Citizens for Health launches initiative to fight Corn Refiners Association fraudulent HFCS campaign

(NaturalNews) The Corn Refiners Association (CRA) has been busy the past few years trying to salvage the reputation of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), a heavily-processed chemical sweetener derived from corn starch that a growing number of Americans are now seeking to avoid for health reasons. The industry’s latest marketing stunt involves renaming HFCS to “corn sugar” in order to make the additive sound healthier and more appealing to the public. Many NaturalNews readers will recall CRA’s ridiculous television ad campaign alleging that HFCS is the same as “sugar,” and that consuming it is safe in moderation. Well, the group has now modified the campaign to refer to HFCS as “corn sugar,” and is petitioning the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to grant approval for this deceitful name change. The FDA has not yet made a decision on the matter, but that has not stopped CRA from already using the term “corn sugar” in various marketing materials. In fact, some companies have already begun using the term on ingredient labels, which is a violation of the FDA’s policies concerning false and misleading product labeling. To combat CRA’s assault against truth in labeling, Citizens for Health (CFH), a consumer advocacy group, has launched a campaign called Food Identity Theft to rally its 100,000 subscribers and others to contact the FDA and urge a rejection of CRA’s “corn sugar” petition. CFH says the scheme is misleading and will trick many Americans into thinking that corn sugar is somehow different from HFCS. “Millions of Americans are choosing to avoid products that contain HFCS. But many don’t know the corporations that make it want to change the name high-fructose corn syrup to corn sugar,” said James Gormley, CFH’s vice president and senior policy advisor. “If the FDA were to allow this, we’d never know if it’s in the foods we’re feeding our families.” Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) also recently sent a letter to FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg asking her to deny CRA’s proposal on the basis that it will confuse and mislead customers. HFCS is not “sugar,” by definition, but rather a chemical concoction that has a sweet flavor. It is processed differently in the body than refined sugar derived from sugar beets or sugar cane. And numerous studies have linked HFCS to obesity, diabetes, liver damage, and various other health problems (http://www.naturalnews.com/029403_high_fructose_corn_syrup_liver_damage.html). Meet your new Federal Family (and don’t use the word "government" please) (satire)

(NaturalNews) As the reputation of the U.S. government is now in shambles, the feds are turning to the same bait-and-switch tactics used by the Corn Refiners Association as they tried to rename High Fructose Corn Syrup to the more innocent sounding “corn sugar.” The federal government no longer wants to be called a “government” at all. Instead, you’re supposed to refer to them as your “federal family.” Seriously. This is the word from FEMA, which announced last week, “Under the direction of President Obama and Secretary Janet Napolitano, the entire federal family is leaning forward to support our state, tribal and territorial partners along the East Coast.” Family? Really? Sort of like an organized crime family , perhaps? Let’s take a look at this family, shall we? Note: This article is obviously satire. All photos used herein are presented under Fair Use for the purpose of public commentary and satire. Father Obama First there’s Father Obama. He runs the family’s finances, and that’s why the entire family is irreversibly bankrupt and forever on the verge of being evicted from their home which is about to be repossessed by the bank. Father Obama sounds like he knows what he’s talking about, but he’s actually completely clueless. Every time he mandates that the family do something, the outcome is disastrous. One time he ordered everybody in the family to buy all their own health insurance, threatening to take away their allowance money if they didn’t. Another time, he launched bottle rockets at the neighbor’s house on July 4th, setting their roof on fire and burning their house to the ground. It turned out he was trying to get the local kids hired as part of the house reconstruction team and claimed to be engaged in “creating jobs” for the neighborhood. Big Sis Janet Napolitano Don’t wrestle with your big sis Janet. She’s got the skin of a mutant rhinoceros and the face of a Roman battering ram. She’s the “muscle” of the criminal family, complete with bad breath and everything. When you come home late on a Friday night, she insists on searching your pockets for weed, then interrogating you on where you’ve been and why you think you have the right to travel at all. She’s also big on surveillance, so she runs a series of secret nanny cams throughout your house to gather evidence on you and tattle to your parents. She keeps a secret database of all your violations and threatens to use them against you to get what she wants, which just happens to be personally conducting “enhanced pat-downs” on other women. When she’s not busy spying on her siblings, Big Sis Janet is hanging out behind the local bowling alley, selling the weed she confiscated from her brother to raise money to support her S&M fetish. She wields a baseball bat and carries a set of brass knuckles to remind the locals who’s in charge. Uncle Ben Bernanke Uncle Ben Bernanke is the dodgy white collar criminal of the family who runs an illicit printing press in the basement, cranking out counterfeit hundred dollar bills and hoping he won’t get caught by the U.S. Treasury Department. When he’s not printing counterfeit money, he’s running financial scams on little old ladies by selling them derivates, or purchasing mail order goods with counterfeit money orders and cashier’s checks. Like any con man, he’s clean-cut and sounds intelligent, but behind the scenes, he’s always running “get rich quick” schemes that only end up stealing money from people. Even though his ideas never work, he always thinks he’s smarter than everyone else, and he struts around the house with an attitude of total arrogance, screaming about how he’s going to “save the world!” The rest of the family members just scowl and him and scream in return, “Grow some hair where it counts!” “Crazy” Grandpa Harry Reid Harry Reid (US Senate Majority Leader) is that grumpy old grandpa of the family who still thinks he’s running the household but has long since been labeled “demented” by the rest of the family. His ideas about the world are universally wrong, but he can’t stop blabbing at the family dinner table about how brilliant he is and how the whole family would be better off if everyone would just listen to him. Grandpa Harry also has an integrity problem. He once convinced the family members to all pitch in and hire a neighbor kid to mow the lawn, but it later turned out Grandpa was getting a kickback equal to 25% of the kid’s wages, then using that money to buy vodka. He also went racist on everyone and insisted that the family hire no “negroes” to do the mowing, unless they were “light skinned” and spoke with “no Negro dialect.