D9CBD262A53D8B071) The TSA announced it would no longer hire anyone suffering from IBFD and would only hire workers after they have been injected with the Moron Vaccine. “Is is very important that TSA agents have achieved the lower IQs necessary for them to carry out their jobs of molesting air travelers,” explained TSA head John Pistole explained. “We cannot have our agents suffering from moments of cognitive awareness while they’re touching your junk. People who work in government security are better off if they simply do what they’re told without asking intelligent questions or citing the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which is a highly complex collection of sequential words that none of us can decode anymore thanks to the Moron Vaccines.” Moron Vaccines are now mandatory in medical schools, where they are given to would-be doctors are part of an indoctrination ritual. They’re also mandatory in public schools, where children are being educated just enough to be obedient workers but not enough to actually question what role they’re playing in the grand consumerism economic raping of the planet in the name of corporate profits. Walgreens stores are offering Moron Vaccine Gift Cards so that you can give the gift of lower brain function to a friend or family member. If grandma is acting up again, a vaccination targeting her higher brain function may be just the ticket to a joyful, loving family picnic. That “Grandma is staring off into the distance again” look is actually family affection , remember. Many nursing homes and retirement centers are even thinking of switching from their current model of pharmaceutically abusing patients into a tolerable state of human vegetation to the new model of just vaccinating them instead. “It’s so much easier with the Moron Vaccines,” explained one nursing home director. “Pills required patient consent, but vaccines can be given to patients in their sleep, and when they wake up the next morning, or at least the ones that do, they’re like a whole new person… quiet, introspective and no longer argumentative.” The Moron Vaccine is such a success that even President Obama chimed in on the issue. “Moron Vaccines help keep America strong by making sure people don’t ask too many questions about the coming economic collapse,” he said in a recent press event. “If we can manage to vaccinate the entire population, then we can probably keep the Medicare and Social Security Ponzi schemes going a few years longer, and that protects all of us in Washington from a popular revolt like the one we saw in Egypt! The Middle East is witness to the violence and destruction that can take place when populations are allowed to contemplate higher ideals such as freedom or liberty,” Obama said. “Moron Vaccines keep people comfortably numb in their lower brain functions, where they can dutifully serve the interests of the State.” So don’t miss out on the Moron Vaccines! They’re available free of charge at any U.S. post office. The government is also offering a special discount called, “Don’t buy one, get one free!” for those who can’t do math because they graduated from Madison, Wisconsin public schools — “where education is ALWAYS secondary.” Note: This satire article is pure fiction. If you didn’t know that by now, you have probably already taken the Moron Vaccines! Please turn yourself into the nearest TSA human resources office for possible placement within the Department of Homeland Security.
Professor who lost weight on Twinkies only proves that even nutrition educators can be Ding Dongs

(NaturalNews) Over the last month or so, the mainstream media has been making a huge deal about Kansas State nutrition professor Mark Haub who lost 27 pounds eating mostly Doritos, Twinkies and other junk food while drinking Diet Mountain Dew. But as usual, they’re misrepresenting the story. You can lose weight on chemotherapy, too . And most chemotherapy patients lose all kinds of weight due to the mass poisoning of their bodies with synthetic chemicals. Does that mean chemotherapy is weight loss medicine, too? (Don’t laugh, I’ve seen similar conclusions written up in the mainstream media…) Virtually anything can be promoted as a “weight loss miracle” in the following way: The cashew diet? Consider this: You can lose weight by starving yourself (by eating nothing). That promotes rapid weight loss as long as you stick to it — which is, of course, nearly impossible to do for very long. If you’re fasting and living on nothing but water, suppose you gulp down one cashew once a day. You’re still going to lose all kinds of weight because you’re severely restricting your calories. Does that mean you’ve made some great discovery about a “cashew diet?” Of course not. It just means you’re burning a lot more calories than you’re consuming. What if you pop a Tic-Tac once a day while you’re fasting? Have you now discovered some amazing “Tic-Tac weight loss diet?” Nope. You’re just fasting with a Tic-Tac. It’s the same story with Slim-Fast. Can you lose weight on Slim-Fast even though it’s made primarily with processed table sugar? Sure you can! Just go a severe calorie-restriction diet, and drink some Slim-Fast from time to time. Heck, you can lose weight eating Halloween candy if you restrict your calories! The nutrition professor who lost 27 pounds was simply on a calorie restriction diet (a partial fast, if you will) that included a slew of processed junk food. Did he discover some miracle junk food diet? Nope. He just controlled his calories while poisoning himself with junk food chemicals and artificially modified food ingredients. Weight loss alone is no measure of good health The really important part of this story, of however, is realizing that weight loss alone is no measure of good health. When you see people withering away from the effects of chemotherapy and radiation for cancer treatments, you don’t think to yourself, “Gosh, I wish I could be that healthy! Look how amazingly healthy they are!” No, you think to yourself, “That person is dying!” And then there’s the whole nutritional side of this story . Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Oreos are called “junk food” precisely because they represent the nutritional equivalent of garbage. They lack virtually all naturally-occurring plant-based phytonutrients and deliver almost no natural minerals or vitamins. Instead, they’re made of processed, modified, factory-fabricated food ingredients that are linked to diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer. And that’s not to even mention the aspartame in the Diet Mountain Dew this guy was chugging. Perhaps that’s why even this nutrition professor, while living on a “junk food” diet, was smart enough to take a multivitamin, eat a serving of vegetables and drink a protein shake each day. So even he wasn’t “living on junk food” as the headlines claim. He was supplementing his diet with at least some source of nutrition because he knew junk foods were going to leave him nutritionally deficient. It would be a totally different story if he lived on junk foods alone . In that scenario, he would very quickly become deficient in key vitamins, and he’d find himself in a hospital being treated for serious diseases as a result. The mainstream media, of course, completely fails to understand the real story here, and they’ve been reporting this as some sort of “junk food diet breakthrough” that suggests people can live on Twinkies and Ding Dongs while somehow losing weight and getting healthy. But we’ve already done that experiment in America , and the results are clear: Two-thirds of the population is overweight, and diabetes rates are soaring. Cancer is a multi-billion-dollar industry, and Big Pharma can’t wait for the coming wave of Alzheimer’s patients either. All that disease is promoted in part by the consumption of processed junk foods. If processed junk food caused healthy weight loss, America would be the healthiest nation in the world. Clearly that’s not the case, which means the real Ding Dong in this story is the nutrition professor himself who has set a terrible example for the nation to follow and has only offered wrongheaded encouragement to the junk food industry. Why not just cut off his own leg and announce that “amputation promotes weight loss” too? It reminds me of the old joke. An overweight woman says to her friends, “I just lost a hundred and ninety pounds of useless fat.” “How’d you do that?” her friends ask. “I got a divorce.”
TSA feels inside underwear of female ABC News employee

(NaturalNews) TSA agents, always looking to increase their reach (quite literally), are now reaching down the pants and into the underwear of female travelers. This is what happened to an ABC News employee, who described the experience as “worse than going to the gynecologist.” In an ABC News story, this ABC News employee went on to say, “It was embarrassing. It was demeaning. It was inappropriate.” (http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/tsa-responds-passenger-outrages-underwear-search-happen/story?id=12208932) TSA head says everything’s great! TSA head John Pistole, however, said the current system is working just as it was intended to work, and he refuses to back down on any changes (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-21/tsa-chief-says-physical-checks-at-u-s-airports-will-continue.html). This means travelers can expect to continue to be subjected to these ionizing radiation scans (naked body scanners) as well as obscene X-rated pat-downs for the foreseeable future. Apparently, the TSA feels it is entirely appropriate to feel your crotch, palm your breasts and even reach into your pants — and you’re supposed to just sit there and tolerate all this like good little sheeple . In doing this, however, they are offending not just the patriots and freedom-oriented people in America; they’re also feeling up members of the press! And that’s a huge mistake because now all of a sudden the mainstream media is realizing this is no joke . This molestation of passengers is happening to them, too! Suddenly it’s all very “real” to the MSM, you see. In their minds, it’s not just a bunch of conspiracy theorists yacking about this; now it’s an ABC News employee. Now they know this is really happening, and it’s really terrorizing innocent Americans who are merely trying to travel. This is why I like Ron Paul’s suggestion (http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=29ADB2913D928C19D8E7E945B932232B). Let’s all just subject members of Congress to these obscene TSA pat-downs and see how they like it, eh? Let’s see if Senator Harry Reid wants to have some low-pay-grade TSA agent shoving his hands down his underwear and feeling up his junk, just like the rest of us must endure. And what about the U.S. President, his wife and his children? Are they immune to these same obscene pat-downs being offered by the TSA? If so, doesn’t that mean we’re back to a society where the “commoners” are treated like criminals, but the political elite are given special exceptions to this treatment? (Echoes of living under the King of England, anyone?) This has all clearly gone too far. It’s time to voice your opposition to this madness and stand firm on your Fourth Amendment rights which protect us from “unreasonable searches and seizures.” Having TSA agents shove their hands down our pants is clearly unreasonable. It is the kind of action that might be fully expected under a police state, but certainly not in the “land of the free.” Sources for this story include: http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/tsa-responds-passenger-outrages-underwear-search-happen/story?id=12208932
