Senate Bill S 510 Food Safety Modernization Act vote imminent: Would outlaw gardening and saving seeds

Farmer, consumer outcry helping to stop passage of draconian ‘food safety’ bill

(NaturalNews) Advocates of Senate Bill 510 (S.510) — also known as the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act — are lamenting the delayed passage of the sweeping legislation that many say threatens American food freedom. According to reports, opposition from the public, local farmers and some members of Congress could delay a vote on the bill until November — and may even kill it completely. Blagojevich, political corruption and health care reform

Harvard Medical School rolls out new rules to stop its faculty from accepting bribes from Big Pharma

(NaturalNews) It is common practice for medical professionals to accept gifts, free travel, meals and other forms of indirect compensation from drug companies and medical device manufacturers for giving speeches that endorse their products. But Harvard Medical School has now made a new rule that prohibits its 11,000 faculty members from engaging in this activity. The school is also requiring that faculty who consult with drug companies, join their boards and work with them in any other ways, report all income over $5,000 publicly. The school is promising to keep a better watch on the relationships that its faculty has with drug and medical device companies as well. “We’re anxious to be viewed publicly as doing what’s in the best interest of our patients,” explained Dr. Robert Mayer, co-chairman of the committee responsible for Harvard’s new policy. According to both Dr. Mayer and Dr. Jeffrey Flier, dean of Harvard’s Medical School, faculty will still be allowed to work with such companies to perform industry-funded research, as well as be paid to sit on scientific advisory boards. The new rules were spurred by Senator Charles Grassley’s (R-IA) recent investigation concerning Harvard physicians who allegedly broke federal and medical school conflict-of-interest rules. Harvard has responded by proposing the new rules which are designed to improve its image in the view of the public. A recent Boston Globe article about the new policy explains that Dr. Mayer’s intent with the new rules is that they “are designed to keep doctors from becoming — or being perceived as — marketing agents for industry.” So it is difficult to ascertain whether anything will actually change, or whether it will simply be perceived as changing. 17 big questions about the handling of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill

(NaturalNews) What’s clear about the BP oil catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico is that the independent journalists are doing a better job of asking the really tough questions than the mainstream media. Sure, CNN, Fox and others are bringing some attention to the matter, and they’ve done some solid reporting on it, but they haven’t yet found a way to ask the deeper questions like why the U.S. government seems to be colluding with BP to cover up the truth about the spill. Just the other day, I found an article entitled, “16 Burning Questions About The Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill” on the TheEconomicCollapseBlog.com site (http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/16-burning-questions-about-the-gulf-of-mexico-oil-spill-that-we-deserve-some-answers-to). It was a really insightful collection of important questions, so I’ve repeated them below. The author of these questions wasn’t mentioned on the page, so I regret I cannot properly attribute the list, but I do think they’re worth reviewing, so I’ve included my own commentary and an extra question below. Here are the 16 questions: #1) Barack Obama has authorized the deployment of more than 17,000 National Guard members along the Gulf coast to be used “as needed” by state governors. So what are all of these National Guard troops going to be doing exactly? Are the troops going to be used to stop the oil or to control the public? Mike’s comment: Good question. Much of the response activity to the spill seems to be about controlling the public’s perception and limiting media access to the spill site rather than actually cleaning up the mess. #2) Barack Obama has also announced the creation of a “Gulf recovery czar” who will be in charge of overseeing the restoration of the Gulf of Mexico region following the oil spill. So is appointing a “czar” Obama’s idea of taking charge of a situation? #3) Because it is so incredibly toxic, the UK’s Marine Management Organization has completely banned Corexit 9500, so if there was a major oil spill in the UK’s North Sea, BP would not be able to use it. So why is BP being allowed to use Corexit 9500 in the Gulf of Mexico? Mike’s answer: Because Corexit kills sea animals and makes them sink and disappear rather than allowing them to wash up on shore where the emotional outcry would be even worse than it is already. #4) It is being reported that 2.61 parts per million of Corexit 9500 (mixed with oil at a ratio of 1:1o) is lethal to 50% of fish exposed to it within 96 hours. That means that 1 gallon of Corexit 9500/oil mixture is capable of rendering 383,141 gallons of water highly toxic to fish. So why was BP allowed to dump 1,021,000 gallons of Corexit 9500 and Corexit 9527 into the Gulf of Mexico, and why aren’t they being stopped from dumping another 805,000 gallons of these dispersants that they have on order into the Gulf? Mike’s answer: Sadly, BP is running the show in the Gulf, not the government! The U.S. government has sold out to private corporations who now think they own the gulf and can run operations there