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Reid#Criticism) “Mommy” Margaret Hamburg Margaret Hamburg (current head of the FDA) is the psychopathic, medication-addicted mother of the household. She’s a total hypochondriac who keeps trying to put all the kids on psychiatric medications, and she hoards pain pills in her own medicine cabinet then gobbles a handful when life just gets to be too much. She starts up an argument any time Father Obama brings home vitamins or herbs, claiming that “vitamins are deadly” and that the family needs to receive annual vaccination shots to avoid colds and the flu. She suffers from migraine headaches herself, though, and every time she experiences one, she runs around the house screaming about how she wants to leave this world “and take the children with me, dammit!” Predictably, the family gets sick every year during the flu season, during which “Mommy” Margaret goes crazy blaming everybody else for “not taking their prescribed antibiotics!” The rest of the family has pretty much decided that Margaret is mentally deranged and they are seriously considering asking a court judge to declare her incompetent. Cousin “Good ol’ boy” Tom Vilsack Cousin Tom is a corn-fed, barbeque-eating country boy from Iowa. He seems okay on the outside, but his prostate is the size of a Fukushima-mutated canteloupe because he’s been dining on genetically engineered corn and sucking down hormone-injected beef products for too many years. As suspected, Cousin Tom is becoming a mutant. One time at Thanksgiving, Father Obama told a joke about the economy that made Cousin Tom laugh so hard, he coughed up his own scrotum. He’s also growing a sixth finger on his right hand and a curious appendage from his tailbone that seems to wag when you laugh at it… which happens a lot when Cousin Tom starts talking about how his “genius” ideas are helping so many people (http://www.cagw.org/newsroom/porker-of-the-month/). On the science front, Tom is currently overseeing a small patch of “experimental lawn grass” in the back yard, using seeds he got from Monsanto. That patch of grass has grown to five times its normal size, and small animals recently began disappearing when they wandered nearby. The family dog has gone missing, too, but Cousin Tom seems excited about the new GMO grass and plans to expand the plot to cover the entire perimeter of the house where it can function as “security grass,” he says, with the added benefit that it will “eat intruders.” Gotta love Monsanto technology, eh? Don’t you love your new Federal Family? Your new “Federal Family” isn’t the only family we all know about, is it? There are other famous families in U.S. history that might also right a bell, such as: The Chicago mob boss crime syndicate family. This was a group of families, actually, who surged into power during the era of Prohibition and made money off the fact that alcohol was illegal. The scheme failed to stop alcohol and only made violent crime war worse, so the federal government decided to end prohibition. At about the same time, it enacted prohibition-style laws that outlawed marijuana, and it then began trafficking all the illegal drugs itself, taking over as the “Federal Family” of drug trafficking. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIA_drug_trafficking) The difference between the mafia crime families and the government “Federal Family” is that at least the mafia knows it’s stealing from you. The federal government, on the other hand, claims YOUR money is automatically THEIRS! That’s why they steal a little bit out of every paycheck you earn and then promise to send you checks for your retirement someday… but behind the scenes, they’ve already spent your retirement money on their own bloated salaries and pet pork projects. The federal family, it turns out, steals from you just like real family … but without the annual picnic and mandatory wedding attendances.
Murdoch’s media malpractice and the genetic altering of human beings through DNA vaccines

(NaturalNews) Rupert Murdoch’s media empire News Corp., which represents the second largest media conglomerate in the world behind the Walt Disney Company, is taking a severe beating as Murdoch himself is having to address various criminal allegations, including that his News of the World tabloid illegally hacked private phone lines and committed various other crimes (http://www.naturalnews.com/033034_News_of_the_World_scandal.html). But Murdoch’s media malpractice runs even deeper as his strong connections to the pharmaceutical industry also fueled his media machine’s fabrication of lies against Dr. Andrew Wakefield, as well as hid from the public the true dangers of DNA vaccines that permanently corrupt human genes and cause autism. Murdoch has built quite a reputation for himself as a scoundrel of sorts, as many Americans who identify with the “left” side of the political spectrum have accused him of pandering to the “right” by skewing the news to appeal to “conservatives” (Murdoch owns FOX News, after all). But what Murdoch’s organization is actually doing on all fronts with its various media outlets, including FOX, is pushing much bigger agendas that supersede any alleged “right vs. left” paradigm. One such agenda is News Corp.’s routine censorship of the dangerous truth about drugs and vaccines, which include smear campaigns like those levied against Dr. Wakefield who conduct legitimate research that contradicts mainstream medical thought. News Corp. systematically destroyed the reputation of Dr. Wakefield, lied about his work If you are unfamiliar with the Dr. Wakefield story, you can read more about it in previous NaturalNews articles (http://www.naturalnews.com/Andrew_Wakefield.html). But as a quick recap, Dr. Wakefield basically discovered through credible research that the combination measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine was linked to mental and physiological health problems, and that the individual measles vaccine should be given to children instead until further research on the safety of MMR could be conducted. The findings were credible, responsibly-derived, and honest in their assessment — but they resulted in a tirade of lies and slander against Dr. Wakefield. The statements included false accusations that he is opposed to all vaccinations, that he had manipulated his data, and that he is basically unfit to be a doctor, despite the fact that he is arguably one of the most well-respected and highly-educated gastroenterologists in the world. In the end, though, Dr. Wakefield ended up having his study pulled from the esteemed UK journal Lancet , and his UK medical license