Don’t Touch my Junk – Here’s why I wrote this song (Health Ranger)
November 23, 2010 by Health Blogger
(NaturalNews) Last Wednesday night, I just couldn’t sleep. The story of traveler John Tyner just stuck in my head. “Don’t Touch My Junk” seemed to be a powerful statement from a regular guy standing up to Big Brother. It was the linguistic equivalent of that Chinese student standing in the path of a tank in Tiananmen Square in 1989. And the phrase “Don’t Touch My Junk” kept rolling around inside my head. So instead of trying (and failing) to go to sleep, I got up from my bed and started typing lyrics into my laptop computer. And then the music suddenly struck me — I had recently licensed a song by an amazing composer (Dan Gautreau) that seemed to fit perfectly with this idea, so I began to put the lyrics together with the song. Almost instantly, the chorus line of “Don’t Touch My Junk” was formed. Recording the song in just 9 hours The next day, I started recording this song at about 1 pm. Amazingly, I finished it by 10 pm. Yes — this entire song took no more than nine hours to fully record, mix and produce. I could hardly believe it myself, actually, because usually these things take many days or even weeks to nail down. But this one was just unbelievably rapid because I did all the recording myself, on my laptop, using a high-end microphone and audio input device. The song contains over 440 individual recordings of my voice, singing the lead lines, harmonies, rap lines, etc. The only voice in the song that isn’t mine is the scream. All the harmonies are 100% natural. I don’t use automatic harmonizers. I just sing the harmonies myself and bang them out with eight to twelve layers. As I’ve been recording a lot of songs lately, this process is becoming very efficient, and I can nail the harmonies usually with the first take (practice makes perfect, huh?). But I have to admit that after singing 440+ lines in nine hours, my voice was fairly stressed for the day. That’s a stretch for any recording artist. Where the lyrics came from In terms of the lyrics, my goal was to make this song funny, edgy and even slightly graphic (but not gross). I wanted it to tell the truth about what’s going on in the airports these days, but not to turn people off from getting too detailed about the TSA’s molestation of little kids, for example. That’s just too graphic to put into a song. It’s a delicate balance. It’s hard to make a topic this serious sound funny at the same time. After all, we’re talking about our freedoms here. Frankly, this is no laughing matter, but the “don’t touch my junk” line was just begging for a comedy treatment with a serious message, so I went for it. On projects like these, you never really know what the public will think. No doubt a few people will decide to be offended by the lyrics, but imagine how much more offended they must feel by the TSA agents who actually perform these acts! I think singing as a form of public protest is an important expression that will hopefully raise the kind of awareness that can lead to real changes. After all, it is rather ridiculous that we Americans living here in the “Land of the Free” are being molested by our own government agents in the name of “security.” Origins of some of the lines On another topic, you may notice in the song some lines borrowed from the song “My Humps” by the Black Eyed Peas. That’s where the line “This ain’t your lovely lady lump” comes from. I also borrowed from MC Hammer with the “Don’t Touch This” line that just fit perfectly in the song. The “Lordy Lordy I declare…” line is from an old schoolyard rhyme that today’s youth are probably not that familiar with, but anyone over the age of 40 will instantly recognize it. The rhyme really does mention “London” and “France” which just happens to rhyme with “underpants.” This is not some sleight towards France, by the way. It’s just the way the rhyme goes. If anything, France’s airport security procedures make a lot more sense than America’s these days… The Scottish Kilt idea was borrowed from a journalist named Jeffrey Goldberg who writes for The Atlantic (http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2010/11/tsa-opt-out-day-now-with-a-superfantastic-new-twist/66545/). He wrote about this a few days ago as a form of public protest against the TSA’s unreasonable searches. It was a brilliant idea and I wanted to reflect it in the song. I originally recorded it as “Irish Kilt” but then I realized that kilts, even though they were used by the Irish, are more frequently associated with Scots. A “true Scotsman” was a man who wore a kilt with no undergarments. So I went with the Scottish kilt for the song. In all, this song is really a conglomeration of ideas, sentiments and concerns carried in the minds of millions of Americans right now. It merely reflects what they’re thinking — and perhaps what they want to say — with the benefit of being wrapped inside a comedic musical presentation that’s fully protected by Free