however they see fit. #5) If these dispersants are so incredibly toxic to fish, what are they going to do to crops? What are they going to do to people? Mike’s answer: They’re obviously going to poison the entire Gulf Coast region if hurricanes whip up these chemicals and deposit them on land. We could be looking at a complete wipeout of the Florida citrus industry, for example, if all the worst conditions converge. #6) If the smell of the oil on some Gulf beaches is already so strong that it burns your nostrils, then what in the world is this oil doing to wildlife that encounter it? #7) Is it a bad sign that birds from the Gulf region are flocking north by the thousands? Mike answer: Remember the Tsunami in the Indian ocean a few years back? The animals fled first, while the clueless people stayed behind and got clobbered by the deadly wave. I think a similar thing could be happening in the Gulf. All it takes is one hurricane to turn the entire region into a toxic stew of chemical poison. #8) Why is BP being allowed to use private security contractors to keep the American people away from the oil cleanup sites? Mike’s answer: Yes, this is the real question. BP is running security in the Gulf the same way Halliburton runs security in the Middle East. The corporate contractors are now the police force in the area, and they’re running the Gulf as if they owned it! This is a clear indication that the corporations have taken over our government. #9) Why is BP openly attempting to manipulate the search results on sites like Google and Yahoo? #10) Why has the FAA shut down the airspace above the Gulf of Mexico oil spill? What don’t they want the American people to see? Mike’s answer: There are lots of answer to this one: The feds probably don’t want people in small airplanes taking aerial photos and posting them online (because the Obama administration is working overtime to cover up the truth here, much like the Bush administration did with the flag-draped coffins coming home from war in the Middle East). It could also be that they are planning something really crazy like a deep ocean nuke to collapse the well, and they don’t want civilians falling out of the sky when the mushroom cloud appears. #11) Senator Bill Nelson of Florida says there are reports that there are additional ruptures in the sea floor from which oil is leaking. If there are quite a few of these additional ruptures, then how in the world does BP expect to completely stop this oil leak? Mike’s answer: BP actually doesn’t expect to stop this leak anytime soon. They are clearly in full-on spin mode, just trying to deny the truth and spin the words to buy themselves more time to offload stock shares before the whole thing comes tumbling down. #12) Why are scientists finding concentrations of methane at up to 10,000 times normal background levels in Gulf waters? Mike’s answer: Because BP broke the ocean floor, and now huge volumes of gas hydrates (which contain methane) are bubbling up from places that were previously trapped safely underground. #13) At some testing stations in the Gulf of Mexico, levels of benzene have been detected at over 3000 parts per billion, and levels of hydrogen sulfide have been detected as high as 1192 parts per billion. Considering that these levels would be highly toxic to humans, why hasn’t the general public been warned? #14) Why are so many Gulf oil spill disaster workers showing up at local hospitals complaining of a “mysterious illness”? Mike’s answer: This is going to be the Gulf War Syndrome of the Gulf Coast. Or the 9/11 asbestos question affecting firefighters. There will be a wave of toxic side effects from the use of chemicals in the Gulf, and both BP and the federal government will predictably deny any link between the chemicals and the health effects for years to come. #15) If “70% or 80%” of the protective booms are doing absolutely nothing at all to stop the oil, then what is going to stop the millions of gallons of oil in the Gulf from eventually reaching shore? Mike’s answer: Nothing, of course. The oil is going to reach the shore, and there’s nothing BP or the feds can do to stop in. In fact, it seems as if they are trying to interfere with the cleanup by halting the barges that were supposed to be vacuuming oil just off the beaches. #16) It is being reported that the deep sea oil plumes are creating huge “dead zones” where all creatures are dying as they are deprived of oxygen. If this oil spill continues to grow could the vast majority of the Gulf of Mexico become one gigantic “dead zone”? Mike’s answer: Indeed, that is precisely what looks likely to happen. The Gulf of Mexico could become a massive dead zone, adding to the long list of humanity’s crimes against the planet. Remember the BP press conferences on cable news? A U.S. Coast Guard representative was standing right there beside the BP spokesperson, almost as if she were a subordinate of BP. This is insane! If anything, the US Coast Guard should be telling BP what to do, not the other way around. And why is the US Coast Guard restricting reporters’ access to the spill areas, threatening them with arrest if they “trespass.” Trespass into PUBLIC waters? Doesn’t anybody realize that BP does not own the Gulf of Mexico and if we want to take our boats out into the Gulf to get some video of what’s really happening there, that’s our right! But the U.S. government is now working for BP, it seems, and they’re trying to protect BP’s image by restricting the freedoms of ordinary Americans. Sound familiar? That’s why I think this Gulf of Mexico disaster is another 9/11 reactionary freedom squasher in the works. Just wait… you’ll see what kind of freedom-destroying