was revoked. And just who was responsible for the annihilation campaign against Dr. Wakefield? None other than Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., which literally fabricated lies about Dr. Wakefield and disseminated them around the world via its multinational media network. News Corp.’s London Times , for instance, falsely accused Dr. Wakefield of being “callous, unethical and dishonest,” and published numerous articles saying he was a fraud, and that he “abused his position of trust.” And why, exactly, did News Corp. feel the need to destroy the life and reputation of a man that had done so much to help children with autism and other neurological disorders? Because Dr. Wakefield’s findings were incongruent with the multi-billion-dollar profit ring of multinational pharmaceutical companies like GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Merck Inc., both of which produce and market MMR vaccines. Murdoch media empire, judicial system closely knit with drug companies Did you know that Rupert Murdoch’s son James Murdoch, who manages the UK paper Sunday Times , is on the board of GSK? Or how about Sir Nigel Davis, the High Court judge that denied parents of children treated by Dr. Wakefield the right to have their claims against vaccine manufacturers heard in a real court? Davis’ brother, who is an executive board member of Elsevier, the group that publishes the Lancet , is also on the board of GSK. An article in the COTO Report also explains that the head of the popular Reuters news service serves on the board of Merck, while a prominent writer at the UK’s Daily Mirror is married to the former chairman of GSK. And the list goes on and on. With all of these strong connections to drug companies, it is no wonder that the media at large wholly participated in the Dr. Wakefield slander campaign — after all, Dr. Wakefield’s work caused millions of people to wake up and begin questioning the safety not only of the MMR vaccine, but also of vaccines in general. And this continued awakening is taking its toll on Big Pharma’s profits. MMR and dozens of other DNA’ vaccines essentially create genetically-modified humans Dr. Wakefield’s work uncovered a crucial detail about certain vaccines that ultimately exposes those in this particular category as highly-dangerous, life-altering poisons. Third-generation DNA vaccines like MMR contain genetically-engineered (GE) materials that are injected directly into the body, sort of like how genetically-modified (GM) crop seeds have been injected with altered DNA that changes their genetic makeup — and these GE traits can permanently alter proper human development. As far as DNA vaccines are concerned, the GE material they contain is included as part of an overall effort to induce “DNA uptake,” a term that is very vaguely defined, but one that appears to infer a literal adoption of altered DNA into the human genetic structure. If this is the case, then DNA vaccines like MMR are overriding normal DNA with altered DNA, which causes the untold changes in human development and health that have been observed. Based on Dr. Wakefield’s findings, this is exactly what appears to occur with MMR vaccines in particular, and it is why he urged the public to skip the MMR vaccine and get the individual vaccines instead. His findings showed that the MMR vaccine is linked to mitochondria dysfunction caused by DNA mutations. And since no proper review of MMR has ever taken place to prove its safety, his professional conclusion was that it was best to stop using it for childrens safety. Mitochondria, of course, are what power cells and convert energy into forms that are usable by the body. When these do not work properly, the entire human body becomes compromised. Individuals with autism demonstrate mitochondria dysfunction as well as various other problems, which may or may not be possible to cure — and this, again, is precisely why Dr. Wakefield urged the public to beware of the MMR vaccine. According to the same COTO Report article mentioned earlier, DNA vaccines like MMR were actually derived from failed gene therapy experiments. In other words, they appear to be a type of genetic experiment that is permanently altering human gene expression and proper DNA development, which in turn lands its victims with permanent, life-altering developmental disorders like autism. But none of this will ever be addressed by the likes of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., or by most other mainstream news outlets for that matter, because of their close alliance with the drug industry. It is in their best interests to hide the truth from the public, and to continue pushing the lie that all vaccines are safe, and have never been implicated in causing any long-term health problems. CBS News, however, did recently report on a new review published in the Journal of Immunotoxicology that addresses the issue of third-generation DNA vaccines and autism. That review, entitled Theoretical aspects of autism: Causes — A review , admits that “[d]ocumented causes of autism include genetic mutations and/or deletions, viral infections, and encephalitis [brain damage] following vaccination.” Sources for this story include: http://coto2.wordpress.com/2011/07/17/murdoch-and-vaccines-exposure-of-murdochs-crimes-expose-a-much-larger-story/
TEPCO now confirms nuclear meltdown in Fukushima reactor No. 1

(NaturalNews) TEPCO has now publicly admitted it wasn’t telling the truth about the severity of the damage to Fukushima reactor No. 1. We’re now being told what we’ve suspected all along — that nuclear fuel rods in that reactor are totally exposed and have suffered a nuclear meltdown , releasing vast amounts of radiation comparable to Chernobyl. As Bloomberg now reports, the water level in reactor No. 4 is one meter below the fuel assembly itself. This means, of course, that the water isn’t high enough to cover the fuel rods, which is why those fuel rods have suffered a nuclear meltdown. (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-05-12/japan-suffers-setback-at-fukushima-after-no-1-reactor-s-fuel-rods-exposed.html) The Associated Press is also reporting that “other fuel has slumped to the bottom of the pressure vessel and is thought to be covered in water.” This statement is astonishing all by itself because it means the fuel rods were in a total meltdown hot enough to cause their metal containment cylinders to “slump” and melt their way down to the lower levels of the coolant pools. Notably, AP carefully avoids using the term “melt” and instead says the fuel rods “slumped.” This is all part of the AP’s determined downplaying of the Fukushima catastrophe (see below). Not surprisingly, as AP now reports, “The findings also indicate a greater-than-expected leak in that vessel.” But the laws of nuclear physics don’t care what you “expect,” you see. They don’t care about media spin or power company B.S. The laws of physics simply follow their natural course, regardless