Speech (the First Amendment, of course). That’s the thing about the Amendments in the Bill of Rights: Each one helps protect the other one. Without the First Amendment, I couldn’t write this song. And frankly, without the Second Amendment, Big Brother wouldn’t bother paying any attention to the People at all. Each of the first 10 Amendments in the Bill of Rights are hugely important to our freedoms. And the entire point of creating the Bill of Rights was to protect the People from government tyranny . In other words, the Bill of Rights was created precisely to protect us from the kind of thing we’re suffering under today with the TSA — an unreasonable, even criminal invasion of our personal space by overzealous government thugs on some sort of runaway power trip. I hope you enjoy this song and share it with your friends. Spread the word that Americans will not put up with TSA tyranny . Big Brother does not have any rights to the junk in your trunk. Here’s the link to the song page where you can download the free MP3 files and view the videos: http://www.naturalnews.com/Dont_Touch_My_Junk.html The complete lyrics to the song “Don’t Touch My Junk (The TSA Hustle)” I went to the airport To catch my flight The TSA put me in the Naked body scanner line I don’t want radiation So I opted out (opt out!) But when they grabbed my man junk I couldn’t help myself I had to shout, I had to shout, I had to get my message out, I said Don’t touch my junk Don’t touch my junk I’ll have you arrested If you touch my junk Don’t touch my junk This ain’t your lovely lady lump I don’t want to be molested So don’t touch my junk So I went back Wearing a Scottish kilt I popped three Viagra To make sure my stuff would not wilt When it came my turn For that nasty pat down They thought I had a weapon So they made me pull it out Don’t touch my junk Don’t touch my junk I’ll have you arrested If you touch my junk Don’t touch my junk Let go of my hump my hump my hump I don’t want to be molested So don’t touch my junk Now who put these morons with a badge in charge, and gave them the right to molest us in the name of security? Don’t touch my junk (can’t touch this) Don’t touch my junk (can’t touch this) They X-rayed my bags and then They patted down my elephant trunk They went up my shorts They went down my pants This ain’t romance No it’s the TSA hustle They felt me up While they put me down They squeezed my butt In that TSA hustle This is happening in the land of the free? Alex Jones was right! I’m gonna smuggle a copy of the Bill of Rights next to my body, so when they reach down there they get a hand full of Fourth Amendment. Lordy Lordy I declare Big Brother’s in my underwear Fly to London, fly to France Big Sis checkin’ out my underpants They went up my shorts (can’t touch this) They went down my pants (can’t touch this) This ain’t romance No it’s the TSA hustle They felt me up Like they were my personal physician Put your hands in the air In the surrender position This ain’t security And this ain’t sex It’s some other kind of tyranny And now you’re next It’s time to stop these Big Brother Nazi thugs Next time you fly just tell ‘em Don’t touch my junk The Bill of Rights, baby. Don’t Touch My Junk – Music video exposes obscene TSA pat downs

(NaturalNews) The socially-conscious music artist who released the wildly popular I Want My Bailout Money song in 2008 has just announced his latest song that takes aim at the TSA’s X-rated airport pat-downs: “Don’t Touch My Junk” is being released today as a free download at www.NaturalNews.com/music Created by Michael Adams (the “Health Ranger”), “Don’t Touch My Junk” exposes the aggressive, obscene pat-down procedures now being used by the TSA on air travelers. The song is based on real dialog from traveler John Tyner who secretly recorded his conversation with TSA officials who tried to perform an “aggressive pat down” on him. He tells them, “Don’t touch my junk, or I’ll have you arrested.” Rapper Michael Adams, also the editor of the pro-health freedom and natural health website NaturalNews.com, incorporated those words into a clever rap song that puts a comedy spin on the issue while delivering a powerful pro-freedom message. The song and lyrics are available at: http://www.naturalnews.com/music The music video is also available at: http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=2728901EDF2CEAE4C0445F00DA3C3F43 The YouTube edition of the video is viewable at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhEMRSp7vaY “This song is about reminding people to invoke their Fourth Amendment rights against unreasonable searches,” says Adams, who adds that “airports are not Constitution-free zones.” The song, which is definitely not for children, features edgy lines about “man junk” and TSA molestation. It also borrows phrases from mainstream pop songs including “My Humps” (Black Eyed Peas) and “Don’t Touch This” (MC Hammer). Popular radio host Alex Jones is also prominently mentioned in the song, along with the Fourth Amendment and the U.S. Bill of Rights. Adams has emerged as a musically talented journalist-turned-rapper who achieved popular grassroots success with the recent release of his song and music video, “Just Say No to GMO” (http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=B459FF2B150FDF4651302A60993D9CF3) which has achieved nearly 400,000 views across the ‘net. Adams, also known as the “Health Ranger,” creates songs that capture popular sentiments about socially-important causes such as civil rights, the psychiatric drugging of children and the safety of the national food supply. All his songs are offered as free MP3 downloads, and Adams earns no income or royalties from the songs. “This song is about communicating an important message on civil liberties. Allowing our own government to finger our junk and molest our wives and children is irreconcilable with the liberties protected by the U.S. Constitution and its Bill of Rights,” Adams sayd. Happy Meal ban may not do much to actually cure obesity