ideas are put forth by our lawmakers in response to this catastrophe. When it’s all said and done, it won’t only be British Petroleum that loses; it will be all of us. The Corporatocracy and government collusion What we’re really witnessing here with the BP disaster is our own government colluding with the powerful corporatocracy to cover up the truth all while making it worse by interfering with legitimate cleanup efforts. It’s almost as if the federal government were actively working to worsen the problem and expand the impact of the disaster. But that brings up the question: Why? Why would our own government worsen a catastrophe? The answer, of course, is right in front of you. Just visit ground zero in New York City and remind yourself of all the various ways the U.S. government expanded its power following the collapse of the twin towers. “Never waste a good crisis” is the mantra of Big Government today, and the easiest way to steal even more power away from the people is to turn a small disaster into a big disaster, then leap in with a “government solution” that enacts some large, oppressive new act that never would have been possible before the disaster. So what kind of oppressive new laws does the Obama administration want to put in place in response to this disaster? Perhaps government control over all oceans, or government control over all seafood. Maybe they want to outlaw oil over the next 25 years and force everybody to transition to some other form of energy (which may not actually be a bad idea from an ecological perspective, but at what price to freedom?). There are a thousand other conspiracy theories that try to guess at what the government’s true agenda might be in this moment. While it’s hard to say which of them (if any) might be true, one thing is crystal clear: The government does not seem interested in solving the problem in the Gulf of Mexico. It is covering up the truth, threatening mainstream journalists who try to photograph the region, restricting air travel over the well site, restricting boat travel anywhere near the spill, and basically lying to the public on a daily basis about what’s really happening there. That alone should make any thinking person suspicious. If the situation were really under control, why would they have to lie about it? Big Brother to track your medication compliance with electronic transmitters in pills

(NaturalNews) Now that the U.S. government has achieved its monopoly over health care, new technologies are in the works that will allow the government to remotely monitor and track whether ordinary citizens are complying with taking medications prescribed by conventional doctors. One new technology described at the U.S. Senate Committee on Aging allows “pills to be electronically outfitted with transmitters” which would track the patient’s compliance with medications and broadcast that information back to government health care enforcers who check for “compliance and efficacy.” “Emerging technologies allow pills to be electronically outfitted with transmitters to communicate with the user’s wristwatch that shows that the pill has been consumed,” said University of Virginia professor Robin Felder at the committee meeting. “Broadband connectivity of these devices would allow the electronic medical record to be updated with regard to medication compliance and efficacy.” This would allow government health operators, for example, to know whether you’ve taken all your prescribed psychiatric medications. If you veer from the course of pharmaceuticals prescribed by your doctor, health care enforcement agents could be dispatched to your door to make sure you start taking your pills. Parents who currently attempt to protect their children from toxic medical therapies such as chemotherapy could be closely monitored by government medical enforcement agents. If you try to flush dangerous pharmaceuticals down the toilet instead of actually taking them, the lack of an electronic tracking signal will let your health care observers know you didn’t really take the pills. Get ready for E-Care It’s all part of a new push called E-Care which involves a number of medical devices that monitor you in your home and report back to government authorities. A blood pressure monitoring device, for example, could report your blood pressure to your government-approved doctor. A blood sugar monitoring device could determine if you’ve eaten too much sugar and order you to take more diabetes pills to try to compensate. Big Government, you see, doesn’t just want to monopolize health care; it wants to monitor your compliance with it. Big Brother snooping in on your diet One of the ultimate goals of this remote monitoring technology is to install a blood monitoring chip in your arm that would sample and run diagnostic tests on your blood every few minutes. While this could be used in a positive way to detect early signs of cancer or liver problems, for example, it could also be used to snoop on the dietary habits of everyday citizens. If you take too much vitamin C, for example — beyond what is allowed by CODEX — it could trigger a monitored alert that causes government-run medical operatives to force their way into your home and confiscate your “non-compliant” vitamins. If your vitamin D levels rise high enough to actually prevent cancer, they could have you arrested for “spending too much time in the sun” and thrown into a hospital with no windows to, as they claim, “Protect you from skin cancer.” These are some of the very practical realities that could theoretically emerge in the dystopian medicalized society that seems to be getting closer with each passing day. We’re monitoring