ASA sues Obama Administration for interfering with state, local medical marijuana laws

(NaturalNews) The battle continues to rage between the individual states and the federal government over the legalized cultivation and use of medical marijuana. Americans for Safe Access (ASA), the nation’s largest medical marijuana advocacy organization, has now filed a lawsuit against the Obama Administration’s Justice Department for aggressively trying to subvert state and local laws by shutting down legal medical marijuana dispensaries. California, Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado, and a handful of other US states all have laws on the books that permit the growth, possession, and use of medical marijuana in some way, shape, or form. But the federal government still ignorantly classifies the natural plant as a Schedule I narcotic under the Controlled Substances Act, a tenet of the “War on Drugs” that has been a source of much conflict over the past several years. This ongoing clash between state and federal law has led to numerous federal raids of medical marijuana growers and distributors, particularly in the State of California where medical marijuana laws are among the most lenient, and where the plant is most utilized. The federal government also routinely intimidates local officials to try to get them to ban medical marijuana dispensaries. In a most recent raid, for instance, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) stormed Northstone Organics, a fully-licensed marijuana cultivation collective in Mendocino County, Cal. Agents reportedly cut down all 99 of the group’s marijuana plants, and handcuffed the owner and his wife with zip-ties. With a lawsuit, ASA hopes to finally put an end to this type of federal government oppression of medical marijuana both in California, and in the other states that have legalized the plant. “Although the Obama Administration is entitled to enforce federal marijuana laws, the Tenth Amendment forbids it from using coercive tactics to commandeer the law-making functions of the State,” said ASA Chief Counsel Joe Elford, who filed the lawsuit in San Francisco’s Federal District Court. “This case is aimed at restoring California’s sovereign and constitutional right to establish its own public health laws based on this country’s federalist principles.” For the first time ever, a recent Gallup poll shows that most Americans now support legalizing marijuana. And then a realization hit me like a sledgehammer… People are only following by example These random acts of tyranny aren’t really random acts at all. They are the infantile acting-out of behaviors the childish American public has witnessed being demonstrated by their “leaders.” The TSA sexually molesting air travelers isn’t just a violation of fundamental human rights — it’s also a demonstration to the mindless masses that this is now “normal” behavior in society, you see. So as the masses observe Big Government reaching down their own pants, they now get the message that it’s okay to sexually molest little boys at sports stadiums, or that it’s okay to take children away from parents through C.P.S. and then rape them as part of child relocation “processing” procedures. When the American people see George Bush set up secret military prisons and condone waterboarding torture techniques, they called for Obama to stop the practice. Obama promised he would, and then not long after becoming President, he expanded Gitmo and actually presided over an increase in funding for the military and all its secret torture facilities. The message to the American people? If Obama supports it, then torture must be okay. After all, he won a Nobel Peace Prize, so “peace” must be something that can be achieved through torture. Thus, we should not be at all surprised when an 89-year-old woman gets water-boarded in a nursing home. After all, those staffers are only doing to her what they’ve watched the U.S. leaders do to other human beings, too. (And yet, for some reason, the nursing home staff were arrested while all the high-level government operatives who engage in the exact same torture techniques are never even questioned…) This phenomenon of everyday American people mirroring the behavior of federal “authorities” who act as tyrants needed a name, and as I began to ponder this issue, the name came to me in a flash: I’m calling this phenomenon Trickle-Down Tyranny . Trickle-Down Tyranny Just as children mimic the actions of their parents, the childish minds of the insecure (and fear-pummeled) mainstream masses also mimic the actions of their parental role models. To many Americans — and especially those of a more liberal mindset — government takes on the role of their parents . The government is supposed to tell you what to eat, what to buy, what to believe and of course how to express your patriotism when needed to justify the latest war launched by a Nobel-Peace-Prize-winning warmonger. Government is the “authority” and the problem solver in the lives of these people. So naturally, in their childish mindset they seek to replicate the behaviors their parental role models are openly exhibiting. Here’s how this looks on the street: Your average city police officer is a wannabe tyrant who now, by watching the criminality of the federal government, feels he has permission to engage in the same tactics of intimidation and arrogance in ruling over the public (rather than serving to protect them). That’s why so many big-city police officers have recently morphed into paramilitary jack-booted thugs; dressing in black, unlawfully arresting people for no justifiable reason, tasering innocent victims in wheelchairs, and generally acting out what is essentially a childish reflection of the very same tyranny they witness being demonstrated by high-level tyrants in Washington D.C. The FBI, for its part, is busy actually masterminding the very same “terror plots” that it then magically “prevents” with great fanfare. What these people claim to be doing — “stopping terrorism!” — pales in comparison to what they’re really doing: setting examples to be followed by every single person across America who finds himself or herself in a position of authority. But this is the level of outrageous hallucinations and total lunatic paranoia that has been unleashed on the American people today by a fear-mongering, imperialist government which worships fear and terror with almost cult-like zealousness. TSA now bribing travelers to disclose extra personal information in exchange for faster screenings