of what you hope they do. And in the case of Fukushima, the laws of physics led directly to a core fuel meltdown that now even the mainstream media cannot deny (although they still aren’t calling it a “nuclear meltdown”). As AP reports: Nuclear Industrial and Safety Agency officials said the new data indicates that it is likely that partially melted fuel had fallen to the bottom of the pressurized vessel that holds the reactor core together and possibly leached down into the drywell soon after the March 11 quake and tsunami that struck Japan’s northeastern coast. Undeniable meltdown What AP is describing, of course, is a nuclear meltdown . It doesn’t get any more obvious than this: The fuel reached melting temperature and melted down. Along with this, there would have had to be a massive release of radiation into the containment vessel, which just happens to have numerous holes in it that allow highly radioactive water to leak directly into the environment. No wonder TEPCO discovered its radiation detectors had all maxed out there and become non-functional. No wonder TEPCO had to selectively stop reporting radiation releases — it was in the middle of a Chernobyl-like core fuel meltdown! The Telegraph in the UK is refreshingly printing the truth on this story: “One of the reactors at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi power plant did suffer a nuclear meltdown, Japanese officials admitted for the first time today, describing a pool of molten fuel at the bottom of the reactor’s containment vessel.” (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/japan/8509502/Nuclear-meltdown-at-Fukushima-plant.html) But the mainstream media in the U.S. has obviously been instructed by the White House to avoid using the term “nuclear meltdown” in describing what happened at Fukushima. There is a rather blatant downplaying of the facts going on behind the scenes at the media giants. Some of this spin can only be called blatant lies, by the way. In the same story linked above, AP claims “Unit 4 contained no fuel rods at the time of the earthquake…” Huh? No fuel rods in reactor No. 4? This what on Earth is this video showing? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKHWbgsLegw I love how the media admits it has been misreporting the truth of the situation all along, and then it comes up with new fairytale spin stories in practically the same sentence. They might as well just report, “There was no nuclear fuel in Fukushima at the time of the tsunami, and that’s why governments have stopped monitoring radiation levels.” TEPCO once again meets Murphy’s Law In any case, this sudden revelation that reactor No. 4 has already experienced a nuclear fuel meltdown is, not surprisingly, causing considerable setbacks to TEPCO’s plan to have the whole facility deactivated by Christmas. Just as NaturalNews publicly predicted, the Christmas shutdown plan was little more than a combination of fantasyland thinking and industry spin. “What this means is this is probably going to be a much more difficult cleanup than they originally planned for,” said particle physicist Paul Padley in a Bloomberg story (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-05-12/japan-suffers-setback-at-fukushima-after-no-1-reactor-s-fuel-rods-exposed.html). The government and Tepco “have consistently appeared to be underestimating the severity of the situation.” And that’s the story of modern science: Arrogant in its confidence over the laws of nature, yet utterly dishonest in reporting the truth when its Tower of Babel crumbles to the ground. No wonder the reputation of the conventional scientific community continues to plummet as people realize just how dangerous these people really are. Read my related story on this to learn the truth of how modern conventional science is based on a mindless, soulless, false belief that human beings have no free will or consciousness. And therefore, human beings are all expendable in science’s big experiments: Nuclear power, GMOs, vaccines and much more: http://www.naturalnews.com/032372_science_consciousness.html Sources for this story include: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/AS_JAPAN_EARTHQUAKE?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2011-05-12-08-28-30 http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-05-12/japan-suffers-setback-at-fukushima-after-no-1-reactor-s-fuel-rods-exposed.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/japan/8509502/Nuclear-meltdown-at-Fukushima-plant.html
EU successfully undermines Ireland as a GMO-free zone

(NaturalNews) Weston A Price Foundation, a nutrition education non-profit, highly recommends butter as a healthy food, particularly grass fed, raw butter, which is hard to come by in America. Because of the lack of availability of locally produced artisan butter, many of our members (and those they have influenced) buy imported butter from countries like Ireland, which have high standards for animal husbandry. My own mother has been buying Kerrygold ever since I sung the nutritional praises of grassfed butter! Until recently the Irish government was in coalition with the Green Party, and there was a policy to declare the republic of Ireland a GMO-free zone. However, in February 2011, the Irish Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Brendan Smith: “confirmed that Ireland has altered its voting position and will support a number of proposals from the EU Commission aimed at authorizing the placing on the market of food, food ingredients and feed containing, consisting of, or produced from genetically modified maize and cotton. Ireland will also support EU Commission proposals to introduce a tolerance for the low level presence of, as yet, unauthorized GM varieties in imports of animal feed.” I weep for Ireland, for both my husband and I are of Irish descent, and I have relatives there who are farmers. But the German side of me wants to fight for Ireland’s purity from GM crops and the pesticide pollution that inevitably follows. I have seen the lush rolling hills and small farms that will be ripped up to put in large monocropping operations. Please read Sir Julian Rose’s article, The Battle to Save the Polish Countryside , which describes what happened in the UK when they joined the EU: “…the ripping up of 35,000 miles of hedge rows; the loss of 30 percent of native farmland bird species, 98 percent of species-rich hay meadows, thousands of tons of wind- and water-eroded top-soil; and the loss from the land of around fifteen thousand farmers every year, accompanied by a rapid decline in the quality of food.” Ireland urgently needs international help to put pressure on the government to reverse this stance. Irish products such as Kerrygold butter are marketed in America and elsewhere as being natural and grass-fed. However, thanks to there being no legal requirement to declare the use of GM animal feed, it is being widely reported that an increasing percentage of animal feed in Ireland comes from GMO sources, and I think Weston Price consumers will be shocked to learn has no stance on GMOs . Until now, I’m sure it wasn’t thought necessary. What You Can Do Contact Kerrygold/The Irish Dairy Board, and the Irish Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food; to let them know that the reputation of exported Irish foods is under threat by the recent pro-GM stance, in particular with the Irish-American community (which is of massive importance to the Irish economy). Let them know that they will be risking international boycott if they do not take the necessary action to keep Ireland and its food chain GMO free. The age-old struggle against vaccination: A rebuttal by Jennifer Craig, PhD; Suzanne Humphries, MD; and Sherri Tenpenny, DO

