(NaturalNews) The pharmaceutical industry and conventional medicine have deceived the public long enough. The NaturalNews Talk Hour presents Breast Health – The Missing Link with our special guest Patricia Kennedy. Discover the benefits of early prevention NOT detection and the future of modern medicine. “Thanks, Jonathan! You do great work!!!” – Jackie Vitamin D and Breast Cancer According to Centers for Disease Control, “aside from non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States. It is also one of the leading causes of cancer death among women of all races and Hispanic origin populations.” What the CDC hasn’t told you is that scientific evidence suggests that sufficient vitamin d levels can dramatically reduce the risk of breast cancer – worldwide. In 1989, the prestigious medical journal, The Lancet, reported that the most active form of vitamin D (calcitriol) significantly reduced the growth of breast cancer in an animal model. In the 1990s, a group of scientists from the University of California at San Diego provided the first look at how many women may be dying needlessly from breast cancer due to low vitamin D blood levels. In 1997, researchers at the Manchester Royal Infirmary discovered that women with the highest levels of calcitriol in their blood had the best prognosis. Those women with the lowest levels had a more rapidly fatal course. The NaturalNews Talk Hour begins this Thursday evening at 6pm Pacific / 9pm Eastern, and registration is FREE. The Value of Breast Thermography Our next guest, Patricia Kennedy says, “thermography is non-invasive, has zero radiation and is pain-free!” Patricia uses thermography to image breast tissue with a digital infrared camera. This technology provides valuable information on the physiological condition and changes within the breast tissue that may indicate pathology. According to the International Academy of Clinical Thermology, this procedure “is based on the principle that chemical and blood vessel activity in both pre-cancerous tissue and the area surrounding a developing breast cancer is almost always higher than in the normal breast. Since pre-cancerous and cancerous masses are highly metabolic tissues, they need an abundant supply of nutrients to maintain their growth. In order to do this they increase circulation to their cells by sending out chemicals to keep existing blood vessels open, recruit dormant vessels, and create new ones (neoangiogenesis). This process results in an increase in regional surface temperatures of the breast. This week’s guest: Patricia Kennedy – Breast Health – The Missing Link Patricia Kennedy – “Breast Health – The Missing Link” – Thu. Mar. 17 As the Director of Clinical Services at Thermography Clinic London she offers women pain-free technology that detects abnormalities in breast tissue in its earliest stages a” with zero radiation. Patricia put her philosophies into practice providing options for optimal health including cleansing, detoxifying, reflexology and advanced colon hydrotherapy. Don’t become a statistic. Study: Colostrum helps treat leaky gut syndrome

(NaturalNews) Heavy-training athletes, and runners in particular, often suffer from “leaky gut syndrome,” a condition in which bowel health becomes damaged due to increased permeability of gut lining. But a new study published in the American Journal of Physiology – Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology has found a viable solution — bovine colostrum. Colostrum, which is the “first milk” produced by mammals for their offspring prior to actual milk production, is loaded with antibodies, immunoglobulins, and other immune-boosting nutrients. It is known to increase energy levels, protect the intestinal tract, ward off infection, and even reverse aging (http://www.naturalnews.com/022851.html). For the study, Ray Playford, Professor of Medicine at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, and his colleagues instructed a group of athletes to run for 20 minutes at 80 percent of their aerobic maximum. Upon completion, the runners provided the team with urine samples for evaluation. The team noted a 250 percent increase in gut leakage, as well as a two-degree increase in body temperature, due to the training. In a second experiment, the runners performed the same test again, but this time took colostrum every day for two weeks prior. At the end of the second trial, researchers noted an 80 percent decrease in leaky gut compared to the first trial, indicating a clear connection between colostrum consumption and improvements in gut health. “Athletes’ performance can be seriously diminished due to gut symptoms during heavy exercise,” said Playford. “We have been looking at natural approaches to reduce this problem as the range of products that athletes can legitimately take is very limited. Our findings suggest colostrum may have real value in helping our athletes perform.” Other athletic benefits of colostrum include prolonged endurance, prevention of upper respiratory infections, and increased levels of anaerobic strength. Tart cherries help speed muscle recovery