you for your own good This isn’t science fiction: It’s modern medical fact. As CNSNews reports, “…Areas of interest include medicines that can tell a doctor if they have been taken on time [and] wireless monitoring of nutritional information…” Of course, as with all privacy-invading monitoring devices, government will argue that monitoring you is “for your own good.” You can expect an RFID chip to be implanted in your arm, too, containing your entire medical history. So every time you pass near an RFID reader at a government-controlled facility (airports, schools, interstate toll booths, etc.), your entire medical history can be scanned and assessed for a variety of metrics. Combined with the blood analysis chip implants, this would give health enforcement authorities a way to find and arrest “dangerous” people — such as people who aren’t taking enough antidepressants, for example. Or people who show signs of consuming herbal medicines. All these people could be tracked down, arrested and then forced to consume medications before they are released back into the public. TIA for your body The program is basically Total Information Awareness at the personal biology level. Big Brother wants to monitor your biochemistry, you see, to make sure you remain compliant with its pharmaceutical and junk foods agenda. It’s not enough for the government to monitor your phone calls, scan your emails and watch you sunbathing on your back porch with spy satellites; now they want to snoop into your bloodstream and monitor what you’ve been eating, drinking or swallowing. “This device here connects to other devices that measure a patient’s blood pressure and glucose [sugar] levels.” said U.S. Senator Ron Wyden. “It wirelessly uploads this data to an electronic medical health record that is monitored by a health care professional.” (A government-mandated health care enforcer, in other words.) With this technology, they could even monitor your moods by tracking fluctuations of hormone levels. They will know when you’re happy, when you’re angry, when you’re having sex, when you’re sleeping. All this information will be at the fingertips of government health care enforcers who are, of course, working to further the Big Pharma agenda of medicating everyone from cradle to grave. Remote administration of medications But it gets even worse. Part of this E-Care technology involves the remote administration of medications directly into your bloodstream. A supply of medication chemicals can be worn on your body (like a wristband, for example), and when it receives a remote command from your health care enforcers, it can inject another dose of some chemical into your bloodstream. These chemicals could be anything — antidepressants, tranquilizers, antipsychotics, statin drugs, chemotherapy drugs and so on. So now you’ve got remote government medical operatives who can essentially control your biochemistry as if you were a robot in a Big Government reality game. If they are about to come to your house and take away your children because you refused to give them vaccines, for example, they could first remotely inject you with tranquilizers so that you will be “calm, docile and compliant” upon their arrival. This now puts the government in control of your mind through the remote administration of mind-altering chemicals. “What we’re talking about, folks, is using a device like this one,” said Senator Wyden during the committee meeting. “It attaches to the patient’s skin and is loaded with drugs that are administered in the exact way that the doctor prescribes — wirelessly.” Except it’s not really the way the doctor prescribes; it’s the way the government prescribes. Because now Big Government is running health care and telling doctors exactly what to do. So government is determining what chemicals get administered to you, and before long they’ll be able to administer those chemicals wirelessly. Did you get your happy chemicals today? At the click of a mouse, in other words, Big Government could mass medicate the entire nation . Imagine the entire population being dosed with “happy chemicals” in the days before an important vote. Or imagine the population being medicated with “anger hormones” following some staged false-flag attack, all designed to create outrage so that the politicians can sweep in with yet more “solutions” that destroy civil liberties. This may be what’s coming, which is why establishing a government health care monopoly was so important in the first place. Without the government monopoly and the IRS penalties for non-compliance, there would be no way to force everybody into participating in such a system. But now, health care run by Big Government has opened the door for us all to be chipped, monitored and medicated without our knowledge and against our will. Health care reform bill dooms America to Pharma-dominated sickness and suffering