November 9, 2010 by Health Blogger
(NaturalNews) By no means is a McDonald’s Happy Meal a healthy food option for children. And marketing the junk food box with toys is a pretty low and unethical way to peddle cheap garbage to children. But San Francisco’s recent decision to outlaw the Happy Meal — unless it meets certain criteria — may not actually achieve much as far as mitigating the obesity epidemic, according to some. The recent decision by San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors includes mandates that in order for a children’s meal to contain a toy, it must include fruits and vegetables. The entire meal must be less than 600 calories, and only 35 percent of those calories can come from fat. The included beverage must also not be sugary or fatty — meaning no milkshakes or soda beverages. While advocates tout the decision as a giant leap towards ending childhood obesity, critics say that children will likely still be drawn towards the unhealthy food itself, even without the toy. And according to Janet Helm, R.D., author of a blog called Nutrition Unplugged, the ban could actually have the unintended consequence of making children want Happy Meals even more, giving the meals a type of “forbidden fruit” appeal. “In the end, what have we taught families about how to make more nutritious choices?” she is quoted as asking in an MSNBC report. And her question is legitimate, considering that parents are ultimately the ones making the decisions to purchase Happy Meals for their children. They may now simply resort to purchasing the larger adult-sized meals for their kids instead. Standing up against corporate food giants that entice the nation’s children towards junk food with crafty marketing is a definite step in the right direction. But some health advocates believe that continuing to educate the public — and parents in particular — about proper nutrition and how to make quality food choices will make the biggest impact towards improving health and quelling obesity. Parents with poor dietary habits pass down disease to their children

(NaturalNews) They say you are what you eat, but a new study published in the journal Nature has proven that your children are also what you eat. According to the study, fathers who eat lots of junk food pass on traits to their children that make them more susceptible to diseases like type-2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer. Australian and American researchers first tested their hypothesis on rats, feeding young male rats a diet high in bad fats, and pairing the mice with healthy female rats. Compared to young male rats who ate healthier diets, the fat-fed rats produced rat pups with blood glucose levels twice that of the healthy rats’ offspring. The fat-fed rats’ pups also produced about half the amount of insulin as pups from healthy parents. Researchers believe that the food people eat actually changes the DNA in sperm, passing on unhealthy genetic traits to offspring that affects their metabolism and overall bodily function. So experts are urging parents to lay off the junk food and start paying attention to what they eat, especially for their children’s sake. “This is not only for their own health, but for that of the next generation,” wrote the team. Another aspect of genetic inheritance not addressed by the study is the role toxic food chemicals play in the overall health of parents and their children. Many food chemicals disrupt and destroy vital gut insulin, which prevents the body from being able to process blood sugars. Parents that consume such food chemicals also alter the balance of their intestinal flora in ways that are passed down to children. The moral of the story is to avoid processed foods high in bad fats and processed sodium. Avoid foods with toxic food additives like monosodium glutamate (http://www.naturalnews.com/MSG.html), sodium nitrite (http://www.naturalnews.com/sodium_nitrite.html), and high-fructose corn syrup (http://www.naturalnews.com/high-fructose_corn_syrup.html), to name just a few. Three-fourths of Americans obese or overweight by 2020, says alarming report

(NaturalNews) America is already on the verge of drowning in sick-care bankruptcy, but the situation is about to get even worse. According to a new study released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development , three-fourths of Americans will be obese or overweight by 2020. That puts America in first place for the world competition to see which nation can create the most obese population. We’re number one! Seriously, according to the research, America is No. 1 on the world obesity rankings, meaning a higher percentage of the U.S. population is obese (or overweight) than in any other country in the world. Not surprisingly, why this is happening brings up all sorts of different explanations ranging from entirely valid to completely bizarre. But the simple truth of the situation is that Americans are fat because of these three simple reasons: Reason #1) We don’t get much exercise. Reason #2) We eat too much food. Reason #3) The food we eat is mostly processed dead food