(NaturalNews) A new study published in the American College of Sports Medicine journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise suggests that eating a small amount of tart cherries helps improve muscle recovery in athletes after an intense workout. The findings add to the growing body of evidence that illustrates the amazing healing power of tart cherries. Researchers from the Sports and Exercise Science Research Center at London South Bank University in the U.K. administered one-ounce servings of tart cherry juice twice daily to ten trained athletes seven days prior to an intense workout, and two days after it. Another group of athletes was given a different type of juice without tart cherry. Twenty-four hours after the workout, those drinking the tart cherry juice regained 90 percent of their muscle function, while the control group regained only 85 percent of muscle function. The powerful antioxidant compounds in cherries are believed to be the nutrient of benefit in this case, as oxidative damage to muscles is reduced in their presence. As a result, muscles are able to recover more quickly. “Cherries are what I call an ultimate super food,” said Dr. Wendy Bazilian, Ph.D., a registered dietician and author of the book The SuperFoodsRx Diet: Lose Weight with the Power of SuperNutrients , concerning the study. “Not only are they a perfect complement to a training routine since they’re available year-round in dried, frozen and juice forms, but they taste great.” A peer-reviewed study put out by Michigan State University in 2008 identified a compound in tart cherries that helps naturally relieve pain better than over-the-counter pain drugs like aspirin (http://www.naturalnews.com/023038_cherries_natural_tart.html). Tart cherries are also known to help with sleep, reduce fat, treat gout, and even fight cancer (http://www.naturalnews.com/tart_cherries.html). New research: post-9/11 architecture of fear turns cities into police state zones

(NaturalNews) Almost a decade after the 9/11 attacks on the U.S., significant downtown areas in some of this country’s most prominent cities remain largely sealed off with metal gates and barriers. The explanation is that these urban areas allegedly need “security zones” to protect the populace from terrorist attacks. But a new study just published in the journal Environment and Planning A concludes this “architecture of fear” has done nothing but blight the landscape, limit public access and may promote paranoia. “Our most open, public cities are becoming police states,” study author Jeremy Nemeth, a University of Colorado Denver assistant professor of planning and design, said in a statement to the press. “While a certain amount of security is necessary after terror attacks, no amount of anti-terror architecture would have stopped the 9/11 attacks, or the Madrid or London subway bombings. And by limiting access and closing off space, we limit the potential for more ‘eyes on the street’ to catch possible acts in the process.” If supposed continued terror threats dictate the need for so-called “security zones”, Nemeth argues these areas should be planned and designed in ways that involve the public and are useful to downtown built environments. “Right now they consist of haphazard placement of metal gates, Jersey barriers and cones. But if these are to become permanent additions to the urban landscapes, we must understand how to integrate them into the existing built fabric,” he stated. The new study is the first to compare public and private security districts in multiple cities. It included research into areas of downtown Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco and found that while each city values protecting potential terrorist targets, what each city considers off-limits varies widely. In fact, almost 40 percent of New York’s civic center district is now in a “security zone” where it can be accessed only by people with the “proper clearance”. On the other hand, less than four percent of San Francisco’s civic center area has the same designation. However, a huge 23 acres area of public space in Los Angeles has been placed in a hard-to-access “security zone”. Not only do these designated “security zones” affect the way landmark buildings now look, but Nemeth also noted they reflect an actual architecture based on fear. For example, embassies and other perceived targets now frequently have a bunker-like appearance. Although the “architecture of fear” and restricted areas are aimed at assuring both property developers concerned with investment risk and residents and tourists with the idea that any lurking terror threats are being addressed, Nemeth pointed out that there’s a question as to whether these measures actually do much to protect the public at all. “Indeed, overt security measures may be no more effective than covert intelligence techniques,” he concluded. Don’t Touch my Junk – Here’s why I wrote this song (Health Ranger)