(NaturalNews) Today the medical mafia struck another devastating blow to the health and freedom of all Americans. With the support of an inarguably corrupt Congress that has simply abandoned the real needs of the American people, the sick-care industry has locked in a high-profit scheme of disease and monopoly-priced pharmaceuticals in a nation that can ill afford either one. And this Pharma-funded betrayal, it turns out, was led by the Democrats. Passed on a 219-212 vote that was only accomplished thanks to closed-door, last-minute secret meetings among the last holdouts, this new legislation puts America under the stranglehold of the medical mafia while doing absolutely nothing to address real health care reform. There is no mention in the bill, for example, of vitamin D for preventing cancer, or orthomolecular medicine for preventing degenerative disease. There’s not even a word about protecting health freedom or ending the century of oppression that has been waged against naturopathic practitioners by the AMA, FDA and FTC. The new legislation does, however, lock in billions of dollars in monopoly profits for the pharmaceutical companies — the same companies who spent millions of dollars pushing for its passage and who depend on the continuation of sickness and disease for their future profits. There’s only one problem with this health care reform bill: It doesn’t reform health care . It has almost nothing to do with health care at all, in fact: It’s really more of an effort to expand a broken sick-care system . When faced with the problem that our sick-care system doesn’t work , Congress somehow decided that fixing the problem merely involved expanding the failures to include everyone! And you don’t even get a choice in the matter, either. All Americans are now required to pay into a sick-care system of monopolized, pharmaceutical medicine even if they reject that failed system of medicine . So the healthy people who actually take responsibility for their health are financially penalized and forced to subsidize profits for drug companies! Or, more accurately, I love what America is supposed to stand for: Freedom, opportunity, abundance, free choice, diversity… But I’m increasingly noticing that America’s leaders don’t believe in those ideals at all. They are betraying the American people by selling out our futures to the corporate monopolists. They have sold out our futures to keep themselves in power, and isn’t that the worst kind of betrayal of all? In the U.S. military, when troops are on the battlefield fighting for each other’s lives, anyone who fatally betrays their fellow soldiers may, under customary military tradition, be executed on the spot by a commanding officer. Those who betray their fellow countrymen, are simply taken out. And why? Because in the military, people’s lives are on the line. But aren’t people’s lives on the line with health care, too? While people like myself and many other health freedom champions are fighting for health freedom and an end to human suffering among our fellow brothers and sisters, we’ve got our national leaders essentially aiming the artillery at our own people and yelling “Fire!” Through their actions with this health care reform bill, they are forcing people into circumstances that are going to cost countless lives and many trillions of dollars in wasted expenditures and lost economic productivity. Our Congress has betrayed us (yet again). I’m not saying they should be subjected to military justice, because I don’t believe in using violence to resolve differences. But I do believe that with perhaps the exception of Rep. Ron Paul, every single Senator and House Representative should be thrown out of office, stripped of their power and sent home to face their home-district families that they have now doomed to a lifetime of sickness, disease and pharmaceutical toxicity. Our national leaders claim to be voting on Health Care but what they really delivered was Hell Care , because dying of cancer while on chemotherapy while no doctor can legally tell you that vitamin D prevents 4 out of 5 cancers is, indeed, a living hell (or dying hell, in this case). And speaking of Hell, the dark energies that have been provoked and called upon in this battle for pharmaceutical dominance over the “disease management” of the American population almost seems downright demonic, as if some evil power from other world had been summoned into Washington D.C. to ensure the passage of this legislation that practically guarantees another generation of pain and suffering at the hands of conventional medicine. All the health solutions that really work — nutritional medicine, orthomolecular therapies, chiropractic medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and so on — have been locked out of the system while those therapies that promote a lifetime of disease have been locked in. And in this way, our Congress has now made certain that America as we know it today will not survive another generation — because no nation can achieve greatness when its people are drowning in toxic chemicals and degenerative disease. We’ve got to save the America we love America doesn’t need more drugs, more chemotherapy, more mammograms, more vaccines and more nutritionally-ignorant doctors pushing more poison pills onto more uninformed patients. What this country needs is a grassroots health revolution that throws out the broken, failed system of pharma-medicine that doesn’t work and replaces it with a new system of healing, nutrition, patient education and personal health responsibility that would slash our health care costs and set our nation on a new path of health and prosperity. This goal can never be accomplished when the people writing our laws are determined to protect the financial interests of the very industry that depends on sickness and disease for its profits. When it came down to a choice between the People and the corporations, our U.S. Congress chose the corporations! I love America, and I’d love to see its health restored. But more importantly, I would love to see the American people rise up against their betrayers in Washington, peacefully sweep them out of office at the next election and make a real effort to restore the rights and freedoms that are outlined in the United States Constitution — a document that seems to have been written off by the Washington jackals who, themselves, are suffering from degenerative mental disorders and psychotropic drug side effects.