(NaturalNews) In the January 13, 2011 the New England Journal of Medicine ( NEJM ), slipped away from its historically solid scientific moorings with the printing of “The Age-Old Struggle against the anti-vaccinationists,” by Poland and Jacobson. This reply is limited to just a few points; with so much misinformation in their article, it is not possible to address it all in one rebuttal. The idea that one disease, (cowpox) could prevent infection by another disease, (smallpox) was a rumor amongst dairymaids. Veterinarians and country physicians of the time knew the rumor was not true and it could easily have been disproved by simply asking patients with smallpox if they had had cowpox. But Jenner, although informed otherwise, was unwilling to believe the idea was false. He went ahead to test the theory on a single subject by spreading pus from cowpox sores into cuts he made in the arms of an eight-year old boy. The boy not only became ill, he developed ulcers on his arms that took months to heal. A few weeks later, he spread smallpox pus into more cuts. The boy did not get smallpox and thus the idea of smallpox vaccination was born. Poland and Jacobson’s first salvo, “In the 19th century, despite clear evidence of benefit, routine inoculation with cowpox to protect people against smallpox was hindered by a burgeoning anti-vaccination movement,” is simply not true. Apart from the obvious question of why most people did not accept this new treatment until citizens were forced into vaccination by the 1853 Compulsory Vaccination Act, the authors present nothing to back up their claim of “clear evidence” or any references to support their allegations. The most likely reason for this omission is there was no clear evidence of benefit – nor is there any clear benefit today. An 1888 report by Dr. William Farr, Compiler of Statistics of the Registrar General of London and the physician who is responsible for setting up the vital statistics we use today, stated the following: “Smallpox attained its maximum mortality after vaccination was introduced. The mean annual mortality per 10,000 population from 1850 to 1869 was at the rate of 2.04, whereas after compulsory vaccination in 1871, the death rate was 10.24. In 1872 the death rate was 8.33 and this was after the most laudable efforts to extend vaccination by legislative enactments.” Vital statistics and public records reveal a different story than the dogma of “clear evidence of benefit” propagated by the vaccinators. Mortality figures kept by Dr. Walter Hadwen in England from 1872 to 1921, including the vaccination rate per 100 births, show that as the vaccination rate went down, so did the death rate from smallpox. But Hadwen, like all who oppose vaccination, is accused by Poland and Jacobsen here and in their previous paper, of having “low cognitive complexity in thinking patterns and reasoning flaws.” With those deficits, we wonder how Walter Hadwen, J.P., M.D., L.R.C.P., M.R.C.S., L.S.A., accumulated all those credentials. Vaccine pushers assume they can negate their opponents simply by calling them names and treating them as if they are stupid. In addition to Hadwen, two other nineteenth century physicians who opposed vaccination would no doubt have been labeled by Poland and Jacobson as having “low cognitive complexity.” Dr. Charles Creighton, author of Jenner and Vaccination: a Strange Chapter of Medical History , and E.M. Crookshank, author of History and Pathology of Vaccination , and Professor of Comparative Pathology in King’s College, London, were anything but cognitively impaired. They provided data that prove, even in an era rife with smallpox, vaccination did not protect people from infection. The first smallpox vaccine consisted of pus squeezed from pustules deliberately made on the belly of a calf. The discharge, which contained hair, bacteria and other contaminants, was mixed with glycerin before being injected into patients. While this may seem repulsive, today’s vaccines are not much better. In addition to toxic ingredients, vaccines include stray viruses that can mutate, combine with human viruses and incorporate into human DNA. The new combinations have been identified in vaccines and have been injected into infants, children and adults. Cancerous cells, called immortal cells, are used to incubate the viruses grown for vaccines. The FDA has published concerns regarding carcinogenicity of designer cell substrates and stray viruses found in the shots. Regarding the article’s allegation that the anti-vaccine movement is responsible for the resurgence of disease, it has been well documented that recent outbreaks of mumps, measles and pertussis occurred in populations who were highly vaccinated. In some instances, the vaccination rate was up to 87 percent. There are numerous reports of an attenuated virus mutating to become virulent again. Recently, vaccine-strain rotavirus infected an unvaccinated sibling, causing active disease. Thus, public protection today does not come from vaccination any more than it did in 1870. Poland and Jacobson may not know that the famous playwright, George Bernard Shaw, was also interested in infectious diseases. In a letter dated July 19, 1931 to Dr. Charles Pabst, Shaw wrote: “I was vaccinated in infancy and had ‘good marks’ of it. In the great epidemic of 1881 (I was born in 1856) I caught smallpox. During the last considerable epidemic at the turn of the century, I was a member of the Health Committee of London Borough Council, and I learned how support for vaccination is kept up statistically by diagnosing all the vaccinated cases as pustular eczema, varioloid, or what-not, except smallpox. I discovered a suppressed report of the Metropolitan Asylums Board on a set of re-vaccinations which had produced extraordinarily disastrous results. Meanwhile, I had studied the literature and statistics of the subject. I even induced a celebrated bacteriologist to read Jenner. I have no doubt that vaccination is an unscientific abomination and should be made a criminal practice.” Durbach wrote that the opposition to vaccination and the resultant disparaging by conventional pro-vaccinators has been long standing. With the passage of the first compulsory