November 23, 2010 by Health Blogger
(NaturalNews) Last Wednesday night, I just couldn’t sleep. The story of traveler John Tyner just stuck in my head. “Don’t Touch My Junk” seemed to be a powerful statement from a regular guy standing up to Big Brother. It was the linguistic equivalent of that Chinese student standing in the path of a tank in Tiananmen Square in 1989. And the phrase “Don’t Touch My Junk” kept rolling around inside my head. So instead of trying (and failing) to go to sleep, I got up from my bed and started typing lyrics into my laptop computer. And then the music suddenly struck me — I had recently licensed a song by an amazing composer (Dan Gautreau) that seemed to fit perfectly with this idea, so I began to put the lyrics together with the song. Almost instantly, the chorus line of “Don’t Touch My Junk” was formed. Recording the song in just 9 hours The next day, I started recording this song at about 1 pm. Amazingly, I finished it by 10 pm. Yes — this entire song took no more than nine hours to fully record, mix and produce. I could hardly believe it myself, actually, because usually these things take many days or even weeks to nail down. But this one was just unbelievably rapid because I did all the recording myself, on my laptop, using a high-end microphone and audio input device. The song contains over 440 individual recordings of my voice, singing the lead lines, harmonies, rap lines, etc. The only voice in the song that isn’t mine is the scream. All the harmonies are 100% natural. I don’t use automatic harmonizers. I just sing the harmonies myself and bang them out with eight to twelve layers. As I’ve been recording a lot of songs lately, this process is becoming very efficient, and I can nail the harmonies usually with the first take (practice makes perfect, huh?). But I have to admit that after singing 440+ lines in nine hours, my voice was fairly stressed for the day. That’s a stretch for any recording artist. Where the lyrics came from In terms of the lyrics, my goal was to make this song funny, edgy and even slightly graphic (but not gross). I wanted it to tell the truth about what’s going on in the airports these days, but not to turn people off from getting too detailed about the TSA’s molestation of little kids, for example. That’s just too graphic to put into a song. It’s a delicate balance. It’s hard to make a topic this serious sound funny at the same time. After all, we’re talking about our freedoms here. Frankly, this is no laughing matter, but the “don’t touch my junk” line was just begging for a comedy treatment with a serious message, so I went for it. On projects like these, you never really know what the public will think. No doubt a few people will decide to be offended by the lyrics, but imagine how much more offended they must feel by the TSA agents who actually perform these acts! I think singing as a form of public protest is an important expression that will hopefully raise the kind of awareness that can lead to real changes. After all, it is rather ridiculous that we Americans living here in the “Land of the Free” are being molested by our own government agents in the name of “security.” Origins of some of the lines On another topic, you may notice in the song some lines borrowed from the song “My Humps” by the Black Eyed Peas. That’s where the line “This ain’t your lovely lady lump” comes from. I also borrowed from MC Hammer with the “Don’t Touch This” line that just fit perfectly in the song. The “Lordy Lordy I declare…” line is from an old schoolyard rhyme that today’s youth are probably not that familiar with, but anyone over the age of 40 will instantly recognize it. The rhyme really does mention “London” and “France” which just happens to rhyme with “underpants.” This is not some sleight towards France, by the way. It’s just the way the rhyme goes. If anything, France’s airport security procedures make a lot more sense than America’s these days… The Scottish Kilt idea was borrowed from a journalist named Jeffrey Goldberg who writes for The Atlantic (http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2010/11/tsa-opt-out-day-now-with-a-superfantastic-new-twist/66545/). He wrote about this a few days ago as a form of public protest against the TSA’s unreasonable searches. It was a brilliant idea and I wanted to reflect it in the song. I originally recorded it as “Irish Kilt” but then I realized that kilts, even though they were used by the Irish, are more frequently associated with Scots. A “true Scotsman” was a man who wore a kilt with no undergarments. So I went with the Scottish kilt for the song. In all, this song is really a conglomeration of ideas, sentiments and concerns carried