(NaturalNews) The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has launched a new pilot program that bribes air travelers to “voluntarily” surrender personal and other information in exchange for an expedited and less-invasive screening experience at the airport. And the program has reportedly been so successful at the first few airports in which it was tested that the Obama Administration is planning to expand it to many more airports. Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County, Dallas Fort Worth International, and Miami International Airport all participated in the TSA’s PreCheck program which was unveiled last month. The program offers certain American Airlines (AA) and Delta Air Lines (DAL) frequent fliers the “opportunity” to avoid full-body pat downs and naked body scans by agreeing to provide the TSA with information about themselves. Lest anyone forget, these heinous TSA “enhanced” security protocols, which were unveiled just over a year ago, are a blatant violation of the Fourth Amendment to the US Constitution. And throughout the past year, we here at NaturalNews have covered numerous incidents of abuse involving these protocols by TSA agents against passengers. But instead of scrapping these illegal invasions of personal privacy, the TSA is now using them as a deterrent to persuade the public into surrendering personal information instead. The TSA obviously knows its “enhanced” screening requirements are excessive, unreasonable, and felonious, which is why it is now offering incentives to travelers to bypass them. In a press release announcing PreCheck , the TSA specifically states that the surrendering of personal information in exchange for faster and less-intrusive screenings is “voluntary,” because it knows that it cannot technically force this information out of travelers. Using its illegal screenings as a way to extort information is basically the same thing — it is just far less obvious to most travelers who will be more than willing to “voluntarily” concede to this TSA extortion racket. Former top Democrat says when Obamacare takes effect, small businesses will drop employee health coverage

(NaturalNews) In regard to the health care “reform” measure in 2009, President Barack Obama assured the nation that the 1000-plus page measure was vital – vital – to ensure that all Americans were finally covered by health insurance. In praising its passage in the House, Obama said the measure “will begin the process of fixing what’s broken about our health care system, reducing costs for all, building on what works, and covering an estimated 97 percent of all Americans.” That prediction isn’t likely to come true, for even a former head of the Democratic Party says not only will millions of Americans lose their preferred coverage after the so-called “Obamacare” legislation kicks in completely, but its price tag is liable to double. Howard Dean, a physician, onetime Democratic candidate for president and former head of the Democratic National Committee, said this week that when Obamacare takes full effect, as many as one-third of the nation’s small businesses will opt to drop their employee coverage. “This is very good for small business,” Dean said. “There was a McKinsey study, which the Democrats don’t like, but I do, and I think it’s true. Most small businesses are not going to be in the health insurance business anymore after this thing goes into effect.” The study pointed out that one of Obama’s key promises – that employees would be able to keep their employer-provided insurance plans – won’t be true for employees of about 45 percent of small businesses, because those same businesses are planning to drop employee coverage because it’ll be cheaper for them to do so. Which leads to the second of Obama’s two main promises – that his healthcare reform measure won’t add to the nation’s deficit. As it turns out, employees who are tossed off their employer’s plans will then be eligible to sign up for one of those government (read taxpayer ) provided health insurance exchange pools. And that, as they say, is where the real money is. Regarding Dean’s comment that dropping employee coverage would help small businesses, former New York Gov. George Pataki said, “The only way it’s a help is if they drop coverage and their employees would all of a sudden have to go on the exchange, which is what of course the president promised wouldn’t happen.” Most estimates of the healthcare reform bill is that it would cost about $970 billion over 10 years, about half of which would be paid for in new taxes. But that was based on a relatively small amount of employees – something like 7 percent, according to Congressional Budget Office estimates – being moved off their employer-provided coverage and into the exchange pools. But with millions more employees likely to wind up in the exchange, that is liable to add nearly $1 trillion more to the cost of “reform.” Wasn’t Obamacare supposed to reduce costs?