vaccination law in the U.K. in 1853, the first anti-vaccination societies became a national movement by the 1860s. By the 1870s, the Anti-Compulsory Vaccination League (ACVL) had 103 branches and up to 200,000 members and sympathizers in Britain alone. Many became actively involved when their child was injured or killed by a smallpox vaccine. The present-day anti-vaccination movement is no different. Today, thousands of parents and an increasing number of doctors, scientists and health care workers who have observed firsthand the degradation of health in patients and family members by the blind faith doctors have in government mandates are speaking and refusing vaccination. Today, many physicians who are “anti-vaccinationists” started out vaccinating. As they observed with an open mind the reactions in their patients and their own children, their enthusiasm for vaccines was tempered. They observed those who were less vaccinated thrived and enjoyed far more vitality than those who were fully vaccinated. They vaccinated less and less, despite being pushed, year after year, with ACIP recommendations and the usual fear-mongering around infectious diseases. The NEJM has long enjoyed the reputation as a respected, peer-reviewed medical journal. However, peer review today disallows a balanced discussion on heated topics, forcing intelligent debate about vaccines onto the internet. Anti-vaccination arguments are subject to censorship by medical journals and often suppressed by the mainstream media. Officials rationalize this as appropriate to “protect public health.” However, sustained suppression of opinions contrary to official party lines has historically led to revolt. Millions of people are waking up to the disinformation about vaccines, unwaveringly maintained by the medical profession and the government. Those who have a studied opinion and have observed first-hand, the truth about the devastating consequences of vaccination will refuse to be censored. Cornucopia Institute pushes USDA to crack down on organic labeling confusion

(NaturalNews) When Dean Foods, owner of the Silk soy milk brand, quietly changed its core product line from organic to conventional in 2009, it did so without also changing its UPC or product labeling, which confused customers and retailers, some for many months. This and several other cases of organic confusion have spurred the Cornucopia Institute (CI), a Wisconsin-based food and farm policy group, to petition the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) to update its organic requirements in order to preserve the integrity of the organic name. Readers may also be familiar with Peace Cereal, a granola and cereal brand that three years ago also quietly dropped its organic status. Just like Dean Foods, Peace did not notify its retailers or customers about the change, and kept the same UPCs for its products. So for months, and even years, some retailers continued to mistakenly label and sell the products as organic because they failed to observe the change as the products basically appeared the same. Such confusion, if left unchecked, is likely to hurt the reputation of the entire organic industry as consumers may begin to question the legitimacy of organic labeling. So CI has filed a formal request asking the Secretary of Agriculture to require that both UPCs and product labeling be changed when a product is downgraded from organic to conventional, and also that formal notifications be sent to distributors, retailers, and customers to make them aware of the change. “Any change in organic status requires new labels and packaging, since the USDA strictly regulates the use of the term ‘organic’ on food packages,” stated Charlotte Vallaeys, a Farm and Food Policy Analyst with CI. “We believe that a change in the barcode is a simple step that every manufacturer should be obligated to take to ensure that all distributors and retailers are aware that the product has changed.” Customers are also urged to carefully inspect all products labeled organic on store shelves to ensure that they bear an official seal of organic certification on their packaging. Even if packaging looks the same or similar to what it was before, if it does not contain the official USDA organic seal, then it is no longer organic. Dr Wakefield demands retraction from BMJ after documents prove innocence from allegations of vaccine autism data fraud

(NaturalNews) In light of new evidence that has emerged clearing Dr Wakefield of the allegations that he fabricated study data involving MMR vaccines and symptoms of autism, Dr Wakefield is now publicly demanding a retraction from the British Medical Journal and author Brian Deer. Documents just made public reveal that another medical research team which included a senior pathologist independently documented evidence of a possible MMR vaccine – autism link 14 months before Dr Wakefield’s paper first appears in The Lancet — based on several of the same children appearing in Dr Wakefield’s study. (http://www.naturalnews.com/031116_Dr_Andrew_Wakefield_British_Medical_Journal.html) These documents include detailed clinical notes describing the pathology in seven children following MMR vaccination. These notes include references to “autism” and chronic gastrointestinal inflammation, among others. This evidence, which was just made public, refutes the accusations of fraud leveled against Dr Andrew Wakefield by the British Medical Journal and reporter Brian Deer. This evidence was made available to the BMJ before the publication of their accusations, but they chose to ignore it. Dr Wakefield, in essence, has been falsely accused by the BMJ in what is now being widely recognized as a political witch hunt against the most visible researcher questioning the safety of MMR vaccines . BMJ caught in highly politicized scientific fraud The BMJ, in essence, has been caught pulling off what may be the largest scientific fraud ever perpetrated by any medical journal in the history of the world. It grossly misrepresented the facts in falsely accusing Dr Wakefield of fabricating the clinical trial data that led to his landmark study being published in The Lancet in 1998. The innocence of Dr Wakefield has now been established by these newly-released documents. The British Medical Journal also failed to disclose that its own finances are largely funded by vaccine manufacturers who fill the journal with paid advertising, and that such financial ties may have influenced the journal’s decision to attempt to destroy the reputation of a researcher whose findings threatened the profits of its top sponsors. If you follow the money in this story, in other words, it leads right to the editors of BMJ, whose salaries are effectively financed by vaccine manufacturers. This all-important conflict of interest is almost never discussed in the mainstream media, by the way. In light of the evidence that has now been made public, clearing Dr Andrew Wakefield of any wrongdoing, Dr Wakefield is publicly demanding that the BMJ issue a full retraction of its Brian Deer article accusing Dr Wakefield of fabricating the data. His statement is entitled, “Uncovered Documents Prove There Was No Fraud in Lancet Case Series” and is included here in its entirety: STATEMENT BY DR. ANDREW WAKEFIELD Uncovered Documents Prove There Was No Fraud in Lancet Case Series British Medical Journal and Sunday Times author Brian Deer misrepresent facts in latest articles wrongly accusing Dr. Wakefield of altering clinical histories of autistic children In a series of articles published in the UK Sunday Times and the British Medical Journal (BMJ), written by freelance journalist Brian Deer and BMJ editor Dr. Fiona Godlee (1), I am accused of altering the clinical histories and test results in autistic children in order to manufacture a novel disease , a disease described in The Lancet in 1998 that Brian Deer claims does not exist. I have documents that confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that I did not falsify this data; that the finding of bowel disease in these children is real; and that these findings were accurately reported in The Lancet in 1998. The first document (2) describes 7 of The Lancet children and was written by Professor John Walker-Smith in December 1996, 14 months before The Lancet paper was published. Professor Walker-Smith prepared this document in an exercise that, in his words, “was totally unrelated to Andy Wakefield” (3). The document was a report prepared for a scientific meeting, and was based upon Professor Walker-Smith’s own independent assessment of the children’s condition. He was assisted by a senior pathologist and an expert in bowel disease, Dr. Dhillon, who reported on the microscopic findings in the children’s intestinal tissues. This independent analysis was conducted to a high level of scientific rigor, and are the precise findings reported in The Lancet. These documents, including Professor Walker-Smith’s report; the transcript of his sworn testimony before the UK medical regulator (2), the General Medical Council (GMC), and the relevant sections of the statement of Dr. Dhillon to the GMC3; were available to Deer and the editors of the BMJ well in advance of their recent publication. (4) They knew, or should have known, that their allegations against me were false. It is clear that the BMJ acted recklessly by failing to check these facts adequately before making their false allegations. On the basis of this evidence, the British Medical Journal must retract these articles, or face the consequences. A new measure of intelligence: Big-picture thinking trumps narrow-minded expertise

(NaturalNews) Observing the various realms of science, medicine, experts and world events, I’ve come to the conclusion that our modern definition of “intelligence” (IQ) is seriously lacking. The label of “high IQ” is typically assigned to those who are experts in narrowly-defined fields such as disease pathology, pharmacology, particle physics, mathematics or other so-called “hard science” areas. And yet, it’s not uncommon to see a high-level mathematics professor with an IQ of 175 chowing down on a processed hamburger laced with toxic chemical additives, while wearing clothes washed in carcinogenic mainstream laundry detergent. The professor may be brilliant in mathematics, in other words, but he’s unknowingly bathing his entire body in cancer-causing chemicals at the same time. Not too bright. Similarly, a typical conventional doctor thinks he knows about health, but he buys breakfast cereals made with genetically modified corn and doesn’t even know that GMOs are bad for your health. A quantum physics professor wears antiperspirant deodorant and cologne products that contain powerful cancer-causing chemicals that are absorbed right through the skin. A pharmacist who is an expert in the world of drugs and synthetic chemicals has no clue that the common mineral zinc is crucial for proper immune function. Highly-intelligent architects for some reason don’t question the collapse of the WTC 7 building on 9/11 even though the official explanation of the collapse violates the laws of physics (a subject in which architects are well-versed). Chemists don’t consider the chemistry of the toxic shampoos they put on their hair every day. Nor do many scientists think realistically about the toxicity of mercury fillings or the fluorosilicic acid (“fluoride”) dumped into the public water supply. I could go on… The point of all this is that there exists a huge gap in practical intelligence among the so-called “smartest” people in our society . I’ve spoken with countless doctors and conventional health care providers who are brilliant in their own fields and yet don’t even know the basics of nutrition. So how can it be that a guy is so smart he can be the world’s best brain surgeon, but when he goes home at night, he bathes his own brain and body in a sea of toxic chemicals consumed as additives in his processed food dinner? Most people can’t assimilate the big picture What’s lacking in these so-called “smart” people is the ability to see the bigger picture by assimilating information from a large number of seemingly unrelated sources. Or, stated in another way, even some of the most high-IQ people around can’t see the big picture because they get lost in the details. Your typical oncologist, for example, almost certainly can’t hold an intelligent conversation about nutritional therapies to support immune function because he only thinks of antioxidants as “interfering” with the toxicity of his cancer poisons. Likewise, a typical virologist persistently looks at viruses as the cause of disease but forgets that viruses are opportunists which can only propagate when the terrain is sufficiently vulnerable. Thus, the best defense against invading microorganism is to change the terrain (the person being infected) rather than to try to rid the immediate area of all viruses. Memorization is not intelligence See, the very concept of “intelligence” in our society is way off the mark. It isn’t intelligent to be able to memorize and regurgitate a huge number of facts and figures, yet this is precisely the measure of academic aptitude assessed in modern educational systems — especially in law school and medical school. To function as a crude human database of facts and figures is not very useful in an age where handheld computers and mobile computing devices can do the same thing. But what computers and search engines can’t accomplish — something that is uniquely reserved for intelligent species — is the ability to assimilate information into a larger picture. It is, in other words, the ability to “connect the dots” and see patterns and trends in what might seem like chaos to others. My favorite physicist Richard Feynman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Feynman) was an especially gifted pattern assimilator . He was able to look far beyond the conventional boundaries of particle physics and grasp many of the non-intuitive interconnections between matter, energy and the nature of reality itself. On a more practical level, people like Gerald Celente and even Alex Jones are also phenomenally gifted pattern assimilators. It’s not that they are ridiculously good at remembering a lot of facts and figures in one very narrow area of science or knowledge; rather it’s the fact that these types of people are able to see patterns in world events and thereby interact with the world around them at a far higher level of understanding than most other people. Whereas a typical journalist sees a headline that says, “GMO restrictions called unscientific” and thinks it’s merely a story about how un-educated GMO opponents are, a more intelligent “pattern assimilator” person sees the same headline and understands the far deeper meaning it holds: That the GMO propaganda campaign is being framed in the language of “science” as a way to label reasonable opponents of GMOs as being somehow uneducated or stupid. But behind the fake science curtain, it’s really just gimmicky marketing and a profit-driven agenda. The pattern behind all that, of course, is the agenda to control the world’s food supply and, soon thereafter, charge monopoly prices for seeds (TM) that farmers used to be able to save for free. A few people are able to see the story behind the story . These people are the “meta-analyzers” of the world around them. They have what I call a “wide angle view” (a big picture view) where they can bring in observational data from a very large data set of observable events in order to infer greater understanding of the world around them. Here are just a few of the many pattern assimilators who are better known: Gerald Celente can see the big picture of world finance. He sees the signs of the slipping value of the dollar, the leveraged debt of world banks, the actions of the Fed, the Wall Street bailouts, the news propaganda from the financial sector, and so on — and from all that, he correctly infers that a global debt bubble is approaching catastrophic collapse. Many of his colleagues, on the other hand, even though they may achieve high scores on an IQ test, are scribbling away with their noses buried in the arcane mathematics of derivatives calculations, and they miss the big picture because their minds are too narrowly focused on a tiny slice of what’s really happening. When the big financial collapse comes, they will be caught with their pants down, holding their pencils in their hands. Author John Perkins is also another big-picture genius, in his own way, for being able to see the patterns of government actions on a global scaled. He’s the author of the popular book “Economic Hit Men” (and also “Hoodwinked”), and he sees patterns in the world that nearly everyone else misses. You can see my interview with Perkins, by the way, at: http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=83B1AF93091799E7CEB88C5C459A530B On the nutrition front, Dr Richard Kunin is one of the most remarkable pattern assimilators you’ll ever find. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Kunin) Here’s a genius the world has largely overlooked. Alex Jones is one of the more astonishing assemblers of patterns out of chaos. His ability to see the underlying patterns behind world events is truly amazing, and whether you agree with his conclusions or not, his mind is able to amass an extraordinarily large amount of data from many sectors (health freedom, police state actions, legislative efforts and so on) and then identify patterns that most other people would miss. You can find Alex on www.PrisonPlanet.com Seeing the bigger picture doesn’t make you any more popular This list is by no means exhaustive. There are many genius-level pattern assimilators in our world. They are rarely recognized for their talents, however. If anything, those who “get” the big picture are often derided or criticized for doing so. Connecting too many dots, it seems, is dangerous for your reputation. Those who have the most success in the sciences (in particular), are the ones who keep their heads down and focus on their own tiny little corner of study without asking any of the really big questions like, “Hey, where did this grant money really come from?” I consider myself something of a pattern assimilator, as I see patterns from one area of knowledge often reflected in another. For example, if our global economy is like a world body, what would fit the definition of a cancer tumor engaged in angiogenesis? The answers is corporations , because corporations hijack their own supply of resources (much like cancer tumors build a new blood supply), then grow to a large and dangerous size at which point they begin to replicate and set up branch offices all over the world where the tumor cycle is repeated. And just like cancer tumors, corporations ultimately threaten the lives of their hosts. As an avid reader and student of human history, psychology and even quantum mechanics, I feel competent to discuss the history of philosophy as much as, say, the modern-day repeating of patterns of tyranny from World War II. The most promising and fascinating area of human discovery about to be achieved, in my opinion, relates to the superposition of quantum physics and human consciousness. This will result in a paradigm-shattering shift in understanding the nature of our reality, with ripple effects that resound throughout our modern world. Once Earth’s people come to realize, for example, that matter is consciousness (and that all consciousness is connected), the implications will require profound rethinking of things such as compassion for animals, religious beliefs and self identity. This is the really exciting stuff that’s headed our way. But we’ll never get to a higher understanding of consciousness if we remain “experts” limited to our tiny alcoves of knowledge. To really function as intelligent members of a race that has been advertised as “advanced,” we must expand not just the depth of our knowledge but the breadth of our understanding. And that, of course, means understanding the interconnectedness of our being-ness. It is the interconnectedness that really matters, quite literally (ahem). Let us hope that more members of the human species can learn to recognize the interconnectedness among not just people, plants and animals, but at another level the interconnectedness of mind, matter and energy, too. To gain understanding of this interconnectedness is — to paraphrase quite a number of scientists and philosophers from human history — to become closer to God. He who can see all interconnectedness in life and the cosmos is, of course, God Himself. To see and recognize the patterns in the reality we apparently inhabit is, in my view, the most important next step necessary for the advancement of human intelligence. Importantly, this advancement cannot come from the sciences alone. It must involve a so-called “quantum leap” in consciousness.