in the minds of millions of Americans right now. It merely reflects what they’re thinking — and perhaps what they want to say — with the benefit of being wrapped inside a comedic musical presentation that’s fully protected by Free Speech (the First Amendment, of course). That’s the thing about the Amendments in the Bill of Rights: Each one helps protect the other one. Without the First Amendment, I couldn’t write this song. And frankly, without the Second Amendment, Big Brother wouldn’t bother paying any attention to the People at all. Each of the first 10 Amendments in the Bill of Rights are hugely important to our freedoms. And the entire point of creating the Bill of Rights was to protect the People from government tyranny . In other words, the Bill of Rights was created precisely to protect us from the kind of thing we’re suffering under today with the TSA — an unreasonable, even criminal invasion of our personal space by overzealous government thugs on some sort of runaway power trip. I hope you enjoy this song and share it with your friends. Spread the word that Americans will not put up with TSA tyranny . Big Brother does not have any rights to the junk in your trunk. Here’s the link to the song page where you can download the free MP3 files and view the videos: http://www.naturalnews.com/Dont_Touch_My_Junk.html The complete lyrics to the song “Don’t Touch My Junk (The TSA Hustle)” I went to the airport To catch my flight The TSA put me in the Naked body scanner line I don’t want radiation So I opted out (opt out!) But when they grabbed my man junk I couldn’t help myself I had to shout, I had to shout, I had to get my message out, I said Don’t touch my junk Don’t touch my junk I’ll have you arrested If you touch my junk Don’t touch my junk This ain’t your lovely lady lump I don’t want to be molested So don’t touch my junk So I went back Wearing a Scottish kilt I popped three Viagra To make sure my stuff would not wilt When it came my turn For that nasty pat down They thought I had a weapon So they made me pull it out Don’t touch my junk Don’t touch my junk I’ll have you arrested If you touch my junk Don’t touch my junk Let go of my hump my hump my hump I don’t want to be molested So don’t touch my junk Now who put these morons with a badge in charge, and gave them the right to molest us in the name of security? Don’t touch my junk (can’t touch this) Don’t touch my junk (can’t touch this) They X-rayed my bags and then They patted down my elephant trunk They went up my shorts They went down my pants This ain’t romance No it’s the TSA hustle They felt me up While they put me down They squeezed my butt In that TSA hustle This is happening in the land of the free? Alex Jones was right! I’m gonna smuggle a copy of the Bill of Rights next to my body, so when they reach down there they get a hand full of Fourth Amendment. Lordy Lordy I declare Big Brother’s in my underwear Fly to London, fly to France Big Sis checkin’ out my underpants They went up my shorts (can’t touch this) They went down my pants (can’t touch this) This ain’t romance No it’s the TSA hustle They felt me up Like they were my personal physician Put your hands in the air In the surrender position This ain’t security And this ain’t sex It’s some other kind of tyranny And now you’re next It’s time to stop these Big Brother Nazi thugs Next time you fly just tell ‘em Don’t touch my junk The Bill of Rights, baby. Mobile phones may soon diagnose for STDs
November 8, 2010 by Health Blogger

(NaturalNews) Young people already use their mobile phones to share their most personal details with those in their social circles, but a new project out of the U.K could take cell phone “intimacy” to a whole new level. According to a recent Guardian report, researchers are in the process of developing a new technology that allows users to put a urine or saliva sample on a small chip and insert it into their mobile phone to test for sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs). It may sound like a joke — and a highly unsanitary one at that — but it is quite real. A six-and-a-half million dollar research project that is part of the U.K. Clinical Research Collaboration is working on creating the device right now as a way to encourage young people who are otherwise too scared or intimidated to go to a doctor, to get tested for STDs if they think they might have one. “Your mobile phone can be your mobile doctor,” explained Dr. Tariq Sadiq, senior lecturer and consultant physician in sexual health and HIV at St. George’s, University of London, and lead of the project. “It diagnoses whether you’ve got one of a range of STIs (sexually-transmitted infections), such as chlamydia or gonorrhea and tells you where to go next to get treatment.” Interestingly, the technology has the potential to be an even more embarrassing invasion of privacy than seeing a doctor would be, since the results of the tests are tied directly back to the owner of the phone. And what happens to those results after they are determined is unclear from the report. Also, researchers did not address the negative ramifications of putting potentially-contaminated bodily fluids into mobile devices that are handled by more than just personal users. Girls now reaching puberty at age nine, thanks to chemicals in the food supply (milk and plastics)