of marginal nutritional value. These three reasons largely explain why America has become the fattest nation in the world. Why do we eat so much junk food? Knowing this, the next question seems obvious: WHY do we eat so much junk food? The answer may seem complex, but it really isn’t. Americans eat junk food because that’s what’s available and that’s what they’re told to eat by their television sets. You can buy junk foods at any convenience store, gas station or vending machine in America. But getting something that’s actually healthy for you is far more challenging. Most people opt for the quick, easy and cheap solution: Drive-through burgers or genetically modified tacos! Why bother with real food when factory-made imitation food is so much cheaper (and more convenient)? Why don’t we get much exercise? The sad, simple answer is that most Americans are just flat-out sedentary . A recent study revealed that an astonishing 95% of Americans never do anything strenuous — ever! The people you see in the gyms or jogging in public are the 5% who actually engage in some form of exercise. The other 95% of Americans just do don’t much in terms of physical activity, yet at the same time Americans tend to eat huge meal portions that would be considered obscene in many other countries. When I lived in South America, for example, I quickly learned that South American meal portions are about one-fourth the size of a typical North American meal portion (in terms of what restaurants serve you, anyway). A typical one-person meal at a family Mexican restaurant in the United States, in other words, would feed a family of four in Ecuador. This combination of eating larger meals while avoiding most exercise is the “perfect storm” for exploding obesity. It is accelerated even more by the lack of nutritional density in the food people do choose to eat. The nutritional depleted foods we eat Most foods consumed by Americans are heavily processed, factory-made foods. Just check out the grocery carts of the average American shopper — they’re loaded up with the most heavily processed, chemically adulterated imitation food products you can possibly imagine. And there’s a not-so-surprising correlation between the health of the person shopping and the quality of the foods in their cart. Healthy people shop primarily for fresh produce and food staples like legumes and beans. The least healthy people are the ones purchasing canned soups, dinner “helper” products, macaroni and cheese, sweet pastries, cow’s milk, processed meats and cheeses. Not surprisingly, these are the same people who end up in the drive-thru pharmacies, buying their latest round of diabetes drugs. They’re also the same ones driving up your health care costs by destroying their own health and racking up billions of dollars in disease maintenance costs. Think about it: When people buy and eat processed foods, they are not only destroying their own health; they’re passing along the sick-care costs to all the other people who share the cost burden of either private health insurance, Medicaid or Medicare. When a person buys a 99 cent hamburger, they may actually be generating five dollars in future health care costs to be paid by all the rest of us. That’s one reason why obesity is bankrupting America. Many of the junk food eaters seem to think someone else is going to pay for their disease. Someone else is going to fix the broken health care system. Someone else is going to find a cure someday. So why bother changing their own dietary habits anyway? Too many people dismiss their own role in creating the very disease and bankruptcy from which they’re suffering. This is happening at both the personal level and the national level. When America as a nation has its food supply regulated by a corrupt, criminal agency called the FDA that actively censors the truth about healing foods which prevent disease — and then the same country asks “Why are our people so diseased?” — you gotta just shake your head in disbelief. America is obese and diseased precisely because that’s the kind of outcome you’d naturally expect when you imprison the herbalists, shut down the nutritional supplement companies and ban honest health claims about healthy food products while allowing toxic chemicals and GMOs into the food supply. The FDA sure deserves a round of applause here, eh? And then when people actually do get sick, instead of teaching them how to be well, the government pushes an agenda of dangerous chemical medications and vaccine injections that only further compromise health (while driving up health care costs even more). When companies can sell infant formula made with over 50% sugar (http://www.naturalnews.com/029863_Similac_infant_formula.html) and state food stamp programs actually cover such products by making them free to low-income mothers, then of course you’re going to end up raising a generation of obese diabetics! This isn’t rocket science, folks. If you feed a whole generation of people junk foods, liquid sugars (HFCS) and heavily processed foods while promoting chemicals and pharmaceuticals as the answer to health care, you cannot possibly get any result other than widespread obesity, diabetes, cancer and heart disease . It’s no coincidence that’s exactly what we see in America today. The answer is so simple that even a fifth grade could figure it out. We must choose between the People or the corporations If America really wants to get healthy, it’s not a difficult thing. Just put a dozen natural health and nutrition advocates in charge of regulating food, drugs