The CBS special report on Coburn’s investigation claims that even back in 2008 the CDC was asking the U.S. Government for an ADDITIONAL billion dollars to add to its $10 billion dollar budget. Let’s not neglect to mention the new $106 million communications and visitors center which comes complete with waterfalls, plasma televisions and much more. A $200,000 fitness center boasts $30,000 saunas, “quiet rooms” and “zero gravity chairs” that provide “mood-enhancing light shows” for CDC employees. The Congressional report mentions that taxpayer dollars that are actually being spent on disease prevention almost always yield “disappointing results.” Disappointing is an extreme understatement. AIDS grants given to the CDC have reportedly been put toward workshops on erotic writing, how to flirt and how to throw an alcohol party. In fact, the crooked agency supposedly spent $5 billion over the course of seven years on AIDS prevention. But the infection rate didn’t drop the slightest bit. Congress repeals burdensome 1099 requirement in Obamacare; full repeal may be on the way

(NaturalNews) The first signs of a full repeal of the Obama health care overhaul emerged this week when the US Congress finally voted to repeal key portions of the bill that would have imposed significant new tax and paperwork burdens on small businesses. US Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) hailed the repeal as a “down payment on total repeal,” indicating that the GOP-dominated Congress still plans to aggressively move forward against the bill. The Washington Times reports that the move to eliminate the 1099 provision is the first major change to the health care bill that has taken place since it was first voted into law. And it was one that both Democrats and Republicans eventually ended up agreeing to oppose together, a move that may signal a significant boost in momentum towards increased bipartisan support for other key health care repeals. The repealed 1099 provision would have allegedly raised about $19 billion to help pay for the enormous costs associated with Obamacare. Now that this funding source has been eliminated — with nothing else having been put in its place as a replacement — some of the logistical wind in the health bill’s sails has also been removed. “This was a provision in the health care law that pretty quickly everybody agreed was foolish,” said Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb.), to POLITICO concerning the 1099 provision. “Once something becomes law in the federal government, it is very, very hard to amend it or tweak it unless there is unanimous agreement.” Meanwhile, several US states have begun taking the necessary steps to declare the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) null and void because it violates the Tenth Amendment to the US Constitution. US Senator caught admitting that lame duck session is ‘rigged’

(NaturalNews) The recent passage of Senate Bill 510, the so-called “Food Safety Modernization Act” took place during the Senate’s “lame duck” session — the time after the fall elections, but before the new members of Congress have been installed, where Congress reconvenes to discuss various business matters and pending legislation. And Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) was recently caught on tape admitting that the lame duck session is rigged, and that the Congress has no idea what will be discussed prior to having it brought before them. Since many of the Congressmen participating in the lame duck session have already been voted out — but have yet to be replaced by their successors — interesting things often happen because they can essentially vote however they want without repercussions. They also apparently rig the sessions in order to advance various agendas. “There’s nothing about — because it’s all rigged,” Bennet was recorded as saying. “I mean, the whole conversation is rigged. The fact that we don’t get to a discussion before the break about what we’re going to do in the lame duck — is just rigged. This stuff’s rigged.” Of course, Bennet had no idea that he was in front of a live microphone when he said this. And once he realized it, he quickly shut it off. But interestingly enough, the comments came during the proceedings about S. 510, the controversial “food safety” bill that was just passed by the lame duck Senate. And the statements give credence to widely-held notions that Congressional hearings are not conducted properly or fairly, and that there is likely much foul play occurring throughout the entire process. Bennet later attempted to whitewash his statements by generalizing them into nothing more than “disappoint[ment] in partisan politics and political games that prevent progress.” Unfortunately for him, though, the cat is already out of the bag. S 510 Food Safety bill now dead in the water due to blue slip mistake

(NaturalNews) It is now being revealed that US Senators slipped up in a big way when passing the Food Safety Modernization Act on Tuesday: They added what are effectively “new taxes” into the bill, and according to the U.S. Constitution, only the House of Representatives can initiate legislation requiring new taxes. Thus, the House is now obliged to give this food safety legislation the so-called “blue slip,” meaning that it rejects the law and sends it back to the Senate for yet another vote. This would take time and effort, of course, and the Democrats have very little of either remaining in their lame duck session. As explained on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_slip): “This blue-slipping procedure, done by an order of the House, is routinely completed to enforce its interpretation that the House is the sole body to introduce revenue or appropriations legislation. The failure of the House to consider the legislation means it cannot become a law. This tactic has historically proven to be of great use to the House and, as a practical matter, the Senate does not introduce tax or revenue measures to avoid a blue slip.” In other words, the House wants to remain the sole originator of all new taxes and will therefore need to “blue slip” S.510 in order to slap the hands of Senators who are trying to enact their own new taxes under the bill. S.510 may be dead in the water The upshot of this is that this fight is not yet over . Unless the House makes an unprecedented exception to this blue slip rule, this legislation will apparently need to go back to the Senate floor for another vote. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) could simply drop the issue and let the next session of Congress start from scratch…” “Or he could try to force the issue in the Senate after the House passes a new version of the bill. But in order to do that and still tackle the other issues, he would need a unanimous consent agreement to limit debate.” But unanimous consent is impossible thanks to the heroic efforts of Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla) who has stood firm on his belief that this bill is too large, too expensive and puts too much of a burden on American farmers. If this assessment is correct, it looks like S.510 is now dead in the water and cannot be resurrected until the next session of Congress in which there will be far fewer Democrats (there was not a single Democrat in the US Senate who opposed the bill). Senate Bill 510 vote delayed until after Thanksgiving – Take action now to oppose food tyranny