October 30, 2010 by Health Blogger
(NaturalNews) The average age of puberty in girls is now nine, in a phenomenon increasingly being blamed on rising obesity and exposure to hormone-disrupting pollutants in the food supply. The study was conducted in 2006 by researchers from the world-renowned Department of Growth and Reproduction at University Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark. The researchers found that among 1,000 girls, the average age of breast development was nine years and 10 months, a full year earlier than when a similar study was conducted in 1991. “We were very surprised that there had been such a change in a period of just 15 years,” researcher Anders Juul said. Although the study was conducted in Denmark, experts believe that it applies to other parts of the First World, including Europe and the United States. This earlier age of maturation is even more striking when compared with the 19th century, when girls reached puberty at an average age of 15, and boys reached it at 17. Since then, the age of puberty has moved back steadily, until age 14 for boys and age 12 for girls were formally declared “normal” in the 1960s. These numbers were based on the average age of first period for girls and of voices breaking for boys. It’s not just scientific studies suggesting these figures are now obsolete; anecdotal reports of boys dropping out of choir schools when their voices break at age 12 or 13 are now widespread. According to Richard Stanhope, an expert in childhood hormonal disorders, specialists are now convinced that early puberty is a real phenomenon. Early puberty can be hard on children who are mature physically but still young emotionally, experts warn. “All the things we experience as teenagers are difficult enough to cope with, but when it happens at 10 or 11 it is much worse,” Stanhope said. “These children are also at a much higher risk of being sexually abused, because it is hard for some adults to understand and behave appropriately towards them.” A girl interviewed anonymously by the Times of London said her early development subjected her to teasing at school. “I had to wear a bra at nine,” she said. “I used to pretend to be ill to get out of changing for PE. The worst part was men coming on to me as though I was an adult when actually I was 11.” The biological risks can also be dire. Earlier menarche in girls means a longer lifetime exposure to estrogen, which has been linked to an increased risk of breast cancer and heart disease. “If girls mature early, they run into teenage problems at an early age and they’re more prone to diseases later on,” Juul said. “We should be worried about this regardless of what we think the underlying reasons might be. It’s a clear sign that something is affecting our children, whether it’s junk food, environmental chemicals or lack of physical activity.” “We don’t know if this is the result of better nutrition or environmental factors, but it does create social problems for girls who are already living in a sexualized society,” agreed Richard Sharpe, head of the human reproductive sciences unit for the United Kingdom’s Medical Research Council. The cause of early puberty remains contested, but the condition has been convincingly linked both to increased obesity rates and to exposure to endocrine-disrupting toxins such as bisphenol A, the chemical found in plastic water bottles and lining canned foods and beverages. Supporting both of these hypotheses, a recent study in the journal Public Health Nutrition found that while only 35 percent of girls who ate meat four times a week or fewer had reached puberty by age 12.5, 49 percent of those who ate meat 12 times a week had done so. Levels of persistent organic pollutants are typically higher in foods high in animal fat, such as meat and dairy. Inexpensive dietary supplement helps to prevent birth defects