and personal care products. We would clean house and put a whole slew of junk food companies out of business, and then we would restore health freedom to natural product companies so they could communicate the truth about how their products can help people prevent disease . Make no mistake: The American people can never be healthy if Big Pharma and the junk food companies stay in business as they operate today. You literally have to bankrupt all the toxic product industries (or force them to shift to completely different products) in order to save America from the medical bankruptcy that now seems inevitable. But these toxic product industries are very powerful and very influential. They fund political election campaigns and hire armies of lobbyists to get things passed like the recent health care reforms that effectively lock in a Big Pharma monopoly for decades to come. Disease pays big bucks to these powerful corporations , and they’re not about to see Americans get healthier if that would eat into their profits. It would quite literally take some sort of temporary dictator in America to clean house and shut down all the consumer product companies that are right now causing widespread obesity and disease. Although I don’t support dictatorships, if such a dictator did exist and he really wanted to improve the health of the American people, he would have to radically reform or force the shutting down of companies like Coca-Cola, Monsanto, Proctor and Gamble, Johnson and Johnson and Pepsico. All the top pharmaceutical companies would be next: Merck, Pfizer, GSK, Astrazeneca, etc. If you shut down all these companies, seized their products, halted their operations and arrested and prosecuted their top executives for their various crimes against the People, then you might have a shot at improving the long-term health of the American people. Note carefully that this is almost exactly what the FTC and FDA do right now against natural product companies, so this kind of action actually takes place quite regularly (although it’s directed at the wrong companies). This isn’t “something that would never happening in America.” It’s happening right now! (http://www.naturalnews.com/019366.html) It’s all just a matter of national priorities. If America’s politicians would rather protect the health of the profits of giant drug companies and food conglomerates than the health of the working people, then they should just keep doing what they’re already doing… it’s working beautifully! But if they actually want to help Americans get healthy and stay healthy — while saving literally trillions of dollars in long-term health care costs — they’ve got to be willing to put these toxic product companies out of business for good while promoting sensible nutrition and exercise programs through public education campaigns. In other words, the United States government needs to be doing what NaturalNews.com is already doing: Educating people about nutrition, promoting personal health responsibility, teaching disease prevention and fitness. Maybe one day they’ll figure out that the way to have a healthy nation is to start with creating healthy people.
It’s not the bugs in Similac that make me sick – let’s recall the other ingredients (opinion)

(NaturalNews) It has been a few days since Abbott Laboratories, makers of Similac infant formula, issued a recall after discovering some of its products may have been contaminated with beetles (and beetle larvae). The mainstream media ran with this story and parents everywhere suddenly got concerned that their babies might be drinking beetle parts. But are beetles really the scariest thing in Similac? Not by a long shot if you know anything about nutrition. I purchased a 24-oz container of Similac Go and Grow soy-based formula, emblazoned with a cute teddy bear on the front label and positioned towards “9 to 24 months.” It comes with the claim “balanced nutrition for older babies.” But is it really balanced nutrition? 42.6% corn syrup solids The very first ingredient, shown right on the label, is 42.6% CORN SYRUP SOLIDS. I took a picture of the ingredients label so you can see it for yourself. Click here to see the pic: http://naturalnews.com/images/Similac-Label-Ingredients.jpg Stop right there. Are they saying that Similac infant formula is 42.6% corn syrup solids? That’s a form of highly processed sugar. Is this really what infants need — nearly half their formula to be made of corn syrup sugars? Nutritionists would strongly disagree. But it gets even better: The next ingredient is 14.7% SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE . Most soy protein, as NaturalNews readers already know, is derived from a hexane chemical extraction process that we’ve covered in previous articles: http://www.naturalnews.com/026303_soy_protein_hexane.html Beyond the hexane question, did you know that 91% of the soy fields grown in America contain genetically modified soy? The Similac can does not say “non-GMO soy” because it’s not required to be put on the label (thanks to the FDA shell game). But Consumer Reports actually bought and tested infant formula for genetically engineered DNA and found that Similac was using GMO soy in their products. (http://www.consumersunion.org/food/gefny999.htm) The next ingredient in the Similac can I bought is 11.5% HIGH OLEIC SAFFLOWER OIL , followed by 10.1% SUGAR (SUCROSE) . If you’re doing the math on this, that makes Similac 52.7% sugar (corn syrup solids plus the sucrose) with soy protein. I can hardly think of a better way to raise diabetic, obese children than to feed them a diet that’s over 50 percent sugar . It also seems like a great way to get infants addicted to sugar — a curse that will haunt them through the rest of their lives. Next on the list is 8.4% SOY OIL (most likely from GMO soybeans, too) and then 7.8% COCONUT OIL (which is, in my opinion, the only healthy ingredient in the entire product). Basically, then, this Similac product is sugared-up soy protein with safflower and soy oil . Plus it has some chemical “vitamins” on the label such as CYANOCOBALAMIN, the cheapest form of vitamin B-12 available to food manufacturers. It actually binds the vitamin to a cyanide molecule, just in case you were wondering. As wikipedia explains, “B12 refers to a group of cobalt-containing vitamer compounds known as cobalamins: these include cyanocobalamin (an artifact formed as a result of the use of cyanide in the purification procedures).” It then adds, “the cyanocobalamin form of B12 does not occur in nature normally, but is a byproduct of the fact that other forms of B12 are avid binders of cyanide (-CN) which they pick up in the process of activated charcoal purification of the vitamin after it is made by bacteria in the commercial process. Since the cyanocobalamin form of B12 is easy to crystallize and is not sensitive to air-oxidation, it is typically used as a form of B12 for food additives and in many common multivitamins.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_B12) Why Similac should have been recalled long before the beetle incident With this in mind, what we really have with Similac infant formula is powered sugars, genetically modified soy protein, more sugar, safflower and soy oils, a bit of coconut oil and some vitamin chemicals made with cyanide molecules. They also throw in some DHA to make moms think it must somehow resemble breast milk fats. Are you beginning to see why the beetles are the least of the problems with this product? Keep in mind that ignorant moms are feeding this stuff to their babies every single day! They think it’s good for their babies because they don’t take the time to read ingredient labels (or they are unable to understand what the labels mean). But make no mistake: I can’t think of a single informed nutritionist who would recommend feeding babies a powder that’s more than 50% sugar combined with genetically modified soy protein. To do so is actually nutritional child abuse in my view. That’s why I say Similac should be recalled just based on what’s on the label! In my opinion, this is a dangerous combination of sugars and genetically modified ingredients that are likely to promote diabetes, obesity and nutritional imbalances in babies. To feed this to babies is to nutritionally cause them harm, in my opinion… and to think that Abbott Laboratories is making money selling this sugared-up GMO soy protein to consumers just makes me sick. I think their slogan should be something like, “Similac – Creating tomorrow’s diabetics, one baby at a time.” See the ingredients label yourself right here: http://naturalnews.com/images/Similac-Label-Ingredients.jpg Help spread the word Please share this story and send it to moms, dads and anyone who has an infant. Don’t let them feed their babies sugars and GMO soy protein! You have my permission to post this story in full, but please give credit back to this page on NaturalNews.com and cite Mike Adams as the author. We need to reach all the parents who are buying Similac and unknowingly feeding their babies corn syrup solids, GMO soy protein, soy oil, sucrose and other ingredients that I consider to be “pure junk.” No society should allow this junk to be fed to their babies, especially if they’re trying to prevent obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other chronic health problems that are already bankrupting the nation. In my opinion, Similac might be the perfect product to raise a generation of Big Pharma customers who will need a whole battery of prescription drugs to “treat” all the degenerative health conditions caused by eating dead, processed, sugared-up and genetically modified foods. To imagine that this could somehow be a replacement for the rich, complex nutritional abundance of mother’s milk is nutritionally insane. Ridiculously overpriced With Similac, there’s also the price issue. Considering how cheap these ingredients are, this product seems ridiculously overpriced. If you really wanted to feed your baby something almost identical to this, you could just buy your own table sugar (cheaper than dirt), isolated soy protein (also cheaper than dirt), safflower oil (almost cheaper than dirt) and some coconut oil or flax oil (not so cheap, but you don’t need to use much) then mix it all up and add water. But what mom in her right mind would do such a crazy thing? No mom in her right mind would mix up 50% table sugar in a bottle and feed it to her baby, but that’s essentially what she’s doing when feeding her baby this variety of Similac that I purchased. Nutritional insanity has reached a new low with Similac, I submit, and the beetles are the least of the problems with this product line that borders on “nutritional child abuse.” There should seriously be a law against infant formula being made with corn syrup solids and sucrose, not to mention GMO ingredients. Spread the word, folks. That’s the only way people will find out the truth about this and start choosing something that’s healthier for their babies. If we hope to have healthy adults in the future, we have to stop nutritionally abusing them when they’re infants.