(NaturalNews) Many medical professionals recommend that pregnant women take folic acid–also known as vitamin B9–as part of a prenatal supplement regimen designed to help ensure a healthy pregnancy. But new research out of the U.K. suggests that taking inositol along with folic acid will greatly decrease the chances that a baby will be born with spina bifida. Inositol is a naturally-occurring nutrient found in many common foods like meat and vegetables. In tests conducted on mice, the substance exhibited a significant therapeutic effect that deterred the onset of neural tube defects. “[F]rom our experimental work we know inositol can stimulate cells in the developing embryo to proliferate more quickly, and that corrects the defect that would develop in spina bifida,” explained Dr. Nick Greene from University College London, one of the study researchers. The human clinical trial evaluating inositol’s effects on pregnancy is still underway, but preliminary results thus far are positive. Anne Marie Hodkinson, one of the trial participants, has had good success with the supplement as she treks through her second pregnancy. Her first child was born with spina bifida despite her having taken folic acid for several years before that pregnancy. But taking inositol during her second pregnancy has helped prevent her second child from developing the disease. The clinical trial is still underway and Dr. Greene is urging other women in the U.K. to participate. Together with folic acid, inositol appears to be a surefire way to avoid bearing children with birth defects. And if all continues to go well, the study could result in both supplements being recommended by authorities to all women of childbearing age. Editor’s Note: NaturalNews is strongly against the use of all forms of animal testing. We fully support the implementation of humane medical experimentation that promotes the health and well-being of all living creatures. Vitamin D proven far better than vaccines at preventing influenza infections
September 16, 2010 by Health Blogger
(NaturalNews) If scientists discovered something that worked better than vaccines at preventing influenza, you’d think they would jump all over it, right? After all, isn’t the point to protect children and adults from influenza? A clinical trial led by Mitsuyoshi Urashima and conducted by the Division of Molecular Epidemiology in the the Department of Pediatrics at the Jikei University School of Medicine Minato-ku in Tokyo found that vitamin D was extremely effective at halting influenza infections in children . The trial appears in the March, 2010 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Am J Clin Nutr (March 10, 2010). doi:10.3945/ajcn.2009.29094) The results are from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 334 children, half of which were given 1200 IUs per day of vitamin D3. In other words, this was a “rigorous” scientific study meeting the gold standard of scientific evidence. In the study, while 31 of 167 children in the placebo group contracted influenza over the four month duration of the study, only 18 of 168 children in the vitamin D group did. This means vitamin D was responsible for an absolute reduction of nearly 8 percent . Flu vaccines, according to the latest scientific evidence, achieve a 1 percent reduction in influenza symptoms (http://www.naturalnews.com/029641_vaccines_junk_science.html). This means vitamin D appears to be 800% more effective than vaccines at preventing influenza infections in children. To further support this, what really needs to be done is a clinical trial directly comparing vitamin D supplements to influenza vaccines with four total groups: Group #1 receives a vitamin D placebo Group #2 receives real vitamin D (2,000 IUs per day) Group #3 receives an influenza vaccine injection Group #4 receives an inert injection Groups 1 and 2 should be randomized and double blind while groups 3 and 4 should also be randomized and double blind. The results would reveal the comparative effectiveness of vitamin D versus influenza vaccines. Unfortunately, such a trial will never be conducted because vaccine pushers already know this trial would show their vaccines to be all but useless. So they won’t subject vaccines to any real science that compares it to vitamin D. Vitamin D also significantly reduced asthma in children Getting back to the study, another fascinating result from the trial is that if you remove those children from the study who were already being given vitamin D by their parents, so that you are only looking at children who started out with no vitamin D supplementation before the trial began, the results look even better as vitamin D reduced relative infection risk by nearly two-thirds . More than six out of ten children who would have normally been infected with influenza, in other words, were protected by vitamin D supplementation. Also revealed in the study: vitamin D strongly suppressed symptoms of asthma . In children with a previous asthma diagnosis, 12 of those receiving no vitamin D experienced asthma attacks. But in the vitamin D group, only 2 children did. While this subset sample size is small, it does offer yet more evidence that vitamin D prevents asthma attacks in children, and this entirely consistent with the previous evidence on vitamin D which shows it to be a powerful nutrient for preventing asthma. Vaccine pushers aren’t followers of real science Now, given that vitamin D3 shows such a powerful effect in preventing influenza — with 800% increased efficacy over vaccines — shouldn’t CDC officials, doctors and health authorities be rushing to recommend vitamin D before flu season arrives? Of course they should. But they won’t. Because for them, it’s not about actually preventing influenza and it never has been. The vaccine pushing camp is primarily interested in using influenza as an excuse to vaccinate more people regardless of whether such vaccines are useful (or safe). Even if vitamin D offered 100% protection against all influenza infections, they still wouldn’t recommend it. Why? Because they flatly don’t believe in nutrition! It runs counter to their med school programming which says that nutrients are useless and only drugs, vaccines and surgery count as real medicine. The vaccine pushers, you see, aren’t followers of real science. You could publish a hundred studies proving how vitamin D is many times more effective than vaccines and they still would never recommend it. They are promoters of medical dogma rather than real solutions for patients. They promote vaccines because… well… that’s what they’ve always promoted, and that’s what their colleagues promote. And how could so many smart people be wrong, anyway? But that’s the history of science: A whole bunch of really smart people turn out to be wrong on a regular basis. That’s usually how science advances, by the way: A new idea challenges an old assumption, and after all the defenders of the old (wrong) idea die off, science manages to inch its way forward against the hoots and heckles of a determined dogmatic resistance. This attitude is blatantly reflected in a quote from Dr John Oxford, a professor of virology at Queen Mary School of Medicine in London, whose reaction to this study was: “This is a timely study. It will be noticed by scientists. It fits in with the seasonal pattern of flu. There is an increasing background of solid science that makes the vitamin D story credible. But this study needs to be replicated. If it is confirmed we might think of giving vitamin D at the same time as we vaccinate.” (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/scotland/article7061778.ece) Did you notice his concluding remark? He wasn’t even considering the idea that vitamin D might replace vaccines. Rather, he’s assuming vitamin D only has value if given together with vaccines! You see this in the cancer industry, too, with anti-cancer herbs and nutrients. Any time an anti-cancer nutrient gains some press (which isn’t very often), the cancer doctor will say things like, “Well, this might be useful to give to a patient after chemotherapy…” but never as a replacement for chemo, you see. Many mainstream doctors and medical scientists are simply incapable of thinking outside the very limiting boxes into which their brains have been shoved through years of de-education in medical schools. When they see evidence contrary to what they’ve been taught, they foolishly dismiss it. “The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence whatever that it is not utterly absurd; indeed in view of the silliness of the majority of mankind, a widespread belief is more likely to be foolish than sensible.” – Bertrand Russell Medical journals as guardians of ignorance Medical journals largely function not as beacons of scientific truth but as defenders of pseudoscientific dogma . To have your paper published in most journals, your paper must meet the expectations and beliefs of that journal’s editor. Thus, the advancement of scientific knowledge reflected in each journal is limited to the current beliefs of just one person — the editor of that journal. Truly pioneering research that challenges the status quo is almost always rejected. Only papers that confirm the presently-held beliefs of the journal’s editorial staff are accepted for publication. This is one reason why medical science, in particular, advances so slowly. Studies that show vitamin D to be more effective than vaccines will rarely see the light of day in the scientific community. It is to the great credit of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, in fact, that it accepted the publication of this paper by Mitsuyoshi Urashima. Most medical journals wouldn’t dare touch it because it questions status quo beliefs about vaccines and influenza. Medical journals, you see, are largely funded by the pharmaceutical industry. And Big Pharma doesn’t want to see any studies lending credibility to vitamins, regardless of their scientific merit. Even if vitamin D could save America billions of dollars in reduced health care costs (which it can, actually), they don’t want vitamin D to receive any scientific backing whatsoever because drug companies can’t patent vitamin D . It’s readily available to everyone for mere pennies a day. In time, it will be recognized as superior to vaccines for seasonal flu, but for now, we must all suffer under the foolish propaganda of an industry that has abandoned science and